From my passive spectating of the status of the game, I have noticed a few things about the game, specifically the format we're all common with, Master Duel. 1. Konami doesn't plan out the game well for the long term: Think of the synchro cards when they were first released. With the exception of the "Junk Synchrons" and perhaps some other archetypes I haven't mentioned, most of the synchro boss monsters require "a tuner + 1 or more non tuners"; for "Black Rose Dragon", they don't mention that the materials need to be plant monsters as shown in the show, or for "Red Dragon Archfiend" the materials need to be fiend/DARK attribute. This is a problem as it's giving duelists OP cards to play with without having to create a deck to surround their strategies based on said cards. This is still happening with other monsters as evident with "Baron..." or "Accesscode Talker", thus allowing duelists to play those OP cards without having to make some major tune ups to their decks. 2. There really isn't much commitment to the rules: Somehow, you're going to see cards that contradict everything, just when you're about to know the advanced knowledge of Yu-Gi-Oh! For example, "Chaos Angel" is a synchro monster, which means that you need a tuner and a non tuner, except forget about it, you can use a LIGHT and DARK monster to replace the tuners. It contradicts the very rules Konami had established in creating the game as well as it's summoning mechanics (it also doesn't help that both LIGHT and DARK attributes are two of the most common in the game). That is why there will be problematic cards that will be printed, because Konami doesn't feel like they have to commit to the very rules they've established, resulting in a broken mess. 3. Card design: You ever wonder why the Lightsworn archetype is iconic. Well maybe because of it's power and potential, but it's mainly due to their unique mechanic of self milling the deck. Yugioh may've always been a mess somehow but we have at least gotten iconic archetypes like HERO, Vampires, Junk, etc. because they we're able to perform a unique gameplan for many duelists. Modern day archetypes that are created prioritize their uniqueness secondly, the first comes to power. In lamest terms I have devised the cycle of modern archetypes. Observe. OP Archetype is created -----> Kinda gets problematic -----> OP Archetype either gets reprinted or banned from the banlist thus diminishing the value and former glory it once had -----> Repeat with a brand new archetype. >Maybe I'm exaggerating. After all, some of these archetypes only became problematic because duelists like to exploit as evident with combining Tearlaments with Ishizu's cards. But this cannot excuse Konami for at least creating..... 4. A Casual Format: Given an exploitable mess of a game, on the bright side, it would be fun to duel with friends, share gaming knowledge and improve your deck on a casual format. Except, Yu-Gi-Oh! isn't prioritized as casual today. It has to be a competition! This is problematic as there isn't an official gateway for new duelists like I was to play the game or the monsters you like simply for fun. And while, there are formats like GOAT, Edison, they can only do so much before you crave to explore more. Verdict: Am I going to complain that Yu-Gi-Oh! is ruined? Well not. My time with YGO has enlightened me on my purpose for playing the game. I just want to have fun, playing with the monsters, spells and traps I like. Additionally I would also like to create my own YGO format dedicated to casual players that want to explore the same rules as Master Duel (taking inspiration from Trinity Format). My point is to find your way of enjoying your game. In my case, I just want to play with friends to pass the time, execute amazing combos never saw before, just have fun, even if it means not adding handtraps to my deck (thank goodness I don't have to pay for "Ash Blossom" for my deck). My encouragement is for duelists to find why they like to play the game and play how they like. Don't let a banlist, a few losses or a toxic aspect of the community tell you what you need to do; all I'm saying is play how you want to. Anyways.....Screw the current format, I'm going to play Duel Link!!!! >:D
couldn't agree more. yugiohs also got this little community problem where everyone seems to only care about competitive. casual modern yugioh is pretty fun. specially when nobody in your local group is playing the meta garbage that warps formats around it. i also wish that the yugioh community would embrace alt formats more, like common charity.
So I just want to make two comments here. 1. As a loyal Speedroid fan, I completely agree with the assertion that boss monsters shouldn't be generic. Crystal Wing Synchro Dragon _is a Speedroid boss monster._ Synchro Dragons and Speedroids are intrinsically entwined with each other. In the anime, Crystal Wing required Clear Wing as material (and Speedroids have easy access to a level 1 tuner in Red-Eyed Dice)... and in the game, it just needs a non-tuner synchro monster, which means it can be splashed into decks that aren't Speedroid. Usually Synchron from what I've seen. What is archetype identity? 2. Duel Links based
Other than reversing the stupid hits that got us into this mess I can't think of any currently banned archetypal cards that would be healthy being added back into the meta. Dimwitted MBT dickriders say Tear should be brought back to full power without realizing that would just cause its own huge problems. The short list of cards that could come back to 3 that would buff viable decks without being issues on their own are: Kirin, Circular, Ariseheart, Astrograph, Tidal, Isolde, Simorgh, Drident, Misc, Harp, Sharvara, and that's about it. Only Ariseheart really does anything to mitigate Snake-Eyes since the rest of them still can't compete as well as you'd want. The cards that would actually mitigate Snake-Eyes are cancerous on their own. So the answer is that OSS needs to be banned. Konami isn't going to balance the format additively this time. They have to be subtractive.
@@geek593I definitely disagree that circular could come back to 3. That card is horribly designed and mega broken in the fact that it is a one card combo that still facilitates a combo all on its own even if it gets negated by ash or imperm.
@@weneurysm Circular isn't broken and I'm sick of seeing people say it is. Mathmech was never the best deck even in a lower power format. The combo wasn't oppressive. It's also not able to be the one-card combo you'd want it to be if you try splashing it into other decks. And the summon effect not being able to be Ashed doesn't matter at all when every single GY interaction in the game stops the combo dead in its tracks. Hell, you can wait to Ash the on-field effect of Circular or Alembertian and still probably win from there unless the opponent happens to have drawn the exact cards they need. This is like saying Tri-Brigade Fraktall is broken. What does it facilitate?
As a branded player. Banning sanc is fine, it's useless anyway (unless you play the braindead lock) It's supposed to be a plan b for branded, but when was the last time anyone ever used it for that purpose?
I'd rather Electrumite stay banned. We really don't need every Pendulum deck to suddenly become Pend Magicians with a new coat of paint again. Astrograph absolutely needs to come back to 3 though. It's the buff Supreme King needs to get push its consistency up to reasonable levels without losing its current identity to Pend Soup. The difference in resilience and board presence that deck presents when it draws Astrograph compared to when it doesn't is insane. Really I just want to be able to keep playing a huge amount of non-engine in a streamlined Supreme King deck without needing to fill it up with Pendulumgraphs and old Pend magicians. Gate Magician being a do-everything is enough to make me love that deck already.
@geek593 You know, this is a solid argument against Electrumite that I hadn't considered before. We have new good (but not broken) pendulum support links in Beyond and Exceed, so we don't actually _need_ Electrumite. Pile decks are boring af (just look at most Cyberse decks). ...personally, I think Electrumite should get an errata so it only works with Metalfoes, but we all know that isn't gonna happen :V Also, yes, Astrograph is absolutely necessary. The power level of pendulums is natively reduced by the game rules, so they need SOMETHING to stay relevant.
Here's a spicy one: let's unban Curious, but ban Knightmare Gryphon in exchange. That way they push the upcoming Lightsworn support by giving us back the archetype's midboss, while also deleting one of its most toxic combos.
There is a way out, I believe. Less focus on disruption, more focus on being unaffected. Obviously just a crude take, but I personally see potential in it. Allows people to play their game and brings more focus back on combat between cards.
Arise-shart is as much of a floodgate as Summon Limit or Anti Spell. You open your Imperm or Cosmic, or you lose. Hard disagree on that one. I feel like Sanctifire is better when you don't poppet lock. The deck has zero issue winning without it, but summoning shit to the opponent's board is unfortunately war criminal behaviour. It also helps you not get completely assblasted by Super Poly, a really uninteractive board breaker for decks that have the extra deck space. I think the card is cool, but if it has to die, I understand.
You're missing the huge differences between backrow and monster floodgates. When the floodgate of the format is a monster people will start playing on-field interruptions to turn it off and deal with the problem. These are cards that are always viable outside of extremely niche scenarios like Tear Zero. The way the game is played in the majority of matchups gives at least minor value to cards like Imperm, Book of Moon, Kaijus, etc. Backrow removal is always in the side deck because the chance of you running into a backrow wincon game 1 is negligible. There is no good reason to main backrow removal by default in an open format in a game like modern Yugioh where monsters are do-everything wincon drivers. You noticed in Kash/Unchained format last year that cards that were seen as not worth maining in previous formats like Book of Moon still saw main deck play because even in the worst matchups it did traded one for one and potentially more depending how many invested resources you turned off by simply booking a monster. This argument can also be applied to Shiter which has Ariseheart's effect but can't be interacted with basically at all unless you're on the play and have Called By. Same effect, it's also a floodgate, but it's infinitely more impactful because there's no way to interact with it. With backrow floodgates there's almost no reasonable way to be prepared for them in the main without being worse into everything else. tl:dr: Ariseheart is completely fair and an example of a good metagame centralizer since Book of Moon and Imperm are more viable answers than Cosmic Cyclone.
But ariseheart is literally the main point of kashtira plus with all the hand trap people run rn shutting down kash isn’t hard, I think the lucky floodgates like summon limit and anti spell should be ban or limited at a minimum.
@@geek593 So, the back row floodgate is stronger than the monster floodgate that can be used easily and more consistently, because you're too lazy to add the right card in your deck. Solid reason, indeed. We better ban all back rows to make a better place for players like you. .for Evenly, Lightning Storm, and Pank (if it is at 3) will be good equalizers for that too.
@@renaldyhaenYes. There's a reason why Spell Canceller is only used in the most arcane brews, while Anti Spell and IO are common side and main deck cards.
I think a funnier deck to bring back to deal with Snake Eye is to put each tear name to 3 no millers and no kit just buffs consistency and removes the gamba aspect of current builds.
Bring back some Tearlament cards too; having Kash, Tear and Snake will create a space for other things to challenge the meta as the variety will do that naturally and at least you have a choice form 3 different decks with very different playstyles.
I'm planning on getting a video set up for this once I have the ability to record and I want your Opinion on this. What if, to fix the game long term, Konami started a "Slice of Life Errata" Era of Yugioh where they heavily, but fairly nerf cards that are banned, have massive problems, or are just generally strong, too diverse, etc. And change the card to still be useful, but weaker, more limited, or more fair. Examples include Making Master Peace require 2 tribute of the SAME card type, instead of 2 different types and it is immune to that 1 type. Making Halq require Crystrons to summon, or to not let it be used as link material, or not the summoned monster use link material, or to summon a crystron (they really messed up halq) Requiring Elpy-Pisty-Agarpain to need a guardragon monster to be link summoned. Make the zoodiacs be allowed to overlay on zoodiac xyz monsters but still require the 2 monsters to summon normally. Changing Tri Brigade to use Tri Brigade monsters instead of basing by type as that gets wordy. Changing Drytrons to only support Machine Rituals. Requiring Borreload Savage Dragon to have a Rokket Tuner Ect. And re-release the errataed cards as commons in the newer sets instead of sweet nothings. So even if you don't want the newer stronger decks. You still have a chance to pull a weaker version of a decent deck staple. Through a few years of these nerfs they would decrease the strength of the metagame so much they can start focusing on developing the game in more creative ways without exponential powercreep. Feel free to critique the idea. As it's incomplete and I want as much input before I make a script and try to make a video on the subject.
This seems not too different than just many other of the normal errata’s that the game does like it did with Goyo. I wouldn’t mind if we started locking down generic boss monsters tho, I’m releasing a vid next week all about doing that
@@BreadBoyWeeb What I mean is to Errata entire archetypes. Not just the bosses. Disassemble all the generic support hidden in archetypes and unbreakable board pieces. Destroy Dragon Link and let players be able to use dragon monsters without memorizing Guardragon Combos. Get rid of Beast Warrior Support in zoodiac, etc. I mean to completely reverse the metagame to the way it was in 2015-17. Where combo and control both had opportunity. Where counter play was both feasible and cheap. One where there is an expensive top deck, and had counters with multiple smaller decks. Making it possible to have fun with Budget. It's not just fixing 1 boss monster at a time. It's fixing entire decks at a time.
Just putting it out there: Ash isnt a money card. You could probably ban Ash and the deck would still find a way to be playable. Although the real answer is to just ban IP Masquerena. Making Appo or SP on the opponent's turn on top of everything else is awful. EDIT: NAH, FUCK ARISEHEART. GIMMIE BACK DRIDENT, I WANT TO PLAY LABRYNTH ZOO.
Banning ash is kind of gonna kill the deck. Which is what I was trying to avoid. There is a good arguement to ban IP or apollo, please stay tuned I actually want to make a vid on generic boss monsters for next fridays discussion. AND THEY BEATING MY ASS FOR THE ARISEHEART COMMENTS MAN I THINK IT COULD WORK. Also my MD brain forgot drident is still banned lol
Honestly I kinda hope if they take any cards off the ban list I kinda hope one of them is speedroid terrortop. For very biased reasons being that speedroid is my long time favorite little pet deck and I just want my boy out of parole
SAME I think they recently put Terrortop to 2 in the TCG/3 in MD and I haven't heard a word of it causing problems. The Terrortop/Taketomborg into rank 3 meta is in the past.
@@keikaku9298 Gotcha but what about Snake Eye Diabellestar once that comes out? That can place a card from grave (oak) and then you can resummon it and revive one from grave.
Even as someone whose favorite deck is branded, I also think the sanctifire dragon needs to be banned. The gimmick puppet lock, as well as the calamity lock, is something that shouldn't have ever existed, and speaking of calamity lock, I also would like to see the crimson dragon get banned as well so the calamity lock as well as any potential locks that will eventually make in the future will no longer be a problem, as for other things I would like to see on a banned list is snake-eyes ash to 1, wanted to 1, all of the dragon rulers to 3, skill drain, summon limit, and anti-spell fragrance to 1 or banned, and as for a card that I personally love to see come back but a few people probably won't agree with me is spright elf to 1
4:09 Or errata Linkuriboh to "1 Level 1 DARK monster" 6:16 I once played against R-ACE, they activated Summon Limit, fine, I go Traptrix Pudica to search Garden, then banish Pudica to s. summon Myrmeleo from hand to pop it nearly instantly. I mean, still, I agree on the fact, that that card is not fun at all. 7:08 YES, 100% Agreed 7:17 again, Agreed. isn't it just Artifact Scythe 2.0, and also easier?
Well, I can certainly agree with a Sanctifire ban, but that's more bias against Branded than anything- (Also of note is that the new Gimmick Puppet support CANNOT NIGHTMARE LOCK THE OPPONENT ON THEIR TURN. They can put monsters on the opponent's field, but it isn't a quick effect, so it's only on your turn. Even with Gimmick Puppets getting support, Nightmare lock is still a Branded thing.)
Ngl i really hope you're wrong about jet synchron. It's literally the main tuner of adventure synchron (the only variant that got competitive results) same with one for one but that's honestly fair for it being sacky so i wouldn't mind that much. Ariseheart i gotta disageee with, even if only temporary you're still just adding another unfun deck to the format except instead of unbeatable recovery and grind game it's Macro Turbo.
I think jet should be a temp ban until we finally kill snake eyes, should have clarified. I think ariseheart can be unfun but it’s much more fragile than other sort of floodgatey boss monsters, but I can respect the disagree regardless, thanks for the consistent support!
@@BreadBoyWeebAhh alright though I'm not sure if Konami has ever just banned a card for a format and then unbanned it the next. I still wouldn't want that though cause I play the deck lmao. Ariseheart while fragile does require you to basically just draw the out in a lot of cases especially when your deck struggles against stuff like Macro. Kash format was abysmal for me because of that. No problem, your videos are awesome and have created some interesting discussion so thank you!
@@Honest_Mids_Masher They did for Jet. He was banned for halqs sins and when it finally died they unbanned it. We have seen some others as well. With Ariseheart it is a bit draw the out. But there are so many outs. TTT, imperm, thrust, dark ruler, kurikara (which is searchable in snake eyes). And I think its less toxic than something like appo which one of my videos coming up is gonna talk about generic boss monsters.
@@BreadBoyWeeb Ahh gotcha True Ariseheart has soo many outs and a lot of those cards are seeing use rn so it does force you to run bad cards for a format. Maybe it could come back ig.
I don't understand why Konami is still keeping heavy storm banned, get off the list. Another card that i woud not mind off the list is Magic spector Kirian. They made alll this magicspecter support and no one is paying attention to it because of snake eyes.
It's because Majespecter is a pendulum deck. They only ever throw token support out every now and then to put people under the illusion that they haven't intentionally tried to wipe pendulums from the game entirely. I could go on a rant about that, but maybe I should save it for a place where it's more relevant-
Adding Arise heart so people have to buy doubles of expensive extra deck monsters, punishing linkuriboh because Konami printed game breaking cards. This is a garbage list.
I play games all the time using summer limit I've been using summon limit ever since it came out and the games are always fun with them because it doesn't let players summon more than twice per turn that makes the game fun when opponent or anybody can summon 3or4or5or6 times a turn is not fun
Better solution: unban kirin, ishizu shufflers or unlimit the tears, unlimit all the purrely stuff and block dragon to semi, so then we have options with the powerhouses snake eye, purrely, adamancipator, tearlaments and majespecter (MAYBE floo but everyone hates that deck so it’s excluded)
Circular yes, Elf absofuckinglutely not. Unban Elf and you just get Snake-Eyes with on field protection since they can easily pay the three bodies they need to make Elf in a non level 2 deck.
I think you found Barrier Statue of the Abyss + Red Screen stall combo in Resonator Red Dragon Archfiend when you said "ban all of the Barrier Statues" which was probably intentional on Konami's part with the Crimson King Structure release...
I mostly agree, but as a Skull Servant player i have a bone to pick with you. Leave my boy linkuriboh alone Õ___Õ Jokes aside, it feels really bad to lose cards that see play on a lot of decks because the top one can also use it, so i kinda not agree that much on some cards (linkuriboh, one for one, hiita). I think its better to strengten other decks. You said linkuriboh protects Apollousa, but she is the more problematic card (generic bosses overall i think). Sanctifire should summon the monsters with their effects negated i guess (any quick effect that does this generically should be this way - the effect being, summon any monster to opponent field (as quick effect). Its funny (and good) that the new Gimmick Puppet cards can't puppet lock on quick effect. While i hate when cards are destroyed by nerfs like Chaos Emperor, (i prefer the ban + release weaker version approach, like they did with pot of greed, giant trunade, etc), i think archetypal cards that work generically should be changed to be completely locked to their archetypes - like halq, jet synchron, etc).
I know I wouldn't be able to participate because I'm more of a budget player, but I'm very curious to see what would happen if all the dragon rulers were unhit and the Tearlameants were set free and Kashtira was set free just to see who the best would be. Out of all those tear 0 format decks, maybe throw in Zoodiac and Draco into the mix as well. And as for a aummon limit story, i personally thought it was funny that a guy playing Dark Magician Stun was using it against me but it was doing more work to stop his plays then mine wirh Vanquish Soul
Imo, to nerf snake eyes, limit Diabellstar, limit ash, semi limit or keep as it is (this card only work as an extender, no combo starter with this one), semi limit poplar, stronger than oak but not as strong as the others, ban jet, limit bonfire, and limit flamberge, the combo would still exist but now it has a risk to get it fully out and it’s not consistent anymore
It’s crazy but I love everything about this mega except the snake eyes cards. Other than those cards I love that many decks remain relevant, even stuff tear or super heavy can be played.but yeah snake eyes is no fun.
I think at best Poplar is gonna get Semi-limited then after a couple of months when Konami is trying to pimp a new archetype or get sick of hearing players cry for snakeyes to get hit they either limit ash or straight up ban poplar.
yes there is a difference. master duels format is hot garbage cause there's too many broken cards like maxx c legal. its even worse in master duel cause its like the ocg banlist except they never ban problem cards unless they absolutely have too cause they have to refund there players the material.
this, format sucks cause they dont wanna ban anything thats ur, honestly i stopped md cause of that and now back to omega/ book. + every new deck has more ur then the last, in md branded has 35 ur you have to craft........wtf.@@xanthos8661
Keep don't unban arizheart. Bring back kitkalose if you need and put the tear fusers to 3 if you need a deck to complete with snake eyes but don't bring back a floodgate. Maybe bring back elpy too to diversify the the format, but not macro cosmos on legs.
Just saying, Labrinth has ben really popular in Master Dule to the point where it is one of the most powerful decks on the game. I think it's an all right deck at it's basis but it could use some hits. So what would people do to weaken this?
Lab is nowhere near being powerful enough to warrant any kind of bans... On the contrary lab actually needs more support on MD to be even at a power level to compete with most meta decks currently being played on MD...
I'm not insane, kirin is a good way to "counter" snake eyes becouse is inmune to prometean and can evade the floating efect of the snake eyes dragon but Konami keep printing meta decks that screw pend decks for no reason and don't free kirin for... Well no reason.
Boy am I looking forward to when we get the new Diabellstar sequel that basically says you aren't allowed to play pendulums, ever, and is stupid easy to get onto the board
Why not bring back colossus? He prevents snake-eyes and voiceless voice decks from searching if you go first. Also he has been unbanned in the OCG and Master Duel and remains very NOT competitively viable. In my opinion a lot of people hate on colossus for being the force he was back in 2018 (6 years ago!) without comparing him to the modern gameplay environment.
cause colossus is a tumorous floodgate that isn't fun. also he is too easy to summon. plus konami's been banning floodgate lately so i doubt one of the worst floodgate would come back.
@@xanthos8661 yes, he is easy to summon, but also easy to remove, especially out of a Thunder deck, Personally I would rather deal with colossus than summon limit, evenly matched or rivalry of warlords/there can only be one. Plus, if you go second colossus is almost useless because the opponent has already searched their deck all they needed - colossus wasn't on board to stop them, but ash blossom could since it is a handtrap. If colossus was unbanned you would quickly find that nobody would play it due the prevalence of far more reliable and robust options.
@@dragoniteknight4043 no people would still play it. especially in a format where where droll is actually seeing play and other floodgates are limited to 1. also no he isn't easy to remove as he has protection from destruction by banishing a thunder monster, that isn't a once per turn by the way. which isn't crazy but on a card that's a walking droll that can be really hard to get rid of depending on what your playing. colossus should never be unban because even if he doesn't see play in competitive, its a unfun and unhealth card in the game like all the other flood gate trap cards.
Snake eyes is this too new for Konami to be hit with bans rn and I definitely agree with the ariseheart being unban but I think only limiting the the field spell would be enough really
Pankratops is okay for 3. This is a good going 2nd tool and very balanced because you can only use this in turn 2. . Arise Unban is really bad too btw. Unless TCG is brave enough to hit more Kash main deck cards. So, if Arise unbans, let's say FIRE isn't META or Tier 0 anymore because of the ban list, do you want the players to suffer from FIRE Tier 0 to Macro Cosmos with leg Tier 0 again? I don't think this is a good experience. The TCG got a good variety of decks after the Arise ban and before the FIRE Nation attack. . Barrier Statue needs their own archetype :)
How about just banning gimmick puppet nightmare and the other cards similar to it? As far as I can tell no one uses any of them, so it wouldn't negatively affect players.
@@absoul112 as far as I'm aware, the gimmick puppet support doesn't even use it. why lock your opponent when you can just kill them before they can play with a resilient ftk.
@@xanthos8661 It isn't just that they don't use it, it's that they can't. The new support can put monsters on your opponent's field, but only on your turn (not a quick effect), so the only thing it'd be good for is stopping decks that combo on your turn or, like... Nibiru or something. Nightmare lock is still not a Gimmick Puppet thing for that reason.
@@gyppygirl2021 thanks for the clarification. :) i don't play them so i just wouldn't know, but I'm kind of on the fence about Albion sanct. thinking about it I'm surprised that card doesn't negate the effect of the monster it summons to your opponent's field. then the card would be fine, just like the recent eratta to summon sorceress.
Fun factor doesnt matter to me when it comes to the floodgate discussion. If you are both opting into a snake eyes mirror in a tournament you arent there for fun, you are there to win. If a floodgate is going to help i have zero issues with doing it
True... If that's the way to secure a win then why would you not? Yu-Gi-Oh has evolved into this game where the aim isn't to outplay your opponent but instead it's to make sure your opponent does not play... Why should floodgates be banned when they fall exactly in that line of play...
i think the good Dangers are far too chaotic to come back from the list, even if dark world is not an amazing deck, it's so horrible for future proof, because every deck that can dump shit and has good dark synergy will run the danger engine, and the danger engine is SO TEDIOUS to play with, I don't wanna sit and watch my opp rolling dices 5 to 6 times in a row the same turn
Not gonna happen. Snake-Eyes is Konami's current pet deck. Until they move on to the next one, there aren't going to be any major hits in Snake-Eyes itself. ...but yes, hitting some of their cards would solve the problem.
Raidraptor enjoyer here, Kali Yuga needs to die forever and permanently, I hate the fact that one of my favorite decks has been defined by a card that isn't even its own
You can try to severely hit the Snake-Eyes consistency like Ash to 1, WANTED to 1, Poplar to 1, Diabellastar to 2, and then maybe Bonfire to 2 Edit: add Original Sinful Spoils to 1 aswell
Wanted to 1 is fine, but I don’t like consistency hits for the most part because you can still do the combo it’s just more sacky when you do. It’s a rough way to play the game. Wanted is just diabel + another draw so limiting that still keeps the engine consistent
you kinda didnt say anything to justify fenrir to 3. you just talked about pankratops and why its fine for HIM to come back to 3. despite the similarities fenrir isnt the same card as pankratops, and shouldnt just get lumped in just cause its decent going second. especially since the person going first can just summon fenrir too, making its going second ability moot
Dude this is a TCG video. Fenrir is already at 3. I don’t need to justify it. I’m arguing pank isn’t as good and should come back compared to fenrir and other going second staples
If you want kash to check snake eyes you being back mind hacker not arise. Snake eyes is weak to the main deck banishing and its the less toxic of the two cards. Which honestly says a lot, and is why neither change is going to happen.
Why the fuck would you bring Kahtira back? I rather play versus snake eyes all day al least in that match up i can you my zones to actually play the game.
Hot take; unban expulsion. Then unban and unlimit all tear and ishizu cards. Then watch snake eyes cry as they're put under a disciple lock in the face of tear 😂😂😂
I like the hiita hit, I just played a game where I hand trapped twice, one being an ash the other imperm, and the opponent was able to still full combo because of hiita allowing the player to push through and revive their SE Ash
@@NinthSettler is it generic? I also disagre with ur takes on banning Link kuriboh and jet synhron like they are not the problem cards... The problem cards are snake eye cards.. Why always dance around the problem istead of fixing it directly, reminds me of the insane bans in master duel tear format where they limited cards like king of the swamp and foolish burial goods instead of tackling the actual tear cards. Also bannig Hiita :DDDD? are you actually insane?
We are dancing around it cuz the cards just came out. If Konami sets a precedent of nuking a deck that just came out and is a ton of money, people will be way less likely to buy a meta deck. I think at some point Konami should hard ban some of the snake eyes cards down the road
Ban all floodgates but bring Kashtira back where their floodgate comes out turn 1 99% of the time and they don't even have to draw it XD Also One for One is not bad card design. It was just made at a time when lvl 1 monster were not Super OP. Just saying...
Oh at the time one for one is fine. But it has become badly designed as power creep has grown infinitely faster since its release right? Block dragon was fine was on release
@@captainvafeas9018It's really annoying when cards from your rogue-at-best archetype get crippled to hurt other decks. It's why I really dislike generic summoning materials. Would people play or care about Baronne-de-Fleur if she needed in-archetype material? And if Jet Synchron is a great card that gets abused everywhere but in its own archetype, then lock it into the archetype. Sadly I don't think that's going to happen.
@@BreadBoyWeeb it's probably the best decision, I just wish time wizard got support so there was a place to officially park metas as unique as tear zero, unironically one of my favourite periods in md

Because Nightmare lock is still a thing with Sanctifire, and it's still toxic. Even most Branded players (that don't Nightmare lock) think it's unnecessary as is, from what I've seen. (Correct me if I'm wrong) If Sanctifire was fixed so that there were more restrictions on its summon to the opponent's field, it could stay. As it is? It needs to go.
@@BreadBoyWeeb they are all at one. we can limit the field if it feels necessary but really... not that big of a deal. (it's not like I'm asking for elf back... THAT would be insane) I think it brings tear closer to snake eyes level(maybe a bit above but not overwhelmingly so), so we escape tier 0 by also bringing tear back alongside kash. (honestly we can do this to a lot of decks, pretty sure we can afford to get some zoodiac stuff off the list...probably not spyral master plan) unless they actually hit snake-eyes... then kit and arise can remain in the banlist.
Jesus said a stupid comment of keeping floodgates in to help beginners when you get easy wins know you're totally wrong floodgates are to help the most skilled players floodgates do not help they helped the most skilled veterans
One for one is kind of like instant fusion where every few years the card gets more and more broken as levels mean less and less
2. Duel Links based
I want to see more unhits from previous meta decks to try and give some diversity than just ariseheart
Let Circular free!
@@geek593I definitely disagree that circular could come back to 3. That card is horribly designed and mega broken in the fact that it is a one card combo that still facilitates a combo all on its own even if it gets negated by ash or imperm.
@@weneurysm Bro the endboard resulting from Matchmech is so bad it doesn't matter that circular is unbanned
Banning sanc is fine, it's useless anyway (unless you play the braindead lock)
It's supposed to be a plan b for branded, but when was the last time anyone ever used it for that purpose?
Exactly. I think the deck is a ton of fun when you are just playing the main engine
No comment except bring back electrumite, astrograph, and plushfire.
I wonder what deck you like
I'd rather Electrumite stay banned.
I think he plays solfachord guys
@geek593 You know, this is a solid argument against Electrumite that I hadn't considered before. We have new good (but not broken) pendulum support links in Beyond and Exceed, so we don't actually _need_ Electrumite. Pile decks are boring af (just look at most Cyberse decks).
...personally, I think Electrumite should get an errata so it only works with Metalfoes, but we all know that isn't gonna happen :V
Also, yes, Astrograph is absolutely necessary.
That's not spicy that was always the correct hit.
Personally I think Knightmares as a whole should just be removed from the game (and yes, that includes Iblee). But that's just me
Yugioh is just beyond help at this point, gotta start from scratch 💀💀
There is a way out, I believe.
Less focus on disruption, more focus on being unaffected.
Obviously just a crude take, but I personally see potential in it. Allows people to play their game and brings more focus back on combat between cards.
@@janelantestaverde2018I say try it by applying it into a custom alt format to see where the strengths of weaknesses from applying your idea are.
They did with Rush Duels, but Konami hasn't pushed them outside Japan and Korea (and Duel Links)
If only fans could come up with their own custom format that could become popular enough for Konami to want to support it. Like what happend in MTG.
Yugioh rush duel:
Kash is good going second. Bad first. Arise is good at 1
@@geek593 So, the back row floodgate is stronger than the monster floodgate that can be used easily and more consistently, because you're too lazy to add the right card in your deck. Solid reason, indeed. We better ban all back rows to make a better place for players like you.
.for
Evenly, Lightning Storm, and Pank (if it is at 3) will be good equalizers for that too.
@@renaldyhaenYes.
There's a reason why Spell Canceller is only used in the most arcane brews, while Anti Spell and IO are common side and main deck cards.
I think a funnier deck to bring back to deal with Snake Eye is to put each tear name to 3
no millers and no kit just buffs consistency and removes the gamba aspect of current builds.
Bring back some Tearlament cards too; having Kash, Tear and Snake will create a space for other things to challenge the meta as the variety will do that naturally and at least you have a choice form 3 different decks with very different playstyles.
imagine how toxic you have to be to get little ol linkuriboh banned
I mean, you can disagree but he gave a good explanation on why he made the suggestion. It is a controversial opinion, not a toxic one.

They teased Kirin in the Majespecter support and it didn't come back. I mad
I like the idea of arieseheart coming back when the graves get out of hand, then getting banned one or two formats later. Seems in character.
Examples include
Making Master Peace require 2 tribute of the SAME card type, instead of 2 different types and it is immune to that 1 type.
Making Halq require Crystrons to summon, or to not let it be used as link material, or not the summoned monster use link material, or to summon a crystron (they really messed up halq)
Requiring Elpy-Pisty-Agarpain to need a guardragon monster to be link summoned.
Requiring Borreload Savage Dragon to have a Rokket Tuner
Ect.

Change it to ciberse. Dark is less linkuribohs thing.
Well, I can certainly agree with a Sanctifire ban, but that's more bias against Branded than anything-
(Also of note is that the new Gimmick Puppet support CANNOT NIGHTMARE LOCK THE OPPONENT ON THEIR TURN.

@@BreadBoyWeebAhh alright though I'm not sure if Konami has ever just banned a card for a format and then unbanned it the next. I still wouldn't want that though cause I play the deck lmao.

Have you ever even read Ariseheart or do you get all your opinions from Farfa?
how to break out of Snake-Eyes Tier Zero: unban Ishizu Tearlaments, water beats fire
I play games all the time using summer limit I've been using summon limit ever since it came out and the games are always fun with them because it doesn't let players summon more than twice per turn that makes the game fun when opponent or anybody can summon 3or4or5or6 times a turn is not fun
I think Flamberge Dragon will be banned. Because in the Snake-Eye Lore there is another boss monster that does not yet exist as a card.
I think eventually it should be
Better solution: unban kirin, ishizu shufflers or unlimit the tears, unlimit all the purrely stuff and block dragon to semi, so then we have options with the powerhouses snake eye, purrely, adamancipator, tearlaments and majespecter (MAYBE floo but everyone hates that deck so it’s excluded)

I mostly agree, but as a Skull Servant player i have a bone to pick with you. Leave my boy linkuriboh alone Õ___Õ
Jokes aside, it feels really bad to lose cards that see play on a lot of decks because the top one can also use it, so i kinda not agree that much on some cards (linkuriboh, one for one, hiita).
If you say Summon Limit and Anti-Spell... don't forget Deck Lockdown 😅

I don’t think kash would become tier 0 over even this hit version of snake eyes
give all snake eye cards the tearlaments treatment limit all to 1 and the spells to 2
I dislike hits to generic cards to depower a deck. Thats just gonna depower everything
I mean I don't mind generic cards for specific levels or types, but I think as a 1 of, it's really sacky
You want to make deck spell compete to compete with snake eyes unbanned all flood gates
And you should never have any card banned that ocg doesn't have band that means summon limit would not band in the ocg
Snake eyes gave me Vietnam PTSD.
How about just banning gimmick puppet nightmare and the other cards similar to it? As far as I can tell no one uses any of them, so it wouldn't negatively affect players.
you could, but it would be like 7-10 different cards to ban when the problem card is sanctifire
@@BreadBoyWeeb is it really that many? I was under the impression there were a handful of monsters that have an effect like the gimmick puppet.
I disagree with all your points except one. Bring back Master peace indeed!! I'm with you on that one.
This format needs help
i think the good Dangers are far too chaotic to come back from the list, even if dark world is not an amazing deck, it's so horrible for future proof, because every deck that can dump shit and has good dark synergy will run the danger engine, and the danger engine is SO TEDIOUS to play with, I don't wanna sit and watch my opp rolling dices 5 to 6 times in a row the same turn
Banning poplar would literally completely fix this format on its own
Also chaos space to 3 come on konami
Not gonna happen. Snake-Eyes is Konami's current pet deck. Until they move on to the next one, there aren't going to be any major hits in Snake-Eyes itself.
...but yes, hitting some of their cards would solve the problem.
@@gyppygirl2021 I didn’t say that’s what they were going to do
@@gamakujira64e23 Fair enough. I do agree with your initial point :p
unban tearelement cards in full power to have the two tier zero decks duke it out.
why does everyone say "ban the turnskip" and no one says anything about King Calamity, Kali Yuga, Amorphactor Pain, etc.
VFD is banned and the other turn skips are fragile gimmicks.
@@geek593 meant King Calamity but that's definitely not fragile
I tried to keep it to whats super meta relevant rn. But yeah I wish those cards were gone as well
Raidraptor enjoyer here, Kali Yuga needs to die forever and permanently, I hate the fact that one of my favorite decks has been defined by a card that isn't even its own
I find it odd that you’re advocating for Master Peace to come back and also heavily against similarly weak cards coming off
You know the banned list is not too balance or correct the game it is to sell cards and to push to sell so they can make lots of money
Konami better not touch the only good charmer.
You can try to severely hit the Snake-Eyes consistency like Ash to 1, WANTED to 1, Poplar to 1, Diabellastar to 2, and then maybe Bonfire to 2
Edit: add Original Sinful Spoils to 1 aswell
Wanted to 1 is fine, but I don’t like consistency hits for the most part because you can still do the combo it’s just more sacky when you do. It’s a rough way to play the game. Wanted is just diabel + another draw so limiting that still keeps the engine consistent
We will accept misc to 2 or 3 as compensation for the linkuriboh ban, we can be trusted :)))))
you kinda didnt say anything to justify fenrir to 3. you just talked about pankratops and why its fine for HIM to come back to 3. despite the similarities fenrir isnt the same card as pankratops, and shouldnt just get lumped in just cause its decent going second. especially since the person going first can just summon fenrir too, making its going second ability moot
Dude this is a TCG video. Fenrir is already at 3. I don’t need to justify it. I’m arguing pank isn’t as good and should come back compared to fenrir and other going second staples
@@BreadBoyWeebmy mistake, ignore me then
An endless loop of modern ygo
Crossout can go f itself
Tier zero should have 3 Crossout 1 call by and TTT to combo passed hand traps
So many incredibly awful takes, with some good ones sprinkled in
If you want kash to check snake eyes you being back mind hacker not arise. Snake eyes is weak to the main deck banishing and its the less toxic of the two cards. Which honestly says a lot, and is why neither change is going to happen.
Nah the ban foe snake eyes should be Flamberge and Linkuriboh, Ariseheart to one is based. Also bring back Kitkallos
Flamberge is never going to get banned as long as Snake-Eyes are still selling. That's the point here - they have to ban around the deck.
Why the fuck would you bring Kahtira back? I rather play versus snake eyes all day al least in that match up i can you my zones to actually play the game.
Hot take; unban expulsion. Then unban and unlimit all tear and ishizu cards. Then watch snake eyes cry as they're put under a disciple lock in the face of tear 😂😂😂
...you know what, as someone who hates Branded (for non-meta reasons), I can get behind this
You fix it by unbanning Halq.
Didnt farfa just make a vid like this too
Strongest hand trap right now is not ash it's drolen lock bird
Uhm. Fenrir is at 3.
Edit: Nvm. Dumb comment.
I like the hiita hit, I just played a game where I hand trapped twice, one being an ash the other imperm, and the opponent was able to still full combo because of hiita allowing the player to push through and revive their SE Ash
Ban all the stupid floodgates or at least limit them all.
or make the game into something that is fun even if someone has 7 floodgates out
I think floodgates are fine if it’s the point of an archetype like colossus should be unbanned since it’s the point of thunder dragons to get it out
@@geminitricks2332 too generic to be unbanned, if it didn't have the alternate summon condition maybe but it's still an ariseheart at that point
@@NinthSettler is it generic? Yes, but MD has it at 1 and it literally has done nothing like if a deck isn’t running thunder dragons it’s only option is to use corridor but that too much of a luck sack cause they can’t search it it be the same in the tcg in that it’s generic but only thunder deck can really run it to some success
@@geminitricks2332 OCG literally just printed another thunder with a hand effect that summons itself, Colossus being functionally a Link-1 was a mistake.
Ban all floodgates but bring Kashtira back where their floodgate comes out turn 1 99% of the time and they don't even have to draw it XD
Also One for One is not bad card design. It was just made at a time when lvl 1 monster were not Super OP. Just saying...
Oh at the time one for one is fine. But it has become badly designed as power creep has grown infinitely faster since its release right? Block dragon was fine was on release
Bring colossus to 1 so I can do the funny stuff
Pls dont do this to me with Jet Synchron, my poor Synchron deck needs all the help it can get 😢
That card needs an errata. Lock the player into Synchron extra deck monsters once you use the revive.
@@Runenschuppe That's actually a great idea
@@captainvafeas9018It's really annoying when cards from your rogue-at-best archetype get crippled to hurt other decks. It's why I really dislike generic summoning materials. Would people play or care about Baronne-de-Fleur if she needed in-archetype material? And if Jet Synchron is a great card that gets abused everywhere but in its own archetype, then lock it into the archetype. Sadly I don't think that's going to happen.
I'd rather have tear come back to compete against SE than kash
I would too but tear has so much power unbanning a single card can swing the meta too much so I wanted to be more careful
@@BreadBoyWeeb it's probably the best decision, I just wish time wizard got support so there was a place to officially park metas as unique as tear zero, unironically one of my favourite periods in md
Do you have a discord server?
I will probably make one once I’m a bit bigger, but my Twitter is in my profile if you wanna follow
Ban Red Archfiend Calamity as well
Dan Moore cards that are not awfully designed the barrier statues are not awfully designed they're perfectly it's not unfair and it's not unbalanced at all just learn to around it
It’s funny I play MD and poplar a UR
means he will not get hit...and all md knows cause all cards of the engine are UR. watch them ban all fire decks in MD so they dont have to refund UR spend XD.
Why do you want to ban albion? the deck is dead right now.
Because Nightmare lock is still a thing with Sanctifire, and it's still toxic. Even most Branded players (that don't Nightmare lock) think it's unnecessary as is, from what I've seen. (Correct me if I'm wrong)
If Sanctifire was fixed so that there were more restrictions on its summon to the opponent's field, it could stay. As it is? It needs to go.
how to fix.... play edison or goat format...thats much more fun
If we get ariseheart back, I want kit back.
This is non-negotiable. The ishizus are banned, it's fine.
Narrator: "It wasn't fine, however."
@@geek593 it was very much fine
kit with all the tear names? That is a little scary. (personally I want them to but idk how great it will be for balance but i enjoyed tear a lot)
@@BreadBoyWeeb they are all at one. we can limit the field if it feels necessary but really... not that big of a deal. (it's not like I'm asking for elf back... THAT would be insane)
I think it brings tear closer to snake eyes level(maybe a bit above but not overwhelmingly so), so we escape tier 0 by also bringing tear back alongside kash. (honestly we can do this to a lot of decks, pretty sure we can afford to get some zoodiac stuff off the list...probably not spyral master plan)
unless they actually hit snake-eyes... then kit and arise can remain in the banlist.
Simorgh???
Pot of green to 1, giving it an eratta where its a once per duel effect.
Nah dont screw over synchro players with their jet and one for one, punish those losers that pay 1k for a bs deck and ban all their cards
I think jet can come back later once we ban some of the snake eyes cards later.
But one for one is just too much power in a sacky one of imo
Don't ban jet
Bro talking as if every duel we will get ash and one for one not knowing we pull 3 veiler going first
I don’t think you will, but I don’t think one for one is a healthy card as a random 1 of that can extend to the moon
Jesus said a stupid comment of keeping floodgates in to help beginners when you get easy wins know you're totally wrong floodgates are to help the most skilled players floodgates do not help they helped the most skilled veterans
I prefer playing against full power snake eyes or full power tear than to play against kashtira with or without ariseheart
