One of my favorite tracks from the 80s.
Living On Video by the canadian synthpop group Trans-X (1983)
Written by Pascal Languirand, produced by Dominique and Carmine Nicodemo
featured: Roland SH-101 Analog Synthesizer (1981)
This cover song series contains my own recreations of my favourite songs from the last 50 years. The original music from which I take inspiration belong to their respective owners. I recreate tracks only for personal passion and to pay homage to these tracks.
My intention is not to create covers that sound exactly like the original (if you want to hear identical sounds, please listen the original). It's more of an inspiration with my sounds from the old synthesizers from the past and of course the great appreciation for the original performers and producers.
Check out the original songs with the original artists here on UA-cam.
Thank you.

This is some kind of supernatural level of coolness. If a person uses a guitar, then it's already super cool, and with this thing, it's generally a "God" level!!! Thanks for this music video... I was very pleased with that.😊😎👍👍👍👍👍
Glad you like it. :) Thank you my friend!
@@retrosound72 🙏🙏🙏😊
Thanks. Great sound and wonderful to hear these awesome instruments.
Thank you so much 🎹🙌
Loved those parts playing with the filter cutoff and resonance on :-)
Thank you Jose 🎹🙌🎹
Sounds fresh. Well done. I like it.
Thank you for watching!
Absolute classic track done very well here. I still have the 12” vinyl from back then.
This was one of the early tracks I used to play on my first synth, a Roland SH1 sat on top of my parents Elka organ.
Thank you so much. And agree with you, a classic 🎹🙌
This brings back so many memories of being a teenager. Thanks mate.
Thank you for your time ✨🙌
Amazing recreation of this classic! 👍👍
Thank you so much 🎹🙌
It goes delightfully in and out of tune...
A true testament of very old, unstable vintage electronics.
I have a blue one, but it doesn't make sound anymore, and i don't really want to take it apart.
It hangs in my office on the wall for decoration.
My wife appreciates it as a piece of history that she thinks i should dust once in a while.
I never had the balls to use it as a strapped on version when i was playing live...always layed it on a stand.
😅
Yes, and not every ear likes the little change of the tune. I like it when the synthesisers are alive, when they have involuntary fluctuations in tuning. Today, everything sounds far too smooth and sterile. That's also why music has become so boring. A blue SH is really very rare. It's worth dusting off. Thank you for your feedback and have a nice weekend
@@retrosound72 my p5 goes terribly out of tune also...but i'm used to it.
Unfortunately, the closest place for me to get it fixed is in toronto, and that's many hours from here.
I didn't know blue was rare...when i bought it, that's all they had left in the store, coz everybody bought the red or grey ones.
Best
Thank you! :))
Super!👏👏👏
Thank you!
Awesome, love it
Thank you John🙌
My man has a time machine! Er ist eine Zeitmaschine!
🙌✨
The future, as imagined in 1983, never sounded so good!!!
great track.
Thank you for watching!
🙌 a classic. love it, Marko!
Hey Jo. ✌️
Happy Weekend.🤸🏻☀️🎹
thank you, Marko. to you too!@@retrosound72
@@SynthiedBshock Thank you dear 🎹✨
Great track, I bought this single back in the day. I got the 12inch version because you got the single version on it and different versions. God I miss them days. Anyway great demo of this classic and love the red synth it sounds great. Don’t know much about these strap on keyboards only what I seen back in the day with people like Thomas Dolby, Howard Jones, etc using them. As always love your channel and the time you take to make these for us. You’re fantastic and a pro at what you do thank you. By the way I always thought the girl in the video to this song was hot lol. That was a 15 year old me then saying that when I saw the video on tv back then.
Like every week, a trip back to the days of good music. The soundtrack of our lives. I really like this track because it still sounds fresh and current even today. I can't get over it. Thank you very much for your great feedback Michael and have a nice weekend.
This channel is so cool.
Thank you so much 🙌🎹
I fantasized about getting my (now former) sister-in-law an SH-101 so she could cover bass parts (if we started our own band). She is a piano player, anyway.
Yes. The 101 is a fantastic bass synth.
Missed commenting on this

Really sounds better than the original!
Sure not better but different.

Wonderful cover. Btw, What do you think of Behringer MS101 and their analog clones of these vintage instruments?
Thank you! :)
I think only the original is the original ;)
Thats dope it sounds like you made the hole beat with the s h 101 I like that. What did you use for the drums?
