    Is the radio headset waterproof?? Is That to communicate to crew on chopper??

    OMG... this is soo unrealistic. The rescue swimmer should have a mask and snorkel on, not his non-water proof $4k helmet! If the sea state was worse, he'd need to place his head under the water to ensure the rescue harness is secured properly.

      Not very unrealistic if it is real ;-)... The helmet is waterproof and we were never considered to be 'Rescue Swimmers'. The RAF SAR Force had Winch Operators and Winchmen. In a rough sea (water rescue) the Winchman remained attached to the winch wire throughout and the WinchOp would 'voice marshal' the highly skilled pilot to remain in position. With our training, techniques and experience it was not necessary to put your head in the water for a look but if required we could recover the casualty a few feet above the Winchman in order to clear entanlements.
