T4. Spare rollers are very affordable. It is still competitive and spare parts are less money. Although, sometimes you can get a Mugen factory driver built new for about $400. But the Xray is a more durable car.
I guess it depends what you consider to be "way lighter". But you are right in that it is lighter. You will have to add weights to it to make it through tech for a class running 1325g minimum fully dressed. Lately I have been running an MTC2 by Mugen and it is even lighter than an X4. But I still have to add weights. The only advantage I see as of now is that I can add the weight to other parts of the car. But the T4 is simply a tank and the best car for the occasional racer.
@telecomandorc appreciate the feedback. I currently run the express At1 pro in vta. I have to be mindful of what I put on the chassis cause I've been overweight before. Guys with X4's and mtc2's have a bunch of weight added to make weight. I was gonna get a used x4 23 but you got me rethinking that for the mugen. I don't run regular electronics. (Protek 270tbl servo, hw V3.1 stock esc, hw 25.5 g3). They're pretty heavy. A lighter car might give me better options but man do I love that shaft drive
@@donnienicholson180 I do like the MTC2 and picked some up for $400 from Mugen built by a team driver from their ebay store. I would not recommend a used one unless it's about $250 in tip top shape.
What car out of these two would you consider for a beginner?

Thank you.
My pleasure.
Isn't the X4 way lighter than the t4 20-21 cars?
And the bd11?
