It was truly fascinating to witness how they were able to sell fresh sheep and chickens on a daily basis, without the need for modern refrigeration methods. Additionally, as I made my way through the market, I came across shallow ponds where live carp fish were kept for sale, adding to the unique and authentic experience.
The market itself seemed to have everything one could possibly need for their daily necessities, from fresh produce and spices to household items and clothing. Despite its somewhat primitive appearance, the market was undeniably bustling with activity and energy. As I wandered through the narrow aisles, I couldn't help but feel a sense of happiness and immersion in the rich culture and tradition that permeated the air.

Goodness, why is that place so dilapidated and in ruin?? Some one needs to completely and totally rebuild that city and its holy shrine. Where are the trees and flowers, fountains (and refregirators for all the food out there in the sun's heat)?? Damn Saddam Hussein did a real job on that holy city, didnt he? Poor Karbala--and Najaf. They should be at least as developed and beautiful as Mashhad
