There were many kaabas in the region at the time. Muslims think that their kabba is the most important/special, but it's not:
The Kaaba of Al-Sharif is believed to have been built in the 5th or 6th century CE by the Jurhum tribe, one of the pre-Islamic Arab tribes that inhabited the region. The tribe was known for their worship of the goddess al-Lat, and the Kaaba is said to have housed a statue of the deity. The Kaaba of Al-Sharif was transformed into a mosque by Muslims.
The Kaaba of Al-Abwa was built by the Banu 'Amir tribe in the 7th century, who inhabited the region prior to the rise of Islam. The tribe was known for their devotion to the god al-Uzza
The Kaaba of Dhul Khalasa in Yemen, believed to have been built by the Himyarite kingdom in the 4th century CE. It was ordered to be destroyed by Muhammad (Sahih al-Bukhari 3823).
The Kaaba of Hubal was located in the city of Petra in Jordan and was dedicated to the moon-god Hubal. It was destroyed by the Muslims in the 7th century during the Islamic conquests.

Allah has pardoned what has passed and he who has returned, Allah takes vengeance on him. And Allah is mighty, a possessor of vengeance.
S 5:97 Allah has made the Ka’bah, the Sacred House, an establishment for people, and the sacred month and the hadi and the garlands. That is that you may know that Allah knows what is in the skies and what is on the Earth and that Allah is learned in everything.
S 8:34 And what do they have that Allah should not torture them while they block from the Sacred Mosque and were not its protectors? Its protectors are nothing but the fearers but most of them do not know.
S 8:35 And their salat at the house was nothing but whistling and clapping. So taste the torture because you used to disbelieve.

If al-nas signifies mankind and if the Ka'bah was built for the 'alamin, the worlds, then what business do Muslims have saying that pilgrimage is optional? And if the Ka'bah was bult for the 'alamin, why are mushrikun and others forbidden from visiting?
Abu Huraira reported God’s messenger as saying, “An Abyssinian with short legs will destroy the Ka'ba.” Bukhari and Muslim.

Jabir reported that there was in pre-Islamic days a temple called Dhu'l- Khalasah and it was called the Yamanite Ka'ba or the northern Ka'ba. Allah's Messenger (ﷺ) said unto me:
Will you rid me of Dhu'l-Khalasah and so I went forth at the head of 350 horsemen of the tribe of Ahmas and we destroyed it and killed whomsoever we found there. Then we came back to him (to the Holy Prophet) and informed him and he blessed us and the tribe of Ahmas.

There were something like 26 ka'bahs in the Arabian Peninisula. Regarding Dhu'l-Khalasah we read:
Narrated Abu Huraira:
Allah's Messenger (ﷺ) said, "The Hour will not be established till the buttocks of the women of the tribe of Daus move while going round Dhi-al-Khalasa." Dhi-al-Khalasa was the idol of the Daus tribe which they used to worship in the Pre Islamic Period of ignorance.

But haven't we just read that Dhul Khalasah was destroyed? May we yet expect the buttocks of the women of the tribe of Daus to move while circumambulating their ka'bah?

I am curious, though. Dr. al-Jallad, during an interview with Gabriel Said Reynolds, did claim that Arabia was monotheistic for a century or more prior to Islam, and that epigraphic evidence supports that. Is there a discrepency between his writing and his interview?

It was narrated from Abu Hurairah that the Messenger of Allah (ﷺ) said:
“Our Lord, the Blessed and Exalted, descends when one third of the night remains, every night and He says: ‘Who will ask of Me, that I may give him? Who will call upon Me, that I may answer him? Who will ask My forgiveness, that I may forgive him?’ until dawn comes.” Hence they used to prefer voluntary prayers at the end of the night rather than at the beginning. : Sunan Ibn Majah 1366

The word masjid is derived from the verb sajada 'to do sujud' and is of pre-Islamic use. It signifies 'a place of sujud'.
S 7:29 Say: My lord has commanded equity and set your faces at every mosque and invoke him sincere towards him in the religion. As he began you do you return.
S 7:31 Banu Adam, take your adornment at every mosque and eat and drink and do not exceed. He does not love the exceeders.
The 'Banu Adam' are human beings in general and aren't all Muslims. And as the original masajid were places of doing sujud, does this verse apply to churches and to even Hindu, etc., temples?
The plural occurs in three verses.
S 2:114 And who is more unjust than he who has prevented the mosques of Allah, his name to be mentioned in them and has striven for their ruin? Those, theirs was not to enter them except terrified. Theirs in the dunya is disgrace and theirs in the hereafter is great torture.
Christians supposedly worship Allah. If a Muslim damages a church in which Arabic is spoken, is he possibly preventing Allah's name from being mentioned?
S 9:17 It was not for the mushrikun to restore the mosques of Allah witnessing against themselves in kufr. Those, their deeds have become worthless and in the fire they abide indefinitely.
S 9:18 Only one who has believed in Allah and the last day and has performed salat and given the zakat and has not feared but Allah restores the mosques of Allah. Then perhaps those that they be of the guided.

Personally I don't think it helps or solves anything...and i'm on this channel cos I don't like listening to people shouting on top of each other - it takes me back to unhappy times in my life where nothing was solved through shouting, but some things were lost. Firm speaking is different from shouting.

I second your opinion.
I have never had much shouting in my family, but I dislike stress and disharmony. And shouting gives me negative feelings like a loss in motivation to listening and stress if the shouting is directed at me.
I personally do not care about insults at all. But insults tend to come when people have no argument left. And since I care about arguments and information, insults are a good indication for less productive conversations.
But I've noticed that Thaddeus listens to the viewers and he is actively improving his style and behavior. So I don't think Thaddeus will turn into an insult and shouting king. But I can see that this environment of heated world view debate will pose many challenges along the way.

Since one of the titles of Satan is Deceiver and Allah is known as the best of deceivers, it follows that Allah and Satan are one and the same. It’s very sad that Muslims do not realise that they are worshipping Satan together with his minion, Mohammed. Lorenzo is an excellent example of one who is totally in the grip of Satan. Freemasons for the most part, do not discover that they worship Satan until they have reached the top degrees in the organisation. 2Corinthians 4:4, “Satan, who is the god of this world, has blinded the minds of those who don’t believe. They are unable to see the glorious light of the Good News. They don’t understand this message about the glory of Christ, who is the exact likeness of God.” That sums up Islam in a nutshell.
I always love it when Muslims say, the Quran can't be from the devil because the Quran says we shouldn't follow the devil. As if Satan would blatantly say that he is the head of his many religions.

The ancient tribal name of the Chaldaeans was Kaldu. They were just north of Aram proper. The migrated into southern Babylon in the 10th or 9th c BC, shortly after the main Aramaean migration. They spoke the same language, but I think different dialects.

S 7:158 Say: People, I am Allah’s messenger to you all, the one whose is the dominion of the skies and the Earth. There is no god but him. He vivifies and causes to die. So believe in Allah and his messenger, the ummi prophet, the one who believes in Allah and his words, and follow him; perhaps you will be guided.
I am strongly of the opinion that the author's word ummi is a form of the word umami 'gentile'. Today the word he uses bears the signification of 'illiterate', although it also means 'maternal', but there's no good reason to assume that he was illiterate. Definitely not maternal :)) Let's consider a few ahadith.
Narrated Sa`id bin Jubair:
that he heard Ibn `Abbas saying, "Thursday! And you know not what Thursday is? After that Ibn `Abbas wept till the stones on the ground were soaked with his tears. On that I asked Ibn `Abbas, "What is (about) Thursday?" He said, "When the condition (i.e. health) of Allah's Messenger (ﷺ) deteriorated, he said, 'Bring me a bone of scapula, so that I may write something for you after which you will never go astray.'The people differed in their opinions although it was improper to differ in front of a prophet, They said, 'What is wrong with him? Do you think he is delirious? Ask him (to understand). The Prophet (ﷺ) replied, 'Leave me as I am in a better state than what you are asking me to do.' Then the Prophet (ﷺ) ordered them to do three things saying, 'Turn out all the pagans from the Arabian Peninsula, show respect to all foreign delegates by giving them gifts as I used to do.' " The sub-narrator added, "The third order was something beneficial which either Ibn `Abbas did not mention or he mentioned but I forgot.'

When the time of the death of the Prophet (ﷺ) approached while there were some men in the house, and among them was `Umar bin Al-Khatttab, the Prophet (ﷺ) said, "Come near let me write for you a writing after which you will never go astray." `Umar said, "The Prophet (ﷺ) is seriously ill, and you have the Qur'an, so Allah's Book is sufficient for us." The people in the house differed and disputed. Some of them said, "Come near so that Allah's Messenger (ﷺ) may write for you a writing after which you will not go astray," while some of them said what `Umar said. When they made much noise and differed greatly before the Prophet, he said to them, "Go away and leave me." Ibn `Abbas used to say, "It was a great disaster that their difference and noise prevented Allah's Messenger (ﷺ) from writing that writing for them.

So `Ali bin Abi- Talib started writing the treaty between them. He wrote, "This is what Muhammad, Apostle of Allah has agreed to." The (Meccans) said, "If we knew that you (Muhammad) are the Messenger of Allah, then we would not have prevented you and would have followed you. But write, 'This is what Muhammad bin `Abdullah has agreed to..' " On that Allah's Messenger (ﷺ) said, "By Allah, I am Muhammad bin `Abdullah, and, by Allah, I am Apostle of 'Allah." Allah's Messenger (ﷺ) used not to write; so he asked `Ali to erase the expression of Apostle of Allah. On that `Ali said, "By Allah I will never erase it." Allah's Apostle said (to `Ali), "Let me see the paper." When `Ali showed him the paper, the Prophet (ﷺ) erased the expression with his own hand. When Allah's Messenger (ﷺ) had entered Mecca and three days had elapsed, the Meccans came to `Ali and said, "Let your friend (i.e. the Prophet) quit Mecca." `Ali informed Allah's Messenger (ﷺ) about it and Allah's Messenger (ﷺ) said, "Yes," and then he departed.

Allah is called a shakhs, a physical being.
Quoting from one of Sam Shamoun’s articles we read:
As Dr. Wesley Williams, a scholar of Islamic studies, states,
Al-Bukhari and Muslim report a hadith from the Prophet on the authority of the Companion of Al-Mughira b. Shu‘ba: “No shakhs is more jealous than Allah; no shakhs is more pleased to grant pardon than He; no shakhs loves praiseworthy conduct more than He.”68 Allah is thus a shakhs. The term shakhs is usually translated as ‘corporeal person.’ It connotes “the bodily or corporeal form or figure or substance (suwad) of a man,” or “something possessing height (irtifa‘) and visibility (zuhur),”69 Ibn Manzur informs us in his Lisan al-‘Arab (7, 45, 4-11). Ibn al-Jawzi, in his Kitab Akhbar al-Sifat 53-54, admits as well that the term shakhs implies existence of a body (jism) composed of parts, for one terms something a shakhs because it possesses corporeality (shukhus) and height (irtifa).” God, we are thus informed, is a person with a physical body.
As a shakhs the God of the Sunna has a visible form (sura), and it is anthropomorphic. According to a sahih (sound) report Adam’s form is a likeness of this divine form.

We only went through about 600 BC in this, which is part 1 of the pre-Islamic history of Arabia. Mecca hasn't really entered into it yet. That said, the evidence is not archaeological, it is documentary. And Mary is certainly in agreement that nothing remotely like the Muslim claim of a grand city is true, rather Mecca was a tiny backwater village.

He knew that you will not enumerate it so he has repented for you, so read what has got easier of the Quran. He knew that there would be sick men among you and others travelling in the land seeking Allah’s favour and others fighting in the way of Allah. So read what has got easier of it and establish salat and give the zakat and give Allah a goodly loan. And what you offer for yourselves of good you find it with Allah. It is better and greater as a wage. And ask Allah for forgiveness. Allah is a forgiver, merciful.
