Just glued up a box myself, now for the paint, nice review mucker. I never thought about removing the spike from the home service helmets re the film, bugger! I can feel another box coming along, cheers for that!
@@jameslangham9854 they apparently depict the 66th regiments last stand at maiwand , these poses and representation would look even better at Isandhlwana or Rorke's drift . The sprue can be brought on eBay for about £3.99 per frame . Thanks for replying .
A bit of research later - it looks as if they wouldn't fit (I had a feeling they might not otherwise why two sets?). The Afghanistan/Sudan set has the troops with puttees while the Zulu War set has higher boots. I can't find any photographs from the Zulu War with puttees being worn.
Possibly, not sure I would bother personally although it would give the packs that might be useful outside Rourke's Drift and Isandlwana. There might also be other differences too that I haven't picked up yet.
Your video inspired me to go for the plastic Perry set. I'm very pleased with them. Thanks! :)
Glad I could help!

If we all thought the same it would be boring... Glad you liked the review.
The arm raising the helmet is IDEAL for the units baritone singer: "ly ly lee-lo ly ly ly ly low......"
😎
[Looks for a head resembling Ivor Emmanuel...]
Lol
Or perhaps the most barrel chested figure in the box and fashion some sideburns out of milliput??
Wonderful Video! Very helpful to a Yank building Brits!
Glad it was helpful!
Just what I was lookng for, nice review, thank you.
Glad it was useful.
Thankyou. Fantastic review👍
Thank you
I enjoyed the review thanks for posting . Regards Gav.
Thank you, much appreciated
Nice . Can the Afghanistan British infantry set from Perry's be converted to Zulu war infantry?
I'm not sure to be honest as I don't own any. If I see some cheap (or someone has a spare sprue) I will acquire and review.

@@jameslangham9854 thank you for replying and researching. Maybe the puttees can be filed back and modified somehow.

Thinking of getting into the Zulu war period, would you recommend these or warlords figures?
Difficult call but I'm looking at a review of the Warlord ones very soon.
The Home Service version could be used for a Wellsian game against the French or Prussian figures coming up from Perry.
Just shows how flexible the set is!
@@jameslangham9854 I suppose the Perry Franco-Prussian figures would also fit into Space 1889.
Maybe with Wargames Atlantic lizard men Askaris?
Thanks James I just made a Perry's order lol
they make a great looking force.
@@jameslangham9854 I’m mixing perry ,warlord and empress
@@walkaboutgamez2502 I've used a few Warlord too.
