I’m going to aggressively brag about JiU for a minute because not enough people do: I always say that the actions of a group depict the quality of their leader, and JiU proves it. Dreamcatcher is one of the closest (if not the closest) groups I have ever seen. Each member loves and admires the next and there is never any real tension. They cry with eachother, they laugh with eachother (a lot), and they are always there for eachother. But JiU is at the center of it all. Her parents raised her with so much love (Idol Family gives you a peak if you’re curious) and now she has so much to give. She is like a mouthful of sugar 24/7. Her ability to show affection (a trait lacking in most Koreans) has rubbed off on every member and now they are just a ball of love. To give you an example, the way JiU makes the girls make up after a fight is by holding eachothers hands and saying ‘I love you’… like what other group does that. It has lead to all of them having a deep respect for JiU (even though they bully her lol). Another example, when they played Mafia, JiU kept getting on her knees to beg for the girls to believe her when she said she was innocent. Everytime she dropped down to her knees, half of the girls did too (a sign of respect in Korea as getting on your knees is like surrendering seniority/pride in exchange for forgiveness). She is also really smart… like REALLY smart and talented af. She really makes Dreamcatcher whole and doesn’t get enough credit for it. Long story short, I love Minji and you should too… 😆
Amen! And the other girls only didn't get down because it was an obvious game. Most of them do bow and show respect in some way. All of DC has said that JiU is the only one who can lead them and they love on her whenever they can. JiU's said that DC is easy to lead because everyone knows what they have to do. Her role is to listen and give the girls what they need to get the best out of themselves and she does. Offering Siyeon her hand whenever she's anxious or overwhelmed, calming SuA when she needs it, providing comfort and support to Yoohyeon when she's not sure what to do, switching fluidly with Dami's mood to be who she needs her to be, always supporting and hyping up Handong and letting her know how proud she is of her, and being a fantastic unnie to Gahyeon... She's the best, truly.
Yeah, as well as Mind, they also have a ton of individual member vlogs, as well as Dreamcatcher Notes, which are behind-the-scenes videos from promotions and videos shoots etc. There's also a series of shorts called Between Dreamcatcher and Me, which consists of one-on-one interviews with the girls (minus Handong, who was in China at the time) about their relationships with each other. And everything on their own channel is safe to react to; they actually encourage it!
