The whole tree/zombie thing and "glowing green eyes" gave it away for me- that the "virus" is that he's turning into a Timberwolf. Maybe a werewolf type of transformation, which I really loved about this story!
I think timberwolf is more accurate since werewolf implies they could turn back after certain aspects are met. But these kinds of stories are really interesting. Makes you really want to learn more
Weirdly out of character for AJ to not trust Two given they literally have a trusting bond and their interaction in the first episode. I felt kind of like this was one of those weaker-written episodes where AJ's pride took over and that's what somebody used as a basis. I wouldn't say it's terribly out of character but I feel like the ending was less grimdark and more excessive and unnecessary on top of the fact family mattered far more than the farm in this story. Either way you did an amazing job reading this story.
