- "Winter Time" Here along the Alabama Gulf Coast means Windy Days And Low Water the majority of the time ! In this video we experience both on our morning adventure. The speckled trout bite was pretty good for the first half of the morning but the wind eventually got so bad where it was very difficult to fish so we just called it a day..and of course the water was so low that my truck was bogging down trying to pull the boat out of the launch but thankfully some law enforcement officers were there and gave us a good idea to try and get in out!

It's a love hate relationship with these super low winter tides. Makes the fishing real good in some my area's but makes loading the boat tricky !!!
I feel the same way. The low water will sometimes concentrate fish in smaller areas easier to fish
4x4 low won’t dig holes like 4x4 high will in lose sandy stuff ,

Do you have issues with the first set of launches being uneven? I have a 22 bxbr and it seems like the trailer has been off to one side the last few times we launched there
Yes they are really uneven and have a severe drop off especially in a low tide which is why I didn’t launch there this day. I hope they fix it up this year

I would say it’s time for a bigger truck but who can justify 100k and 7% interest rates for the needed extra truck every now and then
I agree, I’m actually in the process of getting a 2500 soon, however I hadn’t had a problem at any other launch until this day
Been there done that, and sweated through my t shirt. Launched at the “sketchy” Courthouse rd launch at a super high tide, two hours later, it was the Sahara. Backed the trailer up, got into the washout, and almost lost it. I’ve had better days
