Hey scooby freak, I’ve been following you for a little while and I’m loving what you are doing with your car man. Big inspiration to my own 2020 STi. Do you have a video with a complete list of all the reliability mods you have? If not, do you think you can make one? If you want and can! Thanks man!
I’ve got the 2022 Wrx with the dual screen head unit. If they ever make a carbon fiber replacement for the flat black it’s gonna be a must have for me.
Do these headunits work well with amps and pre-outs? I love the size but I swapped out all of the speakers and have an Alpine amp that powers all of the speakers and the sub. Not a competition system wonder how this will compare to my $1000 Kenwood headunit.
How do you check for carbon fiber pattern direction primary to purchase? sometimes the preview image show a direction, then when you receive the part, it goes the different direction.
The problem I had/have with my idoing head unit was getting everything to fit with the star link box. It's bulky AF and doesn't fit nicely with the rest of the head unit so I really had to force it in there with some gaps showing.
Lately my iDoing head unit has been disconnecting off of carplay and my music will cut off every few seconds it never did this till recently . Is there any update I need to do for the head unit ?
I would check the wiring to make sure everything is securely plugged in. If everything looks ok, I would reach out to idoing to see what may be causing the issue.
Do you have an install video? i know there are plenty but I am trying to figure mine out and the back of mine looks like yours but other vids ive watched its different. thanks
@@Autofreakgarage i bought mine second hand from a dude with a 2016 sti, and i have a 2017. i dont know if he just didnt give me all of the harness or what. i reached out to idoing as well to see if i could repurchase the hardness.
I have the idoing for my 20 base wrx and absolutely love it. The only thing I haven't been able to figure out is the USB adapter to retain the USB Ports in the center console..and for some reason my 12v port under the headunit doesn't get power either. Any thoughts or tips to resolve it? Would really appreciate it!
@@Autofreakgarage I couldn't find the plug that fit the 12v, but maybe I'll have to go back in and look again. Still no luck with retaining power to the USB ports in the center console though.
Looks good the 🟥 hazard button is a clear winner.
Now you just need to get yourself a set of the carbon fiber rally spec mirrors.
Definitely would be interested in seeing a video on how to do the firmware update, if it is available.
Same here
Dude you’re interior is killer I love it
Those wheels are growing on me! They look a lot easier to clean than my Weds too.

I couldn’t find this on the jdm muscle website. Do you have a link to where you got it from?

Wow that looks soooo clean man nice install, might save up to do that myself lol
Simply put I love your subi and that carbon fit perfectly. I want it now lol. 😩
I just found out you can run guages on these head units seems like a great deal!
Awesome, my CF idoing trim is on the way!

Looks so good!!
Do you know how much these ste to the uk? And the best place to buy them from ?
Loving this car!
Please let us know if we are able to update our firmware to the newer one. Have been wondering about that
My 28 pin harness did not fit the 28 pin on the idoing one ,anyone know where I can get a adapter harness that fits the idoing one ?
Setup looks amazing. Quick question I see you didn't take apart the dash to remove the unit. Did you not install the mount bolts on each side?
The idoing just snaps into place. Stock unit is bolted in which takes much longer to remove/install.
Thank you for replying. I figured it might have been that but wasn’t sure. I should have mine by the end of the week
What’s the HP gain on this mod?
How do you check for carbon fiber pattern direction primary to purchase? sometimes the preview image show a direction, then when you receive the part, it goes the different direction.
You can ask the vendor prior to purchase.
Wow looks incredible 🔥 😎!
You ever thought before going with like a Pioneer head unit?
I don’t like the look of those. Makes the dash look too aftermarket. One of the main reasons why I like the idoing is because it looks very OEM.
Hey, I had a question about wrx’s. Can I add an exhaust and everything be fine with it?
Where'd you pick up the carbon fiber frame from?
Jdmmuscle
Hmmm yours didn’t come with a carbon fiber piece for the hazards button area? Mine came with two actually
No sir. Did not come with that.
Do you have the OLM CF dash trim pieces yet? Or just the stock ones?
They are stock. 2015-17 STI came with “carbon” trim. 2018+ they changed over to the gloss black.
Where did you get the CF hazard button?
I also need to know where this came from!
It’s explained in the video of where I got it
Do you have any issues or idea how to turn off the navigation system speed warnings lol gets annoying.
It’s in the settings somewhere. It’s been a while since I’ve done it, but I know it can be turned off.
Didn’t you have an extra head unit? I’m very local to you if you still have it.
You might have me confused with someone else. I’ve only had this one.

You need to put it below the HVAC dials underneath. I found it to be the best spot where it doesn't interfere with the fitment of the headunit.
For some reason I am having a ton of fitment issues with my idoing headunit
There are a lot of wires in the way. It’ll take some time to get everything out of the way but it’ll fit perfectly
Let's go! 🏁
Did I read that right 200 for the trim ?
$250 for the one I got yes
just installed my i doing headunit a few days ago but cannot get my reverse camera to work! any tips or suggestions on how to get it to work?
I would reach out it idoing to see if they can help.

I don’t have an install video on this. Mine is an older version. Had this one for 4.5 years now.

Can't make out the brand on those gauges? Can you help a brotha out.

I’m just curious about the GPS antenna,I see that it’s stuck onto the head unit.
Does it have no issues with reception?
Yes that’s where I’ve had it. No issues at all.
next up, color match the intake manifold!
That will be changed out to something much nicer in the future.
I noticed you had your GPS antenna double sided taped to the top of the iDoing head unit. Does it pick up a signal inside the dash like that?
Yes I have no issues with signal. Been on top of the unit like that since I installed it in 2018.
@@Autofreakgarage Thank you for the info. I am going to give it a try.
Yours is 2x2 Carbon Fiber or Forged Carbon?
2x2
I’m the same way with carbon fiber pieces on my car .. if the weave direction is different I’d rather not have it lol
Looks good
ngl i laughed when I saw the title

Did you plug the 12v port back in? Otherwise, the headunit wouldn’t effect that since it’s an anti rely different harness.

350 bucks for that extra lol dang
Next video: “I bought a carbon fiber dash!” Can’t go wrong with more carbon fiber 👍🏻
Haha don’t think I’d go that far!
i wish you lived close to me so i could pay you to install parts on my sti lol
Haha hardly have time to install my own parts.
