Welcome to LivingPianos.com, I'm Robert Estrin. Today's question is: What is the most important finger for playing the piano? Of course, all of your fingers are important, and they each play a vital role. Imagine playing the piano with less than ten fingers. It would be really hard! It's hard enough with all ten fingers. But there's one finger that really is pivotal for playing the piano. Not only that, but it is arguably the most important finger that you have for everything.
Scales with no thumbs LOL!! Great video and very true points, Maestro Estrin!
PS: white blazer with a black Hawaiian shirt? This may be the start of a new fashion trend!
I was invited to an informal lesson with my concert pianist friend this week since he had a student that cancelled. I played a Moulin de Ville piece that I hadn't played before, Innocense. He showed me his technique for La Petite Réunion for the descending thirds. He would use the thumb as a pivot and bring the hand over.
I'll give this video a Big Thumbs Up.
Great lesson Professor!
as a pianist myself ;)
with only finger two it is possible play, but I'm not sure if the same with Thumb
The letter e is the most repetitive letter in the English language. Does music have a most predominate note or chord?
Thank you for all of your wonderful videos!
If you had to pick just one note that is most common, C is probably it since the white keys on a piano form a C major scale. That also implies the C major chord as being the most common.
👍
I was going to say pinky
THUMB
Thumb I’m guessing
