    It’s good to see you are getting on with the Scrambler. I had similar thoughts when I test rode one in April, mine is due for delivery in June- am looking forward to it.

      Nice, I have seen that a few people are getting theirs earlier so that would be a nice. Hope the bike is all you are hoping for. So far I am really enjoying it. Want to add a screen and then I hope they will bring out the heated grips as I am going to need that in the winter.

    Currently waiting for my Scrambler to be delivered. If the first gear is super short, you can start in second gear right away, I guess.

    • @leeinwis
      @leeinwis 6 місяців тому

      All first gears are short, you shift after one second or two or three...oooh such a big difference.

    • @Andre-Mostert
      @Andre-Mostert  6 місяців тому

      Agreed, just something to get use too in the end. Like with most new bikes. You must be excited for the new machine.

      @@Andre-Mostert I certainly am excited. It’s due for delivery in may. I‘m already planning mods: tail tidy, tiny indicators. Then I‘m going to black out a few parts like the headlight mount and headlight ring. I might swap the seat for a custom brat tracker seat in black later on, since I‘m not a fan of the brown seat.

    • @Andre-Mostert
      @Andre-Mostert  6 місяців тому +1

      oooh those are some nice updates. I did check out that brat tracker seat and it looks very nice. I am waiting on the screen and hope they do the heated grips. But at the moment its raining so no riding lol

    Great bike&video!! i would be interested in one, but Triumph &many others no longer fit centre stands for essential chain maintenance & pass the buck to the owners to sort out, do you know of any brand of rear paddock stands that would do the job?

    • @Andre-Mostert
      @Andre-Mostert  5 місяців тому

      This is true and a bit of a pain. As you say extra cost to the client. I just sent my paddock stand back as it was bad quality. If you are in the UK check out
      www.ghostbikes.com/ghostbikes-all-products/?searchquery=bike+stand
      They have some good stands at really good prices. I had mine for 6 months and they returned it for a full refund so I am also on the hunt for a new one.

      Cheers, its great to look at and a pretty nice ride. I am impressed with the amount of bike you get for this money and for the 400 its got some good poke to get going.

    If you already got to the 600 miles services what do you think about the bike being release to its fullest. I got mine out of that services last week and it became a little beast!!

    • @Andre-Mostert

      Now that I can open the taps a bit more I am impressed with the performance they can get out of this engine without making it feel like it running out of steam. I am going to get the little screen as this will make the motorway riding a bit better. Its hold on at anything above 70mph but this is understandable and I think the screen will just remove some of the wind off your chest. Or at least for me. But and hour and a half at 70-75mph is tiring. Great bike for this price and great looks too. Glad you are also finding it like this.

    Thank you for the review. I too own a Scrambler 400X, and have done my first 1,000 Km on it now. I love it. One thing I noticed though, is that at low speeds - anything below 40 Km/hr - the motorcycle exhibits some jerkiness. It doesn't matter which gear I am on. And this happens on perfectly flat, smooth road surfaces while keeping a steady throttle. It does not go smoothly, but rather continuous back-and-forth jerking, and the slower you go, the more noticeable it is. Is this normal? I am looking for feedback from people who own the bike. Is this a normal single-cylinder behavior, or is there something wrong with my bike? Thank you.

    • @Andre-Mostert
      @Andre-Mostert  4 місяці тому +1

      Thanks for the comment. I have not found this on mine at all. I do get some but this is only when I open and close the throttle in a not smooth fashion. It might be worth to check that they installed the latest software/firmware on the bike as I have heard on some version this helps. But I can say I do not feel this at all. If you keep the throttle smooth its smooth. This can also be that you are in too a low gear for the revs but it sounds like you know how to ride a bike. I am sit at 25-30mph in 4th with out any jerkyness. Hope this helps.

      @@Andre-Mostert I appreciate the super quick response! I still have to book my first service, so I'll bring it up with the tech guys, and maybe after that first service things change. Thanks again and keep up the good work. You've earned my subscription 👍👍

      Awesome and thank you for the sub. Yes I have heard that most of the problems are sorted with the first service and software update and I think we might be in for another update some or other time but this is currently only talk. Keep well and enjoy the bike.

    Two wheels are better than one..... that can"t be right, I have five 🙂 To be honest though i have had several motorbikes. First gear is very short on my SLK350 as well - feel like I'm jumping around different types of transport here 🙂

    • @Andre-Mostert
      @Andre-Mostert  6 місяців тому +1

      All good and I get the point but this one is weirdly short if that makes sense. It feels to me like a gear you would have on a truck to pull away but because you pick up speed quick its just short. I must say I also love riding wheels lol

    • @Roskellan
      @Roskellan 6 місяців тому

      @@Andre-Mostert It's because it's a scambler I guess. My Merc is exactly the same, you pull away and immediately have to change gear. The only use, it is good for is creeping along in traffic, only really slow walking pace. Likewise I'm not a purest in any sense, cars, bikes, motorbikes, EUC's, I'll ride/drive anything. People who exclude themselves from some sorts of transport are missing a lot. Even got my old age bus pass now; would-you-believe-it 🙂 The scrambler - back in the day my friend had a 250 2-stroke and what I think was a 400 or 500 4-stroke. The damn things if you even touched the front brake the front would dive, I could hardly ride the damn things .

    • @leeinwis
      @leeinwis 6 місяців тому

      All first gears are short , I like "walking" my bike into my garage that's on a slope ,and a higher 1st gear would make that hard.

    Andre Mostert....I thought it was going to be at long last a SA test....then I saw the phone on the bars I knew it was a Pommie land test. Pommies have GOT to have a phone on the bars ! I am still wondering what these bikes will be like on our farm roads but alas, no test yet.

      The uk and most other countries, quadlock drown the old and new youtubers in their products.. youtube, insta and tiktac are run on sponsors and freebies, so they'll always be using them. It's just business, but it does make youtube a little stale..

    • @Andre-Mostert
      @Andre-Mostert  6 місяців тому

      This is true and its very expensive if you go for a whole motorcycle package. Great kit but a lot of money to take out if you keep on changing your phone every two years. Thanks for the comment

    Any review on 2 up riding to add 65 kg?

    • @Andre-Mostert
      @Andre-Mostert  6 місяців тому +1

      I must say what I did find with riding with my daughter on the back you need to give you a bit more time to get going. If you get the bike up to speed then it should be good. But with two people on and luggage you going to have to give it some welly to get going. I had a BMW 650 Dakar and that one was a pain on the longer trips with two people on and luggage. But for getting down for a relaxing ride it should be good. I will get my wife on the back and see whats her feedback.
