Knowing he does it all by himself really makes you appreciate him a lot more. I just bought two fish from him and he's been extremely responsive and helpful
With all the time it takes to run his business I'm pretty sure he doesn't have time to post new videos. I think he needs an assistant or maybe even an apprentice.
Jenny, this video interview was amazing. Ken's setup, expertise, and passion for the hobby are admirable and inspiring. Ken, I hope you keep doing this for years to come, despite the challenges and I love your humility and overall outlook (valuing hard work and general human decency in your business practices). Kudos to both of you for making the hobby more accessible to the rest of us.
Such a great docu, Jennie! Can always see that you ARE a perfectionist! This is exactly what people with passion for or desire to get into the art, need and want to see.
you two really are amazing! Jenny has helped me become the hobbiest i am today (even though i know i still make bad mistakes on with my fiah) and if it wasnt for her i would have lost the first goldfish i ever owed a year ago and i wouldnt have ever heard of dandyorandas and bought an amazing ryukin from him just 2 months ago. thank you guys for what you do
His fish and tanks are so beautiful. I kind of lost some of my drive because I lost three of my seven goldfish in my move this summer. That broke my heart. but I still have four wonderful fish left and I need to get some replacements. This video really motivates me to bolster my passion again and reinvest. Love this!
Finally had time to watch this video . It was great ! Thank you Ken for all your exhausting efforts in making our Passion and Hobby more enjoyable then imaginable We would not and could not do this on the level we do it without all of your long tiring days of hard work , And all the headaches that you have to go thru to make it possible. Your fish are top of the line , your commitment and service to us as a customer is impeccable and your willingness to share your knowledge and advice is invaluable .Thank you for being you And think you Jenny for making this man real to us and letting us see inside of his fascinating world
Wow, this video totally makes me appreciate all the hard work Ken has put into the fish. I am now looking at my gold fish from dandy orandas with a higher sense of gratitude!! I am actually from Canada, and I have driven into the states just to pick up the fish because I know they are of the best quality! Great video!
Gorgeous fish! I only have one "little" goldfish! Actually he is 8 inches so not that little! Looking to upgrade him to a 55 gallon out of his 40 gallon and maybe get a little buddy for my big guy! You are the one who helped him have such a great life! Thank you so much!
+katie todd Wow, your fish grew to be HUGE :D That makes me happy ^^ What kind of goldfish is it? And if I could make a suggestion, I'd get a 75 gallon tank instead of a 55 gallon tank so your fish will have more room to move around, especially if you plan on getting him a buddy o.o I can just see your big fish outgrowing the 55 gallon tank in the blink of an eye, and then you'd have to upgrade AGAIN lol
Aww, I wanna buy fish from him just based on his kind demeanor! What a great guy! I can't wait to have a job next year. I'll be able to afford my dogs and my fishies, but I'll just keep my betta healthy and alive for now and we'll see what happens from there.
I love your videos "Solid Gold!" I would never get to experience those goldfish trips you do and I really appreciate the time you take to make your videos so we all can enjoy and go along for the journey :)
+Ron Villa He sure does. Though, as he says in the video, he has a web developer that helps with website development and maintenance and he works with a broker that helps him navigate the legal stuff and permits for importing the goldfish.
I really enjoyed this video! My favorite point is how goldfish seem more personable than tropical fish. My two goldfish always come up to the glass and are so adorable. Thank you for your time making this video!
I found your channel today while revisiting my life-long love of goldfish; didn't think I'd find my future breeder, too. :) You have a wonderful channel and this is a fantastic interview.
Great video Jennifer, thanks for sharing! I'd like to get back into the hobby sometime soon and I'm already planning on getting my fish from Ken (I can't believe he's only an hour away from me!). Also, I'm really happy to learn about Soilent Green from you ~ there're some pretty neat products on the market now compared to when I had goldfish 20+ years ago... Looking forward to watching your other videos and brushing up on my goldfish husbandry ~ take care!

Simply Wow. I am trying to get in touch with Ken. Jenny, your videos have helped me so much. I live in Tampa and will follow up with you soon. Hoping for a bubble-eyed butterfly tail.
You are really lucky to have that many fish, both of mine recently died. Now I've lost 8 goldfish. But hey, I'm planning on getting some new ones today
So does he not breed them? , I keep Tropicals myself but started with Goldfish back in 85, I bought my son a nice Goldfish tank recently, I love Goldfish they are still very close to my heart
this whole time i thought it was called Danny Orandas so when i found out Ken owned it i was left wondering, who is Danny? what happened to Danny? Did Ken off him? now i finally understand, it is not Danny it is Dandy....
Not until I looked up some goldfish stuff last night did I even know that an Oranda was a type of goldfish... I would have been so confused when I found out his name wasn't Danny Oranda... didn't even focus on the danny/dandy part either
I wish that Dandy Orandas would start a business in South Africa. I love these fish, it makes me feel like a kid in the candy store. For now, I can only dream.
Name Unavailable. There so beautiful I totally agree I wish I could get them but mostly all I can get is Ryukins but there my favourite so it's not much of a problem:)

At around 10 min he says that this generation is not into goldfish.Well i'm 14 and i'm actually looking into breeding goldfish.I have multiple goldfish tanks so not all of us aren't interested.
Hi, is there a way to know how large the wen in Orandas will grow? I really like them but I'm afraid the wen will grow and possible problems related to the size of it? Thanks :)
I live in Warren I've been keeping fish for 25 years and never heard of him. I just subscribed because of videos with the Ghost Bristols. Does he carry them? I would like to get some.
+wantsome480 "Ghost Bristol" is just a term that I coined for them because I liked it. Those fish are technically called matte white (aka pinky) Bristol Shubunkins. I have never seen them offered at Dandy Orandas, but Bristol Shubunkins are being bred by several dedicated hobbyists right here in the United States. If you ask on goldfish keepers forum, I'm sure you can find someone that will sell you a few!
Are your goldfishes Demikins or Moors? Demikins usually have a hump and Moors doesnt. some people would consider Telescope to be moors. So what are they?
+Solid Gold Do you think it would be OK to keep two Telescope Goldfish in a ten gallon tank? I am buying from Petsmart, so they will be fairly small and I could upgrade the tank size...
I can't see why not, I'm getting a 30 litre tank second hand for free, whilst they grow in that one I'll be saving up for a 200 litre tank so that once they begin to need that space they'll have it. A smaller tank is fine to begin with but they'll definitely need a bigger tank eventually.
thank you so much for doing all these things I really wish that I could live in the USA but I live in the UK and thank you again and how can you stand for so long and which goldfish other goldfish should I get because I have 45 goldfish at the moment I think I should get a black moor or a lion head which 2 should I get see you next week p.s .very big fan I love your hair!
Knowing he does it all by himself really makes you appreciate him a lot more. I just bought two fish from him and he's been extremely responsive and helpful
this guy should really start a youtube channel. it would definitely help out his profits and I'd definitely subscribe.

Solid Gold okay well he needs to be more active on it then , lol. all the videos are 2 years old!
With all the time it takes to run his business I'm pretty sure he doesn't have time to post new videos. I think he needs an assistant or maybe even an apprentice.
Armando Arevalo then he should hire her, lol
jessica horner I agree
I like that he has such a fitting last name! LOL
+epiclids Me too!
+epiclids THANK GOD! I thought I was the ONLY one who got that!
As soon as I saw that he has an indoor pool I lost it.
Really cool guy and business. Thanks for letting him share all of this info. Get the heck out of Michigan!
So wonderful seeing Ken and getting to know more about him. Thank you for doing this Jenny!
Thank you Jennie for sharing such an awesome trip to Dandy Orandas.

+mrsdbzfanforever thanks! He is a black moor butterfly. And I will see if I have enough space for a 75. Thanks for the idea!
I LOVE black moors! Unfortunately, mine recently died and so did his redcap oranda partner. I hate goldfish dropsy.
Kudos to Ken! Great work toward the health of the fish! They are beautiful.
Aww, I wanna buy fish from him just based on his kind demeanor! What a great guy!
I can't wait to have a job next year. I'll be able to afford my dogs and my fishies, but I'll just keep my betta healthy and alive for now and we'll see what happens from there.
Loved the commentary on the food. Never realized moisture in food mattered.
That black butterfly in the background of this video is sooooooo beautiful.
I love your videos "Solid Gold!" I would never get to experience those goldfish trips you do and

I Can't wait to ge to the point where i'm able to get some fish from you. I'm so excited to get into this. Thank you for all your work.

I know it is kinda randomly asking but does anybody know of a good site to stream new series online ?
@Brock Braylen Lately I have been using Flixzone. You can find it by googling :)
Simply awesome.
I was smiling and laughing the whole time, I really needed this.
Knew Joanne from phone conversations-still have a few of the VHS tapes, and a copy of her Dandy Orandas Care book. 😎

+Thomas Joughin You are so welcome, and thank YOU for watching and enjoying my videos!
+Solid Gold hi what's your Facebook name
Hey Jennie, did you ask him about his opinion on Saki Hikari? Has he used it? Does he think it is a good brand of sinking pellet?
Tristen Braunstein I have very good experiences with Hikari, I don't keep goldfishes but my betta and tetra's look awesome.
Hikari has a lot of filler. It has fucking sawdust in it FFS.
The website given is not opening what should I do
Question, do orandas and fantails thrive in ponds?
nope they can compete with food
Yes, how do you think the Chinese do it? Just be remember to be extra careful in the winter
I'm so disgusted at the fact that I can't have anymore fish ;-;
+Dorito Rex why not?
+AnimalAce all my tanks are already stocked ;-; and I have no more room for fish tanks or fish.
+Dorito Rex Oh......I sorry.
+AnimalAce its ok I'll just look at the pretty da tails and fancy goldfish from a small screen ;-;
+Dorito Rex You have a whole lifetime ahead of you to enjoy more fish! Be happy and enjoy the ones you have for now. :)
can you do a video about painting your tanks thank you see next week
are there ranchus in QLD Aussie?
What were the ones at 12:50?! SO CUTE!!!
13:40 is the most beautiful thing I've ever seen
Hey! Do you know how does he make that food. What ingredients he had used? I dont wanna feed my fish pellets. And I dont make good quality gel food.
The secret of his special food is that he dips his nutsack into the sauce pan while its cooking.
You're a nutsack
