Gemini is terrible if compared to Google Assistant.
Twice a day i ask to Assistant to read radio news, and it doesn't hesitate.
I've tried with Gemini, and simply can't do such a simple task.
That Assistant's feature is very useful, and avoids me to use 3 different apps to hear those radio news.
Probably google want's to try something new with Gemini, unfortanetly giving up on some great features we've been using for years....

The big thing that I'd like to know is whether the "smart thermostat" is smart enough to allow for a single set temperature and intelligently select between heating and cooling. For example, my current Ecobee (a fairly old model) lets me select both a heating and cooling temperature, but they must be 5 degrees apart. This tends to be problematic in the spring and fall where temperatures can easily be warm during the daytime (necessitating cooling) but colder in the evening/night (necessitating heating). It boggles my mind that the "smart" thermostat can't see that the temperature has fallen below the set temperature and that the temperature outside (via sensor or Internet-based weather) is also below the set temperature, and based upon that, heating may be needed. (I think you could have a user tolerance level for how quickly to adjust.)

Idk who's using thermostat, like I'm using my Samsung SmartThings, I can use my phone to control the temperature throughout the house, in every room, plus Samsung air conditioners have built-in dust sensors and temperature sensors. Like I don’t even need to get out of bed to raise the temperature in the room or turn off the lights or close the curtains.

I think it’s marmite for some, I like it cos it should have been the pixel the watch in size and not a teeny tiny pebble that I would need a magnifying glass to see the time or notifications but the Nest Learning thermostat has a nice size for its display and the bangle or digital bangle looks unique and smooth.
The Nest & Streamer is missing one thing a Google Tensor chip.

Streaming devices from 2015 are faster than this... Example Nvidia shield TV from 2015 is still better than this

Launching a really nice product only for US ... is something only Google could be capable of. :)
The same they did with Gen3 thermostat ... being only available in UK and Germany ... So there is no wonder their sales are thriving.

So Nest became a US only company? First no global wired doorbell and now no new thermostat outside the US? Guess my smart home will not be a Nest one anymore in the future… that google home dashboard will probably also never come to regular older Google TVs although it would be very easy to do so 😢
