Police in Ann Arbor, Michigan, arrested a 12-year-old boy after he led officers on an hourlong chase through the city in a stolen forklift on November 25, 2023.
Police said the boy accessed the construction vehicle from Forsythe Middle School after finding the key hidden inside its cab. The telescopic handler hit “approximately ten parked vehicles,” police said.
No injuries were reported.

UPDATE: This is all I could find about an update on this case.
The vehicle stolen was identified as a Construction Genie GTH-636 Telehandler, which has a forklift and can weigh up to 35,000 pounds. Police later learned the vehicle was unlocked with a key hidden inside the cab.
The 12-year-old boy was arrested and charged with several violatiions as a juvenile for stealing a forklift and leading police on a 13-mile chase and hitting 10 vehicles.
He was turned over to his guardians and later was taken into custody and placed in a juvenile detention center, police said. ~

That boy is a MUCH better forklift driver than I would've been at that age, so I guess he sort of deserves kudos for that?
