Tua is absolutely NOT worth a big contract! And Daniel Jones nor Lawrence’s contracts aren’t worth $50+. The overall “contract” is, but he’s gonna be averaging like $37-$40 mill. And NO Tua won’t get any contract with a 5 in front of it (annually) if he hit the open market.
@@josephbell7648 I agree Tua should be in the 45m range, trevor same, jones was massively overpaid and had done nothing when he got it. Tua absolutely WILL have a 50+ million # if he hits the open market. If you truly think otherwise you don't understand how the economics of football work. But open market aint gonna happen, He gonna get 50M+ by Miami before preseason starts.

If you look at the teams out there that would need a QB, I don’t see any other team that would want Tua or even want to pay him. Dolphins would be bidding against themselves. Only teams that could be options are giants, raiders and panthers and I don’t see any of those teams wanting Tua and they would likely draft a QB instead.
As soon as Tyreek hill retires or gets injured, Tua is back to being what he was in year 1 and that’s average. He’s a low end starter or high end backup. JB is right about the countless balls he under throws but Tyreek bails him out. He was terrible in the playoff game vs KC and when he plays against good teams like the Niners, he’s been average at best.
Pay Tua the market value. No one is worth 50mil. He a QB. DJones, Herbert, TLaw got paid. Herbert had a good cast and we didnt win. I love Herbert but he fell short a lot. Numbers matter.

heres my argument if not Tua then who, are we tanking for a 1st round qb pick are we dragging Tua along for 2 more yrs for a rebuild and what if Tua balls out for 2 yrs and tells Miami to pound sand and goes free agent what then another rebuild give him his contract in 3 yrs renegotiate or trade him that's how the league work.

Tua is an illusion; he's the AFC version of Dak Prescott in that he plays like an MVP against bad teams but plays like trash against the top dogs in the NFL. He shrivels up like George Costanza in the pool. This franchise has been mediocre since Dan Marino retired, and giving Tagovailoa that money would mean they're content with never winning a Super Bowl.

If Tua isn't signed long-term by training camp, He should play on his 5th year option and bet on himself. He will be paid 80-100 million next year. Tua has the shittiest oline in the NFL, and the proof is the fact that the dolphins can't run the A and B gaps, nor can they pass block. Tua has the quickest release of any qb in the NFL. he is also the most accurate passer in the NFL. These two super gifts alone give the dolphins 10 wins every year with him at QB. He is also a proven champion, and all he does is win. Give the man a legit running game, and we won't be talking about his contract because, like Trent Dilfer once said and I agree, Tua is a generational talent. This is going to be his best year ever, and because of this, I don't think he signs with Miami next year. He is going to find a home, a home that not only will want him but they will show him the money. If I were a betting man, ide Watch for Seattle, Arizona, las Vegas as he would be much closer to his home state of Hawaii. Now....A coach's relationship with his head coach is vital. If McDaniels goes to bat for Tua all year and the team beats buffalo wins a playoff game... Tua may stay but again, he will get paid handsomely. Guess time will tell
