- Blake Samson is off on a two-wheeled adventure to the remote Isle Of Wight in search of the new Isle Of Wight Mountain Bike Centre! He will meet up with some old pals, smash out some epic trail runs and have a wholesome catch up with his family with a quick motorbike ride around the local spots!

I've seen a similar setup 20years ago in Northern California on a R1100GS. I was recently thinking about it again. So awesome to see Blake's Africa Twin! Big thumbs up!

Isle of Wight born and bred, great to see the island get some more publicity for MTB. More bridleways than any other county in England, plenty of hills and the bike park is getting better all the time. Great video 👍

I’ve been looking for a cycle rack for my motorbike for ages, and was really excited by yours right up to the point you said it was fully custom. Guess I might need to learn to weld. Also, I was looking everywhere to find out if carrying a bike on a motorbike was legal in the UK (given the overhang) but can’t find definitive yes/no, or even a rough indication, anywhere. Did you look at the legalities?
Stick a red flag on the very end and u should be good but definitely don’t take my word for it
I have a rack for my motorcycle it is made by 2x2 cycles
@@joshhilton3914 are you in the UK? 2x2 appear to be US based and I can’t find a uk distributor. Adding import duty and courier costs to their us prices make them too expensive. Also, it looks like their racks stick out behind even more, as they appear to start behind the pillion seat.
Yeah I am in the USA sorry about that i did not see you were in the uk. They do hang off the back, but it works pretty well.
@@joules2936 no import duties on 2x2 racks as they do something and invoice on package is for a much lower amount as i just received two separate deliveries from them in the last couple of weeks here in the UK. It does stick out a fair bit but i have had my 11kg DJ bike and also my 18kg EMTB on the back and i was shocked by how well it rode.

I have the same CRF1000l (but red one) and I'm thinking a lot about taking my bike on a moto trips. But I have Reign 29 in XL (and I'm 1,95m) so it's going to be quite long package...
My previous moto was KTM 990S in the same colour as your father's. But Africa is so much better...for me. ;)

I remember going there years ago when the kids were young and it was just a trail around a field and in the middle I could hear diggers crashing through the trees sounding like Jurassic park, I guess this is what they were building!

Cool AT! I figure if you'd lay the bike flat on a rack, it wouldn't affect the ride as much. But then you'd be a bit wider though. However, maybe not even as wide as normal cases. It's worth figuring out.... if only for some new content ;)

Have you ever thought of/gone to queen Elizabeth bike park? it isn't big but the blue is so flowy and fun and I believe they have recently done some renovations on the red as well

Hello Blake I've made a similar montage on my vstrom 650. My bike weight 13kg.
My wife is way heavier. But with the bike my vstrom wobble really badly above 90kph. The front seems super light, like my tire is flat.
Do you feel something similar?

I saw the guy driving towards you and was like "Watch OUT". Then realized it is not America, so you drive on the Left Side.
Loving the bike with bike. That bike rack has to be a Winter project. Would need to leave the panniers on for m/bike clobber though whilst out on MTB.

Cool, i had to have a break from the motorbikes because it got a bit dangerous with my mental health - i have schizophrenia - and i know how much it hurts getting knocked off (even fully kitted up). If i twist the wrong way my kneecap still dislocates and i have to pop it back in.
So when i had the money for another i was tempted so bad but i decided it would be much safer and better for my physical health to get a nice full suspension mtb instead and swap in my sub 1000 hardtail. Yeah right!!! Although ive managed to avoid anything serious so far but ive had a few close calls and lucky escapes.
UA-cam is full of mtb pov with rides rolling or casing all the doubles. Not Blake! Sends it hard and blind. “Just tow me in bro…”

nicely done sir, a gracious nod in your direction. Maybe head up to the 417 trail centre next as the cotswolds roads from Bath are great on a motorbike, but think I may struggle to get the Kenevo onto my Multistrada.
