Please I wish to find out the cordinate system you have to use before importing to civil 3d. If it's UTM or DD. When I try to import I get a message saying no point file format match found

I got an error saying "no points were transferred from the source". What might be the reason?

Causes:
1.0 Point file was not parsed properly due to wrong definition in the User Point File.
2.0 Point file has point number 0 or it has headers.
3.0 Incorrect delimitation or incorrect data in point file.
4.0 No geographic coordinate assigned to drawing and/or no transformation specified.
Solution:
1.0 Ensure there is no point number 0 (zero).
2.0 Remove headers from the point file.
3.0 Ensure that appropriate point file format is used (comma delimited vs. space delimited).

To resolve this issue, consider the following:
Make sure that the point file is closed before importing it.
Remove any headers from the point file.
Check that there are no unwanted characters inside the point file, like %,&,$, etc.
Verify that the Point Number is a Whole Number only (no letters)
