what's the name of the soundtrack? ????
the good the bad the ugly - what else would it be?
you just found 1 of them...
Uncle Tony, can you make out the words? They sound like a foreign language.
There are 3 kinds of people, the one's who listen this everyday, the ones who listen this occasionally and the one's that never listened it, the last ones are the ones who dig.
Hahahaha good one.
Very good one lol
Haha classic
Its the ringtone on my phone. Unfortunately for some people that call me I listen to the whole thing before picking up.
+Russificando You must not remember the part where Clint says, " there are two kinds of people in this world, those who load guns, and those who dig, you dig"
I saw "The Good The Bad & the Ugly" for the first time in 1968 on Yankee Station aboard the USS America CVA 66 in Ready Room #1. Indeed, I was the projectionist for the 16 mm version distributed to the Navy. I was smoking Wolf Brother's Rum Soaked crooks and hot reeling the flick down the passageway to ready room 2 and so on. I was totally captivated by the freedom no-name and the other two had. There may be "better" movies, but this is the one I will watch over and over again.
By far the greatest western ever made. Add Morricone's soundtrack and you get absolute unadulterated perfection.
Tuco: "Music, it is very good for the digestion."
I first saw this movie when I was 15, in 1968. I was so struck and stunned by it that I stayed in the cinema and watched it a 2nd time. It was the very first un-sanitised western I had seen, rather than all the 'clean image' stuff I had seen up to that point. Incredible that nearly 50 years later it is still rated so highly, and such a fantastic sound track.
+Tony Harris Feb 5th, 1968, my last day as a civilian. I saw this movie in a Miami theater the night before I joined the Navy and then it was Navy Blue for 5 years. Every time I hear any of the music, I am right back in time at that theater watching it for the first time. Strange.
The 3 -way stand off at the end of course is the best!
+Tony Harris Sorry, but what do you mean by "the first un-sanitised western"? I think the only western i've seen besides this one is 3:10 to Yuma (the remake version, with Christian Bale).
+Tony Harris Flies, bugs, and all!!!
Thank you for serving our country.
In 68, I was about 18, and saw it at a drive in! never stopped listening to it or watching it since. I own all his films.I had too
Edda Dell'Orso you are an angel sent in disguise. With your angelic voice I get major goose bumps & chills down my spine every time. It was your destiny to hook up with Maestro Ennio. The rest as they say is history. Thank you tcjohanson1 for the upload. My grandfather Angelo was a Sheriff at the turn of the 19th century. His life was amazing with many hardships & adventures. Our family in Italy has a diary of his life & pictures, war medals that are a piece of Italian & American history. He left us a strong legacy until all of us, of his blood line will be no more. He will always be in our hearts, never to be forgotten & all of us have Spaghetti Western in our blood. We were born with it. We have an insane passion for it. He liked John Wayne & in many ways identified himself with his character. Back in his native hometown he is known by the locals as the Sheriff & is a legend. He also fought the wars in Eritrea, Somalia & against the Germans in WWII. He was a sergeant in the Grenadiers Reggiment. This is just a tip of his life story.
29:30 would be my favorite of this movie. Beautiful song.
RIP Mr. Eli Wallach. You will always be alive through this amazing film!
When I was very young, my father connected with me via Westerns. We spent time together, did other things, watched war movies, etc., but Spaghetti Westerns were the penultimate form of bonding. For my 8th birthday, right after my mother took me and left him, he got me a pocket knife from his trip to Romania and the Clint Eastwood boxset. This movie is the most worn down out of the collection and on the list of things tearfully and beautifully moving.
What defines a masterpiece. In my opinion, a masterpiece is something that touches you inside with or without words and music. I can only imagine what Ennio Morricone was thinking to himself when he heard the blue print he created to this Masterpiece. I've loved this movie and soundtrack ever since I was a child. I'll be 50 in January and I was in love with this at least 40 of those years. THAT's how significant this is. In my own opinion. : )
I just turned 50, you speak the truth BaltimoreHop___And my proof of being 50 is the question: Ain't that 'Link' from the 'Mod Squad' as your profile picture ? Maybe I should go to this party as 'IronSides' or 'Maxwell Smart' or even better: 'Maxwell-Notso-Smart' lol
John Percy Ha haa... No, the profile pic I'm using is past Martial Artist, Jim Kelly. Jim Kelly was from the Bruce Lee era in the early to mid 70's. He was my idol growing up. "Linc", the character in the television series The Mod Squad was Clarence Williams III.
Baltimorehop A masterpiece is a UA-cam posting of a soundtrack that has been visited by nearly a million viewers and every comment is one of admiration and praise. Ennio Morricone, a 20th Century Ludwig Von Beethoven or Amadeus Mozart.
I like that!
Baltimorehop A "masterpiece" is hard to define, but it's like porn, you know it when you see it. P.S. I've spent most of my life being employed, educated, and residing in and around Baltimore. It's a flavorful city ("Charm City") that has been unfairly criticized and ridiculed because, like all major metropolitan areas, it has sections, primarily on the west side, that just remain plagued by a criminal element characterized by poverty, drugs, and violence. I have a belief of why that exists, but I'll keep it to myself as it has a cultural aspect to it that may be racially offensive to others. I remember your avatar, Jim Kelly, as a martial arts expert and celebrity ("Enter the Dragon') and "Blaxploitation" film star from the 1970s. Later, he was a tennis pro. I hadn't heard about him for many years. Kelly's obit a couple of years ago mentioned being survived by an unidentified long-time "life partner", which I found curious. I recall that he had a brief marriage and a child. I remember there being rumors about him, but he never "came out" that I know.
This was the FIRST LP record I ever bought back in 1966 as a 14 year old - simply for the ultra cool music. Thanks for posting this!
Absolutely the BEST Western movie ever made and one of my top 3 movies of all time.,
I still remember the first time seeing this movie, I think I was 15 or 16 back in 1995 at my two cousins house, they fell asleep about when the movie came on and I stayed up all night watching, I couldn't shut my eyes or turn it off. So many of life's truths in one film.
Your comment made me think of the first time I saw it, that was in 74 from a hospital bed! I was 8 yrs old & had just come down with diabetes, I flipped on the tv & this movie was on. The old man in the bed next to me said that this was one hell of a movie! He was right! Been a fan ever since!
I saw it in film class in 1971 with 800 other college students. It was a blast.
Damn i had absolutely the same experience, maybe a little bit younger, i would say between my 11 and 12, late at night i had managed to stay up while my family went to bed. We were in the mountain it was maybe the only channel which worked enough. You could hear the wind outside and some animals roaring far away into the night. Everything else was quiet, the sound of the TV real low. But i was fascinated, trapped in the storyline, the last moment of the movie with the duel was like the edge, a pure blast of tensions, emotions and musics. It became one of my definite, defining movie.
the music actually adds dialogue! the scene where tuco runs through the cemetery looking for the "golden grave" is incredible....doubt if it was eli running, but he did have close calls on this spaghetti western...almost decapitated and on the back of a runaway horse....clint saved his life when the bridge blew up by getting them far enough away from the blast...barely...leone was a monster but he created a masterpiece of civil war realism! action occurred near glorietta, new mexico,,,"matar en albuquerque"
Ennio Morricone is perhaps one of the greatest music composers of all time. He did everything from Sergio Leone's Italian westerns to John Carpenter's classic "The Thing" ( and everything in-between). His music was very unique and he used unconventional techniques through-out his musical career. A true genius indeed.
This was my favorite movie as a kid and still is and always will be
Best soundtrack ever for the best Western ever made. Thank you Sergio Leone and Ennio Morricone from the bottom of my heart for making my soul soar xx
I had the 45 when I was little and begged my parents to take me to the drive in to see it.Then I begged them to take me home because it was so violent. My dad was like "no way this is awesome"so I hid in the back of the station wagon till it was over
I imagine you eventually ended up watching it as you grew older. 😂😂
@@markparkinson6947 I like it now 😀
the chills you get when the whistling starts
This soundtrack is just simply a masterpiece. No questions asked.
Love Ennio Moricone's soundtracks. I'm glad he won the Oscar for his work on "The Hateful Eight". But he should have won for the iconic sound of "The Good, the Bad and the Ugly, and IMO, "The Mission" (1986)
And once upon a time in the west and once upon a time in America the untouchables.
One best movies and best western I've ever saw, everything is perfect: acting, screenplay, cinematography and of course this killing soundtrack.Shame on Academy Awards for not even nominate this masterpiece.
The best western, the best score and the best composer ever. Ennio Morricone rules!
The final standoff is absolutely miraculous. The soundtrack makes it that way. Brilliant.
I used to have this on audio cassette in the 80s. Simply sublime music, and one of the many reasons I've watched the film over 1000 times
The song that starts at 23:32 is so sad and beautiful. Makes me want to run away to Mexico and live the simple life on a small ranch and die a poor but happy farmer/ranchero.
You don't wanna run away to Mexico!..believe me!..mama zeta!!
Life in Mexico is not the way you see it in old cartoons and jokes. Mexican is not the guy laying on a cactus with a huge hat, dressed up like an indian and just doing nothing. If you do some research, you'll find out that life in here can be as simple or as complicated as in any other country. Same suggestion to you, Mike Jenkins do some research.
that piece sound like requiem, and i think it was, beautiful.....
I first saw this movie in 1968 in the theater, I was in the Army and had the day off and was alone, it completely transformed me to another place, it has captivated me ever since.
Just watched this for the first time. It was truly an epic experience.
one of my favorite all time movies can't get enough of it.
The best of westerns and the best of Clint Eastwood. Thanks
I think it was in 67 I say it for the movie for first time, Ennio Morrcone's music is absolutely wonderful! One of several movies I was able to see as a kid they were some of the best movies made!
A lesson in life, my friends. Best western period. Nothing comes close to it for content and a commentary on life then as we know it now (well maybe except "Once upon a Time in the West"). There are no good people, just all of us people with our own agendas, no matter how we are seen and the motivations that move us. What could be clearer. Bravo!! To the movie and the sound track. My life was moved by this film and will forever be influenced by it.
Edward Bibb The two you named, as well as "The Wild Bunch" and "The Magnificent Seven". All depicting men trying to survive in a hostile world, accompanied by great music.
RIP Eli Wallach
Eli Wallach is dead ? omg __when did he die ?
Greg Wise i cried......... in my sleep. i can still hear his voice. "BLONDIEEEEEEEEEEEEE".
Greg Wise Wallach damned near lived to be 100. I'm sure that Tuco didn't come close to that.
you never know, sometimes those kinds are the ones who live the longest
The long shots, close-ups, dialogues, outfits, music, just everything what a movie should be. This masterpiece somehow never bores...
I've seen the dollar trilogy so many times, can't get enough of it
Great Sergio Leone, brilliant Ennio Morricone, unforgettable Eli Wollach, incredible Clint Eastwood and cool Lee van Cliff - those five people made one of the greatest movies ever. With great respect, and wishes of long life for Sr Morricone and Mr Eastwood!
Working in the office on a Saturday morning with 60 mins of bliss. Listened to every track right to the very end with my childhood flashing right before my very eyes. Thank you! :-)
This is the definition of a perfect movie, one of a kind soundtrack, a perfect movie director and an incredible actor clint eastwood.
I remember the first time my father introduce to me about westerns and specially clint eastwood. I remember saying lets watch it and will see...
And just cant get enough of westerns, have all the clint eastwood westerns, any chance I have I watch them and enjoy them like the first time I watched them
Now I just think, sadly they dont make movies like the old days, man so sad, theres a lot of lessons in a western that just keeps you spechless.
The old western is dead.. thats sad.
hell yes classic movie soundtrack to my all time favourite western the good the bad and the ugly. oh you damm right i have the classic theme as my ringtone. love clint eastwood always will as the man with no name and the dollars trilogy i think is the best western ever made. and credit to my favourite movie score artest ennio morricone. a real legend.
Alan Pangborn damm right dude. this soundtrack is great too.
Alan Pangborn me too. well you know i do lol.
I love how cinema can capture a moment of brilliance that can be replayed over and over again, film buff for life!
Scott Kilgour Film performers eventually pass away, but their cinematic characters live on forever.
Ennio Morricone. He should have been awarded the Grammy for the Best Historical Music. yet Oscar Hammerstein won...this makes me so sad, Ennio Morricone should be appreciated. His music is so indescribable.
I was listening to this while doing some yard work and I felt like I was watching the entire movie. It's amazing how I knew which piece of music went with which scene. I love this Score! Bravo E.M. Bravo!
You know a soundtrack is amazing, or should I say is a true piece of art, when it fills so well with all the scenes, the atmosphre, the landscapes, the looks...I almost see every scene just hearing those notes...wonderful
Alamo Drafthouse had a "Spaghetti Western" night in Austin, TX a few years back, where they had all you-can-eat spaghetti & meatballs, salad, and breadsticks - and screened the restored/extended scene version of the move. Absolute heaven! Not even 50 cents - movie was free; you just paid for the food…Shame we never had another movie in this series… We need Quentin Tarantino to do a Western like this!
These are ageless music, i love them very much, have seen this movie, very touching.
This film and this score individually and together are timeless masterpieces. Hands down, and by a mile, my favorite western. One of my favorite films of all time. I return to it happily from time to time, like visiting an old friend.
They just don't make 'em like this anymore.
They really don't.. Shame. People don't know what they are missing. I've only seen GBU once, which was about a week ago, and it is already one of my favorite films. The scene where Clint Eastwood lights the cannon with his cigar, the camera movement was pure visual poetry
Happy 50th Anniversary! Still gives me goosebumps after all these years! Every few generations come a Epic Soundtrack that makes a Movie Great & This was it! How ironic! About time! Ennio Morricone is up for his First nomination & Academy Award for 2016........
+Doctor Garbonzo And he GOT IT!! WOOHOOO!
This soundtrack show's how powerful music can be.
Indeed one of the best films ever made. Art reflecting man and woman kind.
Greatest soundtrack in movie history. Especially "The Ecstacy of Gold"
I get goose bumps every single time I hear that track! The most recent Sponge Bob movie played that track toward the end.
Track 20 is soooo cool.
This is onea my best movies Eva!!! The Soundtrack is unfuckinbelievable!!! Rip Eli wallach a Dynamite underrated Actor Supreme!!!🇮🇹🇮🇹🇮🇹🐘🐼🐕🐬🐳🐅🐻🐖🐄
Just have a visual...movie is at its peak showing in your country...you have exams...the room is as silent as it can be...and someone decides to walk alongside the school and breaks into the whistle...I went numb...still finished my paper...and passed...epic! Loved that movie.
My first watch with my father and my bro in 2008.Oh my good.!!!İncredible film.İn those days life was good :)
This happens, when genious composer meets genious director. Truly a masterpiece !
The Good, the Bad, and the Ugly is by FAR one of the best Western movies of all time, even if it isn't that famous! It still is a true masterpiece in it's composition, music, general idea, and of course because of the main actor, Clint Eastwood. I will always remember the image of Clint Eastwood based on this film!!!
And this comment, my friends, comes from a teen of the new age! :)
A sad day today - with Eli Wallach leaving us. RIP Eli - you gave us all such good times.
The Good the Bad and the Ugly, one of the best western movie ever made, these soundtracks will stay forever
une pure merveille! Personne n'égalera Morricone...Personne n'égalera Leone....
Regarding my favourite movie soundtrack. I have a hard time time choosing between 'The Good, the bad and the ugly' and 'Once upon a time in the west'. They are both beautiful and epic. Morricone is a master!
This movie is just the movie of movies i cant describe the epicness of the good the bad and the ugly.
I love this film and it's music more and more. It's insanely good.
Eli Wallach should have won an Academy Award for his portrayal of Tuco.
That scene in the gun store...
And his horsemanship-particularily at the end of a rope!!
I've read where Clint Eastwood actually took him aside and explained a stunt man could be used.
I saw this film on the hood of a car in a drive in theatre back in '66 or '67 and have loved it and this soundtrack ever since.
I heard Wallach nearly died on set about three times. Once while filming the 'body on the tracks' scene, once where he and Eastwood blew up the bridge and once when he was filming Tuco's final hanging.
Gabe G That's correct, and then he lived to nearly 100. When it ain't your time ... it ain't your time.
Robert G. Exactly. I admire people who live that long.
Gabe G Longevity can be a good thing, provided one is in decent health to enjoy it. Kirk Douglas and Olivia de Havilland will turn 100 next year, if he or she makes it.
Robert G. That's true. If you're just suffering, what's the point of living any more? But I do appreciate life if one can enjoy it. I've heard some centenarians still have jobs, such as taxi services, which amazes me even more.
The Ecstacy of gold it's my favorite ! and the main theme !
A truly brilliant film that i've watched over and over again, the attention to detail is unbelievable.
La mejor de todas las peliculas del oeste, excelentes actores,y ni hablar de la musica y el talento que le puso don ENNIO.Gracias espero se transmitan de generacion en generacion.
Ennio Morricone was and is one of the greats! He wrote so much memorable music for movies.
We'll never see movies again like the ones with Clint, the music, the perfect one.
And to think he was second choice. Coburn turned them down. Hey Blondieeeeeeeeeee!
Great music. I bought this album when I was 12 years old and played it down to the grooves. Awesome music.
"The Good, Bad and the Ugly". One of my all time favorites!
I recall Eli Wallach (he played the Ugly): "You want to shoot, shoot, don't talk".
May God rest the Soul of Eli Wallach - who passed away yesterday at 98.
In the name of good bad & ugly i swear that i would always haunt the memory of every scene of this film till death with loaded guns......cheers from calcutta (republic of india)
I watched it again last night, a true classic film not only in Westerns movies category.
A rare combination of script, director, composer and Castings
Il forte is amazing and serene and the final song gives me such strong emotions. The final showdown and the song that accompanies it is one of the greatest moments in cinematic history.
One of the best soundtracks to one of the best movies of all time
This was a movie my daddy always watched when I was growing up, so the tune stuck with me for years and I have always loved it.
Sergio Leone was the Da Vinci of cinema, I liken this to the last Supper in its visual magnificence.
so if Leone was Da Vinci then Morricone is Mozart or better then him
I can agree with that
Danny Fridman If Leone was Da Vinci, then Morricone was the nameless stranger who taught him how to paint.
You are comparing two different professionals here. One is a filmmaker and the other is a composer. Both complement each other amazingly though.
Salman Ravoof thanks captain obvious
I am very proud that i lived in those Time. Was a great Time
....One of the best soundtracks of all time! Ennio should have one an Oscar for this score.
One of the greatest instrumentals was in this movie.
In college, this movie was always my friends and my Sunday morning hangover recovery movie. Just listening to the soundtrack brings back great memories (if somewhat painful due to how badly we were hungover sometimes). Gotta go home and watch it again this weekend.
The Trio,, The perfect Ballad for the time we are in today.
best tracks for me are The Ecstasy of Gold, The Trio and the main theme of course.. Magnificent!
Best ever sound track Ive ever heard this is just to BRILLIANT to describe..........................
Der beste Western und der beste Soundtrack - unerreichbar.
BILL CARSON and ARCH STANTON like this.
Yea it's a fantastic movie. Probably my favorite western.
hahaha I bet they do!
The next time someone says Hans Zimmer is the best composer of all time, I'll direct them to this video.
Hans is a plagerist! Best composer of all time?! maybe the 20th film composer!
My favorite track is Track 4, love that scene where Blonde fast draws against the 3 bounty hunters, and the look On Tuco's face is priceless.
PURE E P I C N E S S. Ennio Morricone is truly a living legend!
One of the best movies ever 👍🏼
In an era of great stories and REAL MEN ... No more movie magic like Good, Bad & Ugly !
Every time I see this movie it feels like the first time. The acting and scenes are awesome.
Ennio Morricone is the best movie soundtrack writter
One of the greatest soundtracks and films of all time. Enough said.
Go Hawks!
Fuck off.
How'd that Panthers loss feel?
How does 0 Super Bowls for 30+ years feel?
Movies aren't made like this anymore.
TUCO "When you have to shoot shoot don't talk." Eli Wallach helped make this movie epic saying it's great is an understatement. My dad loved watching western, and this is by far our favorite .
Awesome soundtrack to the best western EVER!!
Once again, the theme song played as Madison Bumgarner takes the mound for the San Francisco Giants in the playoffs!
No matter what your team, "hat's off" to the man who dominates October pitching like no one else.
The best movie sound track ever made. And one of the best western movies ever made. When I seen this film for the first time I was so into it I felt like I was there in the film with them from start to the grate ending.
Nice if there was a (2) and a (3) of this 1st class film.
Um there were. The Good The Bad and The Ugly is part of the Dollars trilogy and actually the prequel to A Fistful of Dollars and For a Few Dollars More which were released before this (hint: he wears the poncho he gets at the end of this film in the other two)
But watch them in release order because the profit margin increases with each one, and it also makes no sense the man with no name going back to working for $500 a pop when he scores $100k, going back to using just his forty-five after becoming insanely masterful with the Winchester (which he goes up against in Fistful)
I'd be torn if I had to pick between the music and the movie.
Norman Ball Fortunately, we didn't have to choose. Sergio Leone and Ennio Morricone were a perfect combination, even better than chocolate and peanut butter.
Robert G. I so agree. Coupled along with Clint, made for one totally tasty combination.
+Darth Vapir True-dat. Saw this at a drive-in when I was in high school. Made a life long impression.
