@@Threelapz it's fine, it happens to the best of us lol. Also, I would like to inform you to pay attention to the lights in front of the shops. Green lights are body shops. Reds are paint and vinyl shops. Yellow are car specialisties shops, and blue are performance shops.
"Theres tension with the money in this game" I remember, i think it was the second run of this game i made, ran out of cash, ran out of races, there was no NPC roaming to race, and i had to get the next star for a magazine, son, i couldnt figure it out. I just lost the game.
Tips for this game, find info icons and money around the map, the info icons give you bank too, and if you find a race without a map icon that is a secret race and they give more cash than a regular race, you can also get sponsors in this game, each different contracts, those contract races have an X as a map icon.
With regards to missed races, you can still race any races you missed by going to your garage and accessing races from prior story chapters in a sub menu...
Haven't played this in a minute but in terms of performance upgrades I think the first thing you should buy is the ECU, I vaguely remember it shoots your car's overall performance up by a significant amount, I beat this whole game with a civic in last time I played it so yeah one car only is possible with the exceptionof SUV races, especially if you challenge random racers on the street regularly to give you a little extra cash if you're running short
Keep a look out for hints and money, you’ll get cash picking those up! Challenging other cars means beating them by a distance, not time. 1000-ft-away type distance, cut around streets if you have to (a.k.a. - you gotta be out-of-his-sights). The drifting is better here, but you have 2 different drifting competitions. That one deals with obtaining the most points and will give you an extra 30 seconds to finish the race. The other is a speed drift (Speed X) competition where if you’re not first, your last! And there is definitely rubber banding! Don’t doubt that! You also get more drift points closer to the wall or blue/white lines. I beat this game with the Miata only as well! But for your next play through, look for all the stores on the map! You have a performance store, a body store, a vinyl wrap store and an internal parts/effects store. Each will be a different SOLID color on your map. Finding those stores gets you cash as well. Green: Body Kits. Blue: Performance. Red: Vinyl. Yellow: Internals/Effects. Besides the Performance, The Internal/Effects store might be your favorite as it is mine! And for the sponsored challenges, your car needs to beat those challenges and be at a certain star rank to obtain the prize. So you gotta RICE your ride throughly! Hit all the stores and change/add everything! More sponsors will mean buying more expensive parts. We’ll talk about setting your cars performance later. You gotta buy certain performance parts before we can make the URL garage more effective to your play. And you can change how your car performances for each and every different race. More high end for drag, more balance for Speed X, higher nos on sprints or out in the open roam area, stuff like that!
StreetX events aren't drift events, they just take place on UG1 drift tracks - they are more like RALLYCROSS/AUTOCROSS hybrid, so grip racing and racing line are crucial. I used to troll others in split-screen in the dorms with my career Escalade, on which I installed all the career prize Junkman handling parts, and would out-drive their Miatas, 240s, and Corrolas(and yes, it's not the JDM 86, but the North American market version...)...
@@GRIMEYtheFATMAN - you’re right on that, but I set mine to slide and power all day in the Miata! Plus, it my favorite of all the tracks besides the drag! Besides that, 3Lapz needs to drift more! That lap should have had 25k+ on that drift track!
hey, just a heads up, to unlock parts of the map you need to tune up your car and be at a certain point of the story, i didn't know this, and i got stuck before unlocking the last part of the map, so keep that in mind, do not waste money, use it if you need it, and always leave something to tune it up
@@Threelapz btw, to change the color of the car you need to go to a paint shop, same if you wanna tune it, a hint that I'll give is that you have to follow the signs like the ones in 3:39, and also be on the lookout for colored lights, yellow was paint shop, green was tuner shop, light blue is the car dealership, and I think there was a red one where you could give cars hidraulic suspention, just saying if you didn't know, I also have a map with the locations of those places IF you want it
I don't know much about midnight club 1 and 2 I put a little bit of two but not enough to know if you could still do any racing after you beat it I believe midnight club 3 was like that but need for speed underground 1 and 2 that's the only thing that kind of drove people away from them a bit was story mode had no more racing for you to do this day in age nfs heat has done that really well
Somethings definitely off with your shifting cause it seems like you have that off-sounding shifting bug. I researched for you online and you could fix that with the Nvidia Control panel by managing the game's 3D settings and limiting it to 60fps. To be more specific I took it from this quote: "If anyone is interested the frame rate solution actually worked, much to my suprise. Using Nvidia control panel i set the max frame rate to 60 fps and it began to work properly. Thanks to all who suggested that". Also you could also download the NFSU2 Extra Options that help with the overall experience with the game if you want to tweak some stuff. It's really useful👍
Oh man, the golden age of racing games😥😢
Hurts so much but it's the truth😭
@@F8_Z3PHYR I miss it 😭
The age of competition and this game is the best for me
I played this the most next heat and unbound.
Part of me died when you didn't take the races before returning Rachel's car to her. That was painful lol
@@velvetrosang4684 I looked back at the video and realized I could’ve done some racing 💀

I have so many memories with this game.
I really enjoyed the Underground 1 series, good luck on this Underground 2 series as well man :)
I’m also new to the channel but I really like your content

Subbed. For the chill content. For the love at the end.
I'm also replaying this game. The first car I chose in the game was the Nissan 240SX and will switch to GTR when unlocked.
I always started with the Honda Civic si.
GTR unlocks so late in the game that I just went with a mod that unlocks all of them from the beginning.
Man this game was way ahead of its time! Its too good!
Heads up bro as I love your vids as always watch out for the drag racing later get’s pretty intense 😂😂😂
Theres some mods fo those old times textures that make the game look fresh, like qt-mod

I just bought this game on Ebay for my Ps2, the postman needs to hurry up lol
The map in this game is lowkey better than the most wanted map
Try Inertial Drift the art style is great and the drifting unique

Personally i preferred underground 1 and prostreet but underground 2 is goated
