  • In Sony Picture's upcoming film, "The Amazing Spider-Man," you'll find some real and interesting science behind Peter Parker and his webs. University of Minnesota professor Jim Kakalios served as the science consultant on the new film, giving the filmmakers a factual perspective on the physics of wall crawling and the tensile strength of spider's webbing. In addition, Kakalios contributed an equation called the Decay Rate Algorithm, which is at the center of a few major plot points throughout the film.

This is why I love marvel so much. They use real life science fact to create a fake reality, and at the end it does make sense. Even though it’s all a fantasy it still make you think why an experiment led to a creation of a big green monster.

I'm guessing he did not setup the audio on this video. Also I took a Quantum Physics class that he taught, he's a really smart guy and if you ever met him you would never question the "validity of this professors degree"

ironically, there is a chance that if the decay rate algorithm was originally simplified to the gompertz function, that most scientists would recognize, then dr connor's might not have made as many mistakes

not new... but there is a VERY thin line between satire and peoples' actual political views. It doesn't seem far fetched that this person believes what they wrote.

this is a joke.. I was hoping to find some of the real science behind the movie. It disappoints me that the equation was really just marginally related to aging and therefore used for the movie..
