- When SFV first came out I got a bunch of footage to do something similar to this with R. Mika. Combo vids took priority however and I never went back to it. Is this something any of you guys are interested in seeing? I certainly find it fun to see characters from older games that weren't in SFIV (Karin, Mika, Charlie, Birdie etc) side-by-side with their SFV counterparts. However, they take a completely ridiculous amount of time to get footage for and then edit. I could maybe make it a weekly thing? Or not, if this is just super boring to everyone.
Regarding this vid, some of Alex's moves seem to be identical to SFV, down to the frame (possibly having the same frame data?). The main difference being his throws, which are completely different (so I didn't include them) and 1 or 2 or his normals are done left handed instead of right. Also, his overhead is about 20x slower.

I just wish that alex made more cocky comments in sfv like "at ease lozer"

1:38 is actually inspired by Alex's Super Art 3.
+RyukendenY and a lot of Super Arts are related in some way to other moves of the same char... here we see a far-reaching headbutt that does a ton of stun and... a jumping headbutt that does a ton of stun... SA3 is a jumping headbutt that always stuns.
maybe it's a bit of both ?
SFIII and SFV, some of the best looking 2D and 3D games out there.
Alex looks much better in SFIII. The position of his legs in 5 is just ugly and weird
Yeah, they gave him Ryu and Ken's weird backwards thing where the pelvis is turned 135° from the opponent.

its not just the legs. they hired the same heretic who ruined ken to ruin his face/design. he looks like a completely different character. dumb hair/face and horrible combat yoga pants

Anyway, aside from the weird angle on his legs and his win animation, I seriously dig SFV Alex's design and play-style. Damn good character.

Great video. At first I felt like Alex's jeans in SFV were absurdly tight, then upon watching this, I realized they were super tight in 3rd Strike as well, but the art didn't make it awkward I guess. Also, seems like a very faithful adaptation, I just wish they made his V-Reversal on hit go into a DDT.
+Riduy While I mourn the loss of Alex's DDT, I don't think the DDT is that useful without SF3's universal overhead... because you can't condition them to stand up and panic. :(
That said, they should've at least put the DDT in somewhere, like in the forward normal throw animation. That chop looks kinda weak IMO. :)

Imo SFV seems to play miles better than SFIV, but SFIII is still godly to this day

Even though the differences with Charlie are obvious I would still love to see them side by side with Alpha 2 or 3.

SFV Alex…he probably plays better then SF3 Alex but like, SF3 Alex looks so so much better while in SFV Alex looks less appealing and older then what I presume what his age might be
I'd love it if new Alex didn't look like a mashed up piece of bubble gum, and had a better voice actor in either language.

The problem I had with Alex's neutral animation in 3a is why the hell do his fingers bend from side to side? I'm pretty sure fingers aren't supposed to do that.

how do you do the combo at @1:18 ? I fucking love it. im getting the double hit from cr. hp most of the time. I try to space it and sometimes i get one hit, but it seems to be the first hit and not the second one-- which is the one that launches high and sets up the juggles.

Rafael Teles The parry system is restricted to a small group of the cast (Ryu, Ken, Alex, Akuma and Bison, there might be more, I dunno)

+Khanage You can parry with his V-Trigger by pressing and holding it down after his V-Trigger has already been activated.
+Khanage you press it every time for multiple parries. holding will keep the clothesline charge going instead.
How do you parry with Alex? Is it V-skill during V-trigger?
After activating V-Trogger, hold HP and HK to parry.

I don`t like his new appearance. He lost his Hulk Hogan vibe. Also his staple of appearance was being ripped, but skinny. In SF5 he is beefcake, like everybody else.

+Ayk S HK+HP while in V Trigger. The startup of the clothesline has parry frames that you can cancel into another parry.

Don't you just love how everybody wants to use Alex now when in SF3 they never touched him a day in their life lol... This is what a shitty starting Roster will do to thirsty ass fans. Alex was my Main in SF3.. Hated the 3rd strike nerf from SI but oh well.. This version is Cool.. More hand to hand than most.. Overall art design is average.. Suspenders instead of Scars is a huge no no. That left hand is too far turned under to ignore.. His headband missing the Mercenary Knot and no T-Shirt tear on the intro? Come on Capcom.. Ripped jeans? Green Cargo's would've did it the trick..
