Ive been struggling to find the time to get out and shoot but this video really inspired me to get off my butt as well as seeing you using this focal length really makes me feel good about the fact that I enjoy using an 85 1.4 for street. Sigma 105mm f1.4 the bokeh master is the official name of this lens. I own it and the front glass is so big that I never use the lens without the lens hood.
Have you tried back button focus? Avoids focusing on half press and you can set your focus and not worry about it for doing several shots at same distance.
Love the shots!! I tried to get so many similar ones while I was there but failed the majority of the time. It was the first time I've really felt the need for a full frame camera. Luckily night shooting isn't what I do a lot of but still making me rethink the need to go FF. Even though we couldn't hook up while I was there thank you for all your inspiration that you've given me.

Tbh I saw a big change when I upgraded to FF so maybe it’s something you can consider in the future 🙏🏼

I am with you on the sharpness, never tried this one, but I have used various ART lenses from Sigma, the 85mm 1.4 also has this sharpness. I personally now own 2 Sigma ART zoom lenses, the 24-35mm F2 and the 24-105mm F4 and both are sharper than most other zoom lenses I tried. And even better, the 24-105 is actually quite affordable for the range you get.

This is a dji Osmo action 4 that I use, I shoot in 4k 50p and edit on a 4k 24p timeline on Final Cut Pro, I export at 4k 24p h264.

Hi, been watching your videos lately. I personally love my Sigma 85mm 1.4 for street photography. Yesterday i bought the 24-7-mm too, just because your videos. Well, i like it but dont love it as my 85mm. I am still a prime lens guy i think.
I love a good zoom lens but nothing beats a prime! Zoom lenses are obviously pre easier to walk around with because of their adaptability but primes are always much sharper!

I have a question: Is it possible to continue using the lens manually after it has broken?
It wouldn’t hold focus even manually focusing, I believe some how the aperture rings had moved or the focusing mechanism had completely failed.

Wide focus area or single spot focus are the two I normally use 🙏🏼

i bought this lens a while ago and took it out for a test shoot on the streets and just wow and i mean WOW . as you say sharp as a knife edge . to say i totally love this lens is an under statement . ok its mahoosive lol but man its so worth it . would i say buy or hire it YES for sure as you guys will not regret it . ok you are as discrete as a boil on the arse of mankind walking around with it lol but that has up sides as you look like a pro and people dont think you are a dodgy snapper lol . i shoot using the canon R5 and it works brilliant with it . hope you got your lens sorted as iv had no problems with mine at all .

It's not the lens, it's the camera. No issues with my F-mount Sigma 105mm f/1.4 attached to my Nikon D850 and Z9 with FTZ2 adapter.
It’s not the camera 😂 I’ve tried the lens on other bodies. It’s the lens and sigma have agreed. So pretty sure it’s the sigma lens that’s broke.

@Opticalwander I think it’s your very copy of the lens. I own one myself for Nikon F and it works really great though I bought it second hand. Btw I absolutely love the way Sigma Art lenses render skin tones

Whenever I use anything from 28mm to 55mm etc I feel like it becomes really intimate and can be daunting sometimes .
Had the lens before and sold it (for different reasons....such as its massive size and weight which ultimately made me leave it on my bag at home), even if you are far away it's the bloody eye of sauron, you will always get noticed with such massive piece of optic. As a studio lens it's incredible and for outdoor portraits.
I kinda dont like this wide angle POV, it just looks weird. But this Prime is nice!
What is it about the wide angle you don’t like? Has a few people over the last month or so mention this so wondering what exactly about it, isn’t nice to watch 🙏🏼
its that weird too wide field of view. It's almost like im getting dizzy watching it cos of the distorsion. It just doesn't look natural to me. @@Opticalwander
