Autoimmune hemolytic anemia is a condition characterized by the body’s production of proteins known as antibodies, which attack the person’s own normal red blood cells causing them to rupture. The result is that the affected individual’s red blood cell levels decreases, and this leads to reduced oxygen supply to the organs and tissues of the body.

I am on the end of fighting hemolytic anemia, I was diagnosed in august last and almost died. It’s kinda funny to watch videos about it and they use cheerful music to explain a disease that I Almost died from in my early 20s

My baby passed away because of this desease autoimmune hemolytic anemia😭😭she was only 1 and 4 months old😭😭she is now my angel..im missed you baby,she died january 22,2022 😭😭

1:25 that’s definitely the symptoms …: the diagnosis was today. Still trying to sort out what this means long term. I hate waiting on new appointments. I’ll be waiting almost 10 days to actually have a doctor sit me down and explain this diagnosis. I can’t help but wonder if severe osteoporosis isn’t a contributing factor but I could be way wrong. I’ve just been told I have it but has little explanation of it. I hate doctors anymore. Going to the doctor is like taking a car to automotive trade school

What will happen if the spleen was removed?
a lot of the antibodies responsible for the autoimmune hemolytic anemia are produced in the spleen. removing the spleen would lower the amount of the antibodies produced
Is it good or bad?
@@kongkwaila of course it is good if you remove the spleen,less auto antibodies will be produced and the severity of anemia will decrease

I was just diagnosed with this, ( Autoimmune Hemolytic Anemia) I am still in the hospital currently and awaiting results to see if it is Idiopathic or if its wilson's or the like. What other illnesses are similar to Idiopathic Autoimmune Hemolytic Anemia? Are there other diseases like Wilson's that I should be looking into?
What did you do about treatment for your anemia?
@@floyd27860 they gave me a lot of blood and put me on an aggressive prednisone treatment that took months to complete. There was another treatment that was some kind of reset to my immune system using some iv based drug, but the prednisone finally started helping so it didn't get to that more aggressive option. They say there is a 70% chance it will never happen again. I still feel weaker than I felt previous to that stay, but I'm alive, so I'll take it.

@@floyd27860 not a problem man. It's a little known issue and if I can help someone better understand it, maybe I can help them survive it. It came very close to killing me.
@@rogerjohnson4251 if I could ask "how high of a dosage were you on for the Predisone? I have a family member with this condition.
