being an alto or soprano isn't about the notes you can hit, more about the timbre and color of the voice. Altos tend to have a lot of ✨body✨ and ✨gravitas✨ in their voices, especially with lower notes.
@@zoetrogolo7349 my range is now in tenor, when though that is traditionally a male voice part. My voice has dropped nearly an octave & become deeper after menopause (quite common, apparently). I can actually sing deeper than an alto when looked into it. Can't reach as high now.
