Man I wish those original epic mickey concepts could have been realized. I LOVE them.
That's the thing about concepts: they're much easier to love than the inevitable compromises of a real game. One big reason why is that it didn't cost you anything to enjoy the pitch for the game. To love the game, you'd have to buy it, which is the reason the company makes it (and the reason they didn't make other games pitched to them.)

Just paranoia about not squeezing the maximum profit out of it, ironically hurting themselves just as much as they hurt the art's potential. Anything creative is a "risk" to them
These money giants could easily make all of the pitches possible without even hurting their profits. Aking those "risks" is how they became so big in the first place

I didn't buy Epic Mickey specifically because it was watered down from the original concepts so they didn't get money from me. Shrug, I guess.

How can anyone fall asleep to this? Watching all of these canceled games makes sad. I want all of them, no matter what they are or who made them to get their shot. Someone loved these games, someone poured their heart, and soul into them. Yet, for one reason or another they didn't make it. I hope they all at least get a chance to be seen by us. Great video but not something to sleep on.
I encourage you to continue to discern between what's good and what's bad. Everything is made by someone; that doesn't make every project a good idea, a wise idea, worth your time or even moral. And if you advance the philosophy you're advancing, you're telling companies you will buy anything, regardless of effort or quality.

Not at all. Every game that was made deserves its chance in the free market. That is why I used the quantifier "shot" in my post and not mindlessly buy. You do know what the free market is and that one does not needlessly purchase everything there is right? Furthermore, these products are nothing more than pieces of entertainment.
The moral of the story is- The free market is good and so is choice. The only evil I see is those that would seek to destroy creation through totalitarian control. That is all.
@@Sinn0100 If the free market is good and so is choice, then the publishers have every right to exert their ability to choose to cancel projects they do not believe will be profitable on the free market. Don't throw around terms to try and make yourself seem smarter than somebody else while making a moralizing argument about how games "deserve" a shot simply because someone attempted to make them. They would "deserve" a shot if the developers could finish their work on time and to a quality accetable for a product they expect people to pay money on.

I absolutely LOVED Epic Mickey when it came out, it's still one of my favourite games and sticks in my memory well. I remember getting The Power of Two when it was released and I had absolutely no idea what was going on, I felt like it also ended rather suddenly without a proper conclusion... I couldn't work it out at all. I'm still confused by it, everything said about it in this video actually makes sense because it was such a huge disappointment for me in comparison with the first game

These videos and the comments on them have taught me that if most video game fans hear that a game was unfinished or cancelled, they will just imagine their unrealistic fantasy ideal of that video game, then pretend that it would have been the finished product. Then, they will all agree that they would have loved and purchased the unfinished or cancelled video game, even though they're each imagining a different game, and if they compared notes, they'd argue with each other

"Console and PC games are not the future", that quote aged poorly, while the mobile market is big, and its ups and downs it still hasnt reached console and pc games levels, I dont think mobile will take over the whole gaming world. And I hope Disney tries to cash more easy money by making more ports of their classic games, including the missing Disney Afternoon and movie games (like Goof Troop, Bonkers and Toy Story 1 and 2), the Magical Quest Trilogy plus Magical Tetris Challenge, just to name a few :)

Aaah it's an enhancement charge...interesting. In all my years of studying criminal justice and criminal psychology (forensic psychology) I have never heard of it used like that before. In reality the charge by itself does not make any sense. The word petite is used typically for something over 100 dollars but less than 750 making it a misdemeanor.
However, if the defendant is considered a habitual offender it can increase (enhance) the charge to a felony. Which brings us to the unfortunate naming of a charge "felony petite theft. Basically it's a bad, not so bad theft...but you keep doing it so throwing the book at you charge. Huh, you learn something everyday, neat.
