Persistence and luck really are a great combo.
Meanwhile I just managed to pick my first real security lock (or at least what I would call a security lock) an Abus 80ti/50 that I've been working on for 6-9 months or so, not sure how many hours in total on that lock but I'm guessing it's 250-300. So yeah persistence really pays off but I wanted to rule out the luck factor so I want back to it a couple of days later and got an open in less than 2 hours (spread across 4 picking sessions).
But yeah would love to see that mako gutted, not enough Covid-19 dissection videos on youtube!

As a non-lockpicker, what is the difference between an Operating and Control Key? I have not heard those terms before.

These SFIC locks have two shearlines and two different keys for them. The operating key simply operates the lock normally and is what the user carries around. The control key does not open the lock, but allows the lock to be removed and replaced with another one very quickly.
