I feel like scp was doomed to become mainstream and slop like the backrooms since most horror really just devolves into juvenile derivative content. Scp is so much scarier as a child and you dont need much understanding to get into it. Stuff that can't go mainstream is the best bet for actual horror, which happens to coincidence with how easily kids can enjoy it.
