I haven't played it. A friend of mine has a Black Tour and a Silver Pro (or vice versa), I mean the heavy versions. There's always a need for comfort-oriented rackets for people who have suffered for injuries and still wanna play tennis. It seems a nice option for players with short swings. Why not like it? On the other hand, I played the Tecnifibre TF-X1 300 which is supposed to be a Technifibre Clash, but it was too stiff, too powerful and too launchy. Seeing Moutet using it, I said it was impossible after the injury he has suffered on his left arm and he does the 1-handed backhand now, but there's a ton of lead to I guess it's much better than the stock form.
Very similar opinion to you but I would not say I 'hate' it but certainly dislike it though as I am not a beginner or intermediate and do not even contemplate racquets that are bulky in the first place its not even something I would come to form any emotional thought. It is for beginners and that is it period. I actually demoed V2 'Pro' of it back early 2022 and I recall hitting against a wall with it and felt like I could literally hit any shot and it would go in the direction I wanted however there was nil quality to it and nil control. What Wilson did for the Trash is a worse version of what they did for Wilson Shift which is just a wonder racquet for intermediates. I dont know where Wilson went wrong but why they just dont focus on the good few lines they have and make them even better is beyond me..
Just feel the Clash is not a good choice for players who still want to develop their strokes and overall feel of the ball…update: I’ve already thrown more demo at coach Kevin 🤣🤣
I play with the clash pro V1. I’ve been playing for a LONG TIME (started with a Wilson Jack Kramer) and have had elbow problems over the years due to stiff frames. The clash is comfortable and gives me a little extra pop, which is greatly needed. Because I’m not a string breaker, I string it at 55 with a full bed of gut. Thanks to Wilson for their efforts to create this frame. It’s clearly not for high level players, but it’s exactly what I need.
Love the easy and comfy feeling and … since I put 4 grams in total at 5 and 7 o'clock so much more stable and great plow through. Give this setting a try and you will love it even more👍😉.
@@tennisvikingyes, because I really like this stick since it first came out. I tried so many different setups, but for some reason, the lower weight distribution point makes the clash so much more "trusty". The only weakness of the racket.
It's a great racquet. I use the 98V2...If you are a 5.0+ player and above like me with solid fundamentals you will get used to it...very comfortable...I switched to it recently. My previous racquets: PS85, PS90, PS97... I can hit winners from everywhere with it...
i had a clash v.1 100L. As a beginner i loved it. Very fast racket that saved me most of the times since i was preparing late for my shots. As i leveled up, i found it unstable, lacking power and sometimes not predictable. I enjoyed my time with it but it was time to move on. I believe is mostly for beginners or for pushers. Also with a more stiff racket i had less issues with my elbow. Best string for me on that racket was hyper g and tourna big hitter 7.
@@Sylar78200 i went to Yonex vcore 98 2021. It is stable. easy to maneuver like the clash, more powerful, fast but with less spin. maybe i should have gone with vcore 100 that i loved it but wanted to try the smaller head
Most of your negatives are not performance-related. For example the indentation of the ‘clash’ lettering. The “stickiness” I think you called it, describing the paintwork around the racquet head. If these are issues, all good - personal preference - but not reason alone to slate it. I’ve got the V1 in Tour spec. I think the racquet looks great, suits me as it’s a little heavier and it doesn’t have the indentations you hate!!!! Give that one a go and see what you think!!
One question if possible. I am writing to you from Armenia. I am 33 years old (58кг 166-168cm height). I have wanted to learn to play tennis for a long time. I found a coach for myself, and today was my 9th lesson. I was able to play with him 10 times already😁😁😁. I really like the videos on your channel, and I've learned a lot from watching them too. So here's my question... Could you recommend 1-2 specific tennis racquets that are suitable for a beginner player like me but also that have really good quality? I can order them from the United States or Europe, so that's not a problem. Also, I believe a larger head size would be beneficial to easily hit the ball ( BUT IF THE TREND IS SHIFTING TO 98 HEAD SIZE, MAYBE BETTER ME TO START FROM THERE?) . Also what you think is it better for me to pick light weight version of a racquet or a standard one like 280gram or near 300? Was thinking about these ones.... 1 - Yonex VCORE "L" 2 - Yonex EZONE "L" 3 - Pure Drive "team" 4 - Pure Aero "team" Thank you in advance, would highly appreciate if you respond in a little elaborated way ) thanks again
Thanks for the review. I own a clash v2 and like it but ready to try some other like blade and rf01. What camera mount setup do you use or recommend to capture your match like this. Love this.
I like the racket and Income from a Wilson Pro Staff 97 Roger Federer Autograph! The racket is easy to play with. Let’s just say it gets to through these difficult points in the third set. The RF97A makes you play these points - you always have to have hit through the ball - as I am getting older, I am not a fit as I used to be. Also, I think the Clash (I play with the 98 version V2) give you some more consistency during a match - but in return for that it takes away that extra power that the RF97A has. En fin, just my 2 cents. What do you all think?
You could test the Artengo rackets, they are very good, their best rackets are: Tr 960 control tour monfils racket Tr 930 spin pro Udvardy's racket Tr 990 power pro Kasatkina's Racket
I own both Wilson Clash V2 98 and Artengo TR930 Spin Pro. And I prefer the Artengo. It has good power and spin but at 71 RA it is a pretty stiff racket may not be suitable for everyone. With the clash, it just feels so weird, I could not get my game going.
The Clash is a GREAT addition to the range of racquets available for people. It's not for me personally but its great to have an arm comfortable racquet range in the world of arm wrecking Babolats etc.
I dont know what this arm wrecking is about but I played with Babolats for 2 yrs and never had arm problems of any kind. Some of the Yonex's however are a different story..
I feel like the wilson blade 100 v7 maybe even v8 offers similar free power and forgiveness and most importantly for this type of racquet, plush feel, but without the inconsistencies.
Bought Clash 100 pro V2, for me personally I tried hard to get used to it,,,,, and no got back to Head Speed MP. Did not work with me did not like at all lol
I saw a female, TA&MU player play great with the Clash 100 V1. She had no control problems that I could detect. Since the switch I have not had any serious shoulder or elbow problems. Mine is strung with soft polyester at 52 lbs. Yes, maybe a bit bulky. My UTR 3.7
I bought a Clash 108 v1 and it's difficult to control. I get good spin and power but have to aim for large targets. Also, its even balance tires me out - it's a lot to swing. Unfortunately, the rest of the Clash line is much too headlight for my intermediate level baseline game. I will probably add a leather grip to make it slightly headlight and change from a syngut (which starts to slide after a couple of hours of playing) to a multifilament because I can string that tighter and still have comfort. Sadly, Wilson made the Clash 108 v2 much stiffer.
Im using extreme mp auxetic. I feel precision n directional control is lacking n too powerful on touch shots. Any suggestions on how to tweak it ? And what do you prefer btw head ET vs speed pro latest?and why?
Currently using a v1 clash 100, not because I really enjoy it, but because I broke my speed pro g360 and had to use my Dad's racket for the season. Thinking of moving to a blackout 300 from solinco to improve my game.
People that don't like the clash usually shouldn't be playing with it. Racket wasn't made for either of these guys really. Meant for higher swing speeds/spin play or novices. With that being said V1 had a better 98 and pro. V2 100 has ridiculous stability for the specs. Lead makes these play inconsistently so hard to commit to It seems the shift is better for more traditional players
What tension did you run your strings? I bought it because reviews stated it was a good comfy Raquet for a casual 50 yr old player which i am. I am happy with it.
The Ezone 100 is definitely a good/better option that feels similar to the clash…I like the Ezone 100 when I tried it…I want to try the Ezone 100+ 🤯🤯 so much power
Yonex really crushed it with their 2023 Vcore and Ezone racquets. I suggest those to all the kids I coach. Personally, I am a Wilson guy. So, the Clash V2 100 is for me.
Tried Clash and hated it. Terrible feel. Bad control. Very inconsistent response. As to this test, a good tennis player can beat a worse tennis player using a frying pan as a racquet. So there is that. For a racquet that does pretty much everything at a solid level, power, spin, control, manuverability, feel, try Head Speed MP. No racquet is perfect, but speed mp is pretty solid across the board. Of course it's not for everyone, but worth a demo.
Do you love or hate the Wilson Trash? Let us know.
