Love this duo! Two of the most interesting parts of these grand houses - the decorative arts and architecture, and the food! The way they interact with each other is so fun! Only wish the quality of the videos were better.
This is a great series for food and history geeks like me :). Even though the picture quality isn't that crisp, it's so interesting to watch. Thanks for posting! :)
Each time they show an outdoor scene there is not a cloud in that blue, blue sky. So much for saying that it constantly rains in England. Very interesting and entertaining series. Always makes me hungry to watch it.
Wow,thanks for this.I grew up only a few miles away from S.Hall and have visited it and been to parties there a few times, many moons ago..a real trip down memory lane for me :)
I would have used a pastry bag to extrude those potatoes into the mold. It would have made it much easier to fill the mold without disturbing the vegetable mosaic.
If they were doing it as they would have in the Regency era then it might not have been heard of yet. The inventor died only 20 years before Victoria visited this very estate. The pastry bag is of French invention so they might not have yet been that widely used or even heard of. Marie Antoine Careme is the inventor.
They paid the commoners quite well. They were employers, and they provided education, medical help etc to their employers too. If there were no manor jobs at all, all the commoners would be each household on their own and at the mercy of weather.
Thank you for uploading this! Do you plan on posting more episodes from this series? If you have access to all of the episodes, could you please upload the one about Chatsworth house?...
This could have been an extremely watchable program if it wasn't for the damn music playing while they were speaking. I had no idea what they were saying. Too many programs do this and it is unnecessary in my opinion.
The Picture your claiming to be Victoria looks like Anastasia Romanov There is a real Picture of her from Family photos of the Romanov family posted on UA-cam, the girl that they were claiming to be Anastasia was not Anastasia, someone posted the Real pictures of Anastasia and both girls look alike, even with the same hair styles.

Keen as mustard!
I love it.
I want that recipe. I’d like to try that. Love this show and all the food. Looks delish.

"They did live well." Yes, on the backs of the commoners.
Yes they were clamouring at the gates to the castle more than once .

The way the guy drawls "the most adooorrable little child" made me wince.
Nope, it's just you
@englove369 Yes, I just uploaded the Chatsworth house, will do the rest soon :)
Why wasn't the truffle saved over the pheasant chartreuse?
At I7.32 there appears to be a Dalek in the room....they really were ahead of their time.

Why do they say "since the days of William IV" um these ARE the days of William IV when this series is set.
...I dated Victoria in 1840...the washrooms are much better now......
Why didn't they just pipe the mash into the mould. Anyone with the skills et could have done it without so many fingers in the stew.

Ivan Day is great, that other guy with the 'stash is so irritating!!!
He can be a bit OTT but knows a lot about antiques. :)
I like the guy but who is the lady? I don´t have any trouble believing that she spends most of her life in the kitchen if you know what I mean.
Ewww YUCK! This was preceded by a horrifying, lying vid from Hillside 'edu'.
