I've come across animals like that much as gears or cats but there's other ones to that think they can freeze n be invisible. So hoarse ones had his head in between two trees it was hard to miss 😞 the tail of mr. Obvious😂❤

If they walked away the likelihood is that the fawns would have stopped “hiding” and got out of the way anyway. The people hang about… so obviously the animals will stay frozen.

A deer is not traumatized and will go on about its day after the threat is gone they are not extreme people (predator) pleasers after such events and when older adapt it to a fake out and spring up and runaway startling whatever was a threat.

Aren’t they the most precious of babies. They literally did what mom said, “freeze”. I watched a new born one outside of my yard do that one day, and he actually stayed put until she returned minutes later. ♥️

They sadly more than likely killed the fawn(s) they touched. Fawns have NO scent to them, that's why their mothers tell them to freeze. Once a fawn's scent is 'contaminated' by another animal's scent, the mom will not take care of them anymore...
@@E._v._A.that is not strictly true, I agree they were wrong for touching them but I pulled a fawn out of a flooded creek and we took care of him for a couple months and of course we were touching him during that period of time, long story short he eventually started playing with another fawn and after a week, we were still feeding and occasionally petting him mind you, the other fawns mother took him in, he quit coming to us but we’d watch them in the field before they eventually moved on somewhere else

@@honeycrispsnail4032Deer do. Yes it's a myth for many other animals out there, but for fawns it's different. Because a fawn's defense mechanism is literally their lack of scent. If it smells of any other animal (like dog or human), their mother will most likely abandon it.

This communication between mothers and babies is so fascinating. I see it in feral cats. The momma will somehow tell the kittens, even rambunctious aged kittens to stay at a particular location, and they will not leave until she oks it. And she can change that location and they will obey every time with great discipline. I once was interacting, feeding a very stray momma cat and one of her babies started coming from its hideout and she let out a stern hiss towards it and it immediately ran right back where it was. So cool.

Their mother is the one who told them to be still. She just should have gotten them across the road. They maybe picked the spot for the warmth. Mom will be back…and most likely not far away. Sometimes people think that they are saving them by taking away but no. That coloring is camouflage …keeps them hidden.

So 'compassionate' that instead of backing off and letting the mother return and let them go off with her, he gets _even closer_ to them.
They are scared **because of him** .
Now they have a scent, his scent. Fawns are born with very little to no scent, that's why predators can't find them when she puts them down, they'll follow her scent as she leads them away from them. Fawns dont choose where they freeze. The doe does. So now that he's moved them, she knows where she put them and will come back to that spot, but, then what. No scent, she can't follow them. Unless she can see them, it won't end well, so, leave them alone, please!
@carrollcameron7472 So true. It upsets me when I see 'kind hearted' or 'compassionate ' people who know nothing about the basics of the world we live in. The truth is he has signed their death warrant. 100s of clueless comments praise this type of behavior without realizing the consequences to wildlife. For most people, this is as close to nature as they get. Thanks for your comment . Maybe some people will learn to just leave wildlife alone unless it has asked for the help.

They are so trusting of their mothers, it’s absolutely heartbreaking when farm equipment ends their poor little lives. Them and their momma trusted that field as a good spot, mommas usually linger for a while after their baby has passed. 💔 I held a funeral for the one that passed in the field next to my house. 😢

@@_asantesana_squashbanana_ when I hunted, I thanked the deer and apologized for killing them. One deer would fill my small freezer with enough venison to supplement my shopping.
So the conscientious hunters are still out there, but you don't see us because we get the deer we need and leave.
The mom don’t leave them she stays hidden tho but she stays close where the fawns are in her view of sight we got a lot of white tail deers here on my property we had about 7 of them all at the fencing line eating grass from my yard I saw them from my front porch one day

My dog is half doberman ... as you can imagine she's huge ... and she tries to hide behind thin weeds thinking we can't see her 😂 We still go along with it. Every time we come home from somewhere she "hides" behind something until we get out and then she runs over like she's surprising us. It's adorable! She still thinks she's a tiny puppy.

😂 my 125lb Rottweiler used to tiptoe past us in the living room to get to the front porch. Each paw carefully placed slowly and gently. He would pass by just 2feet away and as long as we didn't look directly at him, he thought he was totally stealth. We usually burst out laughing cause it was hilariously cute.

We have a white kitten now who’s not quite as small as he once was, but is still only 8 months old, he likes to hide behind little tiny boxes or bags (we leave them for him to play in, i promise the bags aren’t plastic, they’re reusable grocery ones) and he’ll wait for us to come by and lunge with both paws up in the air, then immediately get zoomies into the other room. He’s a little sweetie and we just play along with his hide n seek games!

Bunnies also do whats called a binky which is they run around and jump and basically do a heel click. They do it when they are really happy its adorable

We actually have wolves in my area and I am 100% sure they understand at least basic German. (Wouldn't make sense if they knew English, I am from Germany😂) The pigs definitely understand us. I don't know about deer, but I don't see why they should be different.
This is one of the only fawn videos that I've ever seen on YT where the people didn't commit a crime under Animal Harassment law. People habituate or try to rescue them all the damn time.

My mom found a fawn in the hasta by her house (she lived next to a forest preserve ). She was concerned so she called animal control. They told her not to worry and to consider it a compliment that the doe felt it was safe to leave him there. 😊

Thanks for letting them run to their mother. Now when they grow up they can run out in front of cars. No it did touch my cold heart to see them run off into the woods and be safe. Yes I have two vehicles fairly damaged currently by deer 🦌.

I saw all three of them, 2 fawns again a month later🙏🙏
They were not even afraid of me!
