    What she says is so true. These videos from her actually put me to the finale decision to start my process. I've been on hrt for a few months and finally after 43 years in life I am starting to feel a sense of belonging and way better about my life. I cold pass younger easily as a women with the right makeup and clothing . And finally transitioning at first was about passing. Once I got my female hormone range right passing and presenting has way less to do with this as much as feeling true to myself and who. I'm supposed to be .,,most being worried about passing or physical attributes will mean way less when any of you finally take the plunge to womanhood you need to . Living s fulfilled life with the feelings and emotions are so great I could not live without and don't know how I lived without. So much I would be devastated if I could not continue .

      @@gerardo912872012 It depends on what country you live in. If you live in a country where medical care is provided by the state, meaning most of the world besides the US, you will most likely need therapy before you can start any hormones. But if you live in the United States, you can talk to a sexual health clinic and be on hormones within the week. I recommend talking to your doctor or physician first, as they can recommend you on what the next steps for you are. Best of luck to you.

    A question: Is it possible to receive estrogen via food rather than pills, as there are many foods that contain estrogen in differing amounts!?

    I take the patch, almost 2.5 months on feminizing HRT, so I don't have to worry about crashing as much. But I've changed my diet and lifestyle to be the healthiest me I can be going into my transition. This includes at least 60 minutes of medium-high cardio, everyday if I can, plus lifting weights in compound movements three times a week. We owe it to ourselves to keep our bodies in prime condition as we endure what needs to be done to transition.
    I know this video is on the older side, but thank you so much for posting it.

    Question: Being a heavy cigarette smoker, I feel as though I have trouble quitting during the puberty stages. I was wondering if there were any suggestions you may have that might help me to overcome this particular hurdle. Also, I absolutely love your videos, they have already helped me a lot, and I just discovered your channel today. THANK YOU!

      jamie royce sr I think you said you had a panic attack 9 days after starting your Estrogen injection? Well, this video said exactly that regarding injections > the unevenness of it in one's system. As she said, you could ask your doc to dose you for weekly rather than twice a month to keep the level steady in your system in order to avoid the low times resulting in emotional upheaval, so you wouldn't have to shift to the pill-version. -?- This video was very informative, worthy of a re-watch for sure.

      I found in quitting smoking that I had to make a Quality decision that I was really done. Once I was truly Sure > I was done, and there wasn't any more issue about it, because it was no longer " on the table" or up for discussion or compromise > I had made my Quality decision. It's been critical for health, considering all our bodies have already been through. I had already tapered down to just a few cigs a day, hours apart and later in the day, so that when I made that decision to quit, it was quitting 4 a day, not a pack. One has to learn how to deal with stress and certain triggers/times (talking on the phone, driving, stress are common ones for people) without turning to cigarettes. That's a huge part of the emotional battle. Weaning down and restricting times, then making a Quality decision when the amount is already low, is really helpful. I didn't use a patch or anything to stop, I just stopped very purposely. I hope this helps. It's been 8 years.

    Question: I was wondering why aromatase is not used to convert the testosterone into oestrogen naturally. Why they don't always use a natural transdermal oestrogen and transdermal progesterone too. Why the synthetics instead?
    Question: Most transexuals are given 'antiandrogens', flutamide, cyproterone acetate, spironolactone, chlormadinone acetate, megestrol acetate or medroxyprogesterone acetate. Of these the only real antiandrogen is flutamide, the rest all have androgenic properties, is this correct? and then thus flutamide would be better suited for transgenders?

      its normally hard to get enzymes to function within the human body without them being constantly replenished/ in the right places because enzymes only work within very specific criteria e.g. within cells etc

    I have a question for you. Have you ever worked with an FTM who had a total hysterectomy prior to starting testosterone? If so, how did that affect the pace of his changes? Chris Fitzhugh

    • @TheTransitionChannel
      @TheTransitionChannel  9 років тому +1

      First of all, congratulations on your hysto. This does, and does not, make a difference. Testosterone shuts down estrogen. If there is no estrogen to shut down, then there is one less step for the body to have to address. What I have seen is that some transmen who have hystos will need to have a tiny amount of estrogen otherwise they have a low grade depression. One even had an enlarged hypothalamus. He just felt something was off and finally found a doctor who believed him. This is not widely known. What is your current situation with going on testosterone? Is it going well?

    • @chrisfitzhugh7157
      @chrisfitzhugh7157 9 років тому

      I had my hysto in 2008 due to ovarian and uterine cancers. So I had a TAH-BSO. Due to these cancers my GYN Oncologist told me that I cannot have ERT. I have been taking an antidepressant for several years now also. I am still waiting to start my T shots. I had an appointment with a FP doctor next Thursday but her clinic is SO far away from us on the other side of Denver. There is another FP who is closer but I need to find out if she accepts Medicare, which is my ONLY health plan. I think she/her clinic does. In any case I will be starting T soon. Chris

    • @TheTransitionChannel
      @TheTransitionChannel  9 років тому

      Yes, estradiol/estrogen replacement therapy would increase your risk for cancer but testosterone would actually decrease it. Whatever the distance may be, I think it would be worth it for you to make the effort.

    Does vaping low nicitine such as 3mg affect my development any if I'm on Estrogen injections?? Or does nicotine affect medroxyprogesterone development? I only see blood clot medical literature not anything on affecting these too medicine..

    • @TheTransitionChannel
      @TheTransitionChannel  7 років тому +2

      Smoking/Vaping any amount of Nicotine has it's risks. There are so many variables that you have to factor in. Your predisposition to any cancer, cardiac health, or blood clots. It won't necessarily effect the development that HRT gives you, rather the HRT increases health risks when you smoke. There are some doctors out there that won't prescribe HRT if the patient smokes.

      The Transition Channel so pretty much the Estrodiol In pill form is the only one that development can be stunted?

    • @TheTransitionChannel
      @TheTransitionChannel  7 років тому

      There are always going to be some form of detriment to development, just not quite as significant as the health risks that smoking presents.

      The Transition Channel I love your channel and you're very articulate in your approach...I am on hrt for 8 weeks now,my endocrinologist knows that I vape at 3mg of nicotine,according to him vapeing doesnt pose much of a risk since it's not actual smoke from a traditional cigarette..although i love vaping I am wanting to go down to 0mg just for safe measure and my estrace isnt affected so I can have full developmental success

      @@visaman Thank you! How familiar are you with the effects of taking hormones? I "have a friend" that doesn't know if he should start with an anti androgen. He's wanting the less vainy hands and feet, and to actually have hips, but He's not quite ready for any breast growth yet, even though he wants to see cleavage in his (her!) reflection. Appreciate any suggestions you can offer.😉

      @@elsewherehouse Anti andogens. Yes I was on Spirolactone, but I can't take it anymore, because I started Ramipril for Hypertension, and the two don't mix.
      Spiro doesn't reduce T, but it blocks the receptors of the T, so that Estrogen takes over. That is a simplification of the process. It does shut you down sexually, and it makes your Liver work harder, so be careful when taking it. It increases the Potassium in your body. I felt depressed but that might have been due to low energy level. It's not something to fool around with.

    It usually takes about 45 minutes to an hour to fill out so be prepared
    for some hard hitting questions. You will get a response from a real
    person within hours depending on the time you fill it out. Be sure to
    fill out your availability because you will get a response with an
