As far as I know, you can use an opuntia as rootstock for a gymnocalycium. But i think using a hylocerues undataus (dragonfruit), myrtillocactus geometrizans (blueboy), or harissia would be better.
I mean ung pot ipatong mo sa basin or basta container na mag hold ng tubig, pag may work kasi ung hobbyist hindi nya ma asikaso or ma try mag dilig lagi kaya ayun ginawa ko nag work naman
Cocopeat will leave your plants prone to fungal infection. Dome method is okay but i don’t suggest that as said in the video. Dome methods are best used for seeds because seeds weren’t exposed to harmful substances before dome method. Unlike seeds, pups for rooting have long been exposed to harmful microorganisms that would multiply rapidly in in vitro environment or dome method.
@@micoflores9356 naturally anti fungal but cocopeat is a very great moisture absorber making your mix too damp and might hold water stagnation that causes fungal attack on plants. Remember, as I said on episode 2, anything organic or natural is nabubulok. Too much organic components, means too much “nabubulok.” While it is decomposing or habang nabubulok, maaari nitong isama ang halaman sa pagkabulok. Plus, it attracts many soil pests. In time, you would see what i mean :) You can test it out naman for yourself.
Will try your method po on rooting a Gymno. Pink Diamond pup that was given to me as freebie, I'm not really good at CnS po eh but I have a few. Hopefully it would root. Thanks po! 💙
Lava rocks mostly are too big for the job. Anything fine would be better, like fine akadama, fine pumice or aqua soil. Fine particles are better than big ones because big inorganic materials would create gaps making it harder for your plant to sense and absorb moisture.
Okay lang pumice. Masyado lapitin ng peste vermicast kaya kaunti lang if ever. Riversand and peat moss is better. Tapos kaunting vermicast. 40% peatmoss then even distribution sa riversand/pumice/crh/vermi (eto sobrang konti lang dapat)
Now I get it hahaha naguguluhan Ako Kasi Yung iba sinasabi need marami tubig pag pup at the same time Sabi ayaw rin sa water. Gets na gets ko na tysm
