Our pet springer Spaniel dog was put to sleep on last Thursday 16th May 2024. This song reminds me of all the holidays we spent travelling to Cornwall, some of the journey's time took over 10 hrs, We played Ronnie Lane's Passing Show, album on cd in the car, with our dog, Clarice, her head outside the car window ,Beautiful music ,landscape & our beautiful dog Clairice RIP. Thank you Ronnie Lane & the band, Slim Chance.
Drum and monkey minsterley good times in the early 1970s with ronnie on the lash what a nice fella he played this on an acoustic guitar will never forget ronnie ❤ used to see Ronnie around bishops castle always had a smile on his face and would always have a chat even had quite a few beers with this humble man ❤ miss you
God - Sooo special - just standing there no flash no glam - just Ronnie's sweet melodic voice & beautiful music - such a sad sad end to such a class act. Ronnie Lane had something - like Marriott he sparkled like a fine rare gem. Aww Plonk - always in my heart - may you rest "under dreaming spires" A beautiful cat indeed & I miss him - I miss real rock musicians.
Tousled-haired Ronnie, always looking like he was in trouble...What a star. Him and Stevie are well missed. They wrote songs by their early twenties that most songwriters could only dream of! Lovely man..
I know its not very interesting to other people, but my grandmother is dying these days, she has cancer, and i thought about that a lot, but this song and this man brought me to tears the first time, thank you ronnie, its rather a good than a bad feeling
pisspatch, thank you for the RL uploads, this is the most beautiful heartfelt song ever written, and as always performed with such warmth. Ronnie was a one off. god bless him. why dont those folks at the BBC release the whole concert on dvd, i would be willing to pay BIG MONEY to own such magic! thanks again.
it's all about truth and soul with those guys, Steve included had loads of it. only the good die young i wish i could have seen them live but this is absolutely great
@jdcovington New(ish) fan of of Small Faces and Ronnie Lane, longtime fan of Pete Townshend and loved Ronnie Lane's "Evolution"on Who Came First. Until very recently, never knew much more than this of him. Listened to this for the first time last evening and thought the same thing, he's capturing the same sort of sweet sorrow that (early solo) George Harrison did so well. What a lovely piece!
@jolly6666666666 - don't forget Benny (Gallagher), who shares keyboard duties with Billy Livsey in this number. Benny's my hero; he can play so many instruments!
@bagwanhardcastle - Benny and Graham were already a duo when they joined Slim Chance. It's likely they had to quit for contractual and financial reasons; they and Ronnie were signed to different labels, and Ronnie's tours were not well managed.
@nateFrAnK Might I suggest an intense trip "YouTubing" on the Ronnie Lane fork of the "Greatest Songwriters" river. I am sure you will not be disappointed ! :-)

Ronnie Lane & Steve Marriott were two of the great singers and musicians of the 60's and 70's.

How great is Ronnie Lane? All you have to do is hear his music. Just listen.
I need to correct the spelling on my last post. It should be Tony Zemaitis. If you go to his web site, there are some closeup pics of the headstocks.
こんなに凄いシンガーなんて思いませんでした。
I know. I know.
Yep.I feel he was to us rockers what George was to the Beatles.
I think that guitar is the one Tony Zematis made. It looks like a Zematis headstock.
Look at Benny Gallagher (on organ) biting his lip at 1:52 - he's absorbed in his music as usual!
@TheModfather32 - US pianist Billy Livsey does look quite like JLC, I'll give you that.
@nateFrAnK Might I suggest an intense trip "YouTubing" on the Ronnie Lane fork of the "Greatest Songwriters" river. I am sure you will not be disappointed ! :-)
What a bard! refusing to be the rock star expected, the cheek of this east end bloke! Never be another...
