@@Agilepickleunite @NewEdgeDesigns yea. The kid is a pathological liar. Google saleen #99-345. One of the first articles is on the saleen forums 3 years ago if him asking if it was real and posting his VIN number. He was told then that it was not real. You can read it for yourself. You can also run his VIN and bumper number thru saleen and they will tell you it is not a real saleen. The kid knows all this as well. I have all screenshots to prove it as well as pictures and location of the real #99-345 car as well as its certificate of authenticity. This car was nothing more than a beat up GT with saleen door stickers poorly placed in the wrong location might i add when the kid got it. He fabricated the whole story. I respect his love for the cars and willingness to learn, however do not refer to it as what it is not, expecially when you knew the truth since day one. Clones and tribute cars are welcome. Imposters are not. Saleen also sells the decals/stickers to anyone directly off their website. They also sell Monterey stickers and letters of authenticity that both require both the Ford VIN and the saleen VIN, there is a reason he doesnt have those. I will be happy to email anyone the information i have. Also anyone ever looking to buy this car in the future, do your due diligence and call saleen with the VIN
I think of the Saleen as a rare oddity compared to the Cobra. Every car show has a ton of Coyotes and Terminators but hardly any Saleen or Roush cars. They may have had less motor from the factory but it a nicer looking car in my opinion.
Yeah because when people go to trade them in the VINs register as Mustang GTs. You pay shelby ish money only to get GT money for it on trade. The car to get if you don’t want to be like everyone else is the Mach 1. They have serialized chassis’
So my dad actually just traded off his Roush 380R a few weeks ago after having owned it originally since 2003. I’m actually the original owner of a Terminator. I have to say stock for stock it’d be pretty damn tight. One thing Saleen and Roush 03 Cobra equivalents had going for them was the solid axle. The main thing those cars had going against them was the aluminum 2v. The Cobra was a blank canvas in stock form where the Roush was basically at its limit before you’d want to think about adding heads, cams, etc.
The Roush kit is actually a way better design than the Saleen kit. It uses a pulley bridge just like the Terminator does, has a much more efficient intercooler as well. The only things a 360r/380r/440 need are a bigger heat exchanger, a pulley, bigger injectors/pump, and a tune. With that they can make in the 400whp area way easier than the Saleen. In fact, mine will be the only MP90 Saleen to be in the 400s on an unopened motor, non ported blower, and no meth or nitrous to assist it.
He's absolutely correct about the Saleen body kits. They are the best looking kits for Ford products, but they fit like crap! Even under the guidance of a pro collision specialist of 30 years, it was a challenge to get the kit to fit my SN95. it took 19 screws to get the wing to sit flat. When you pay $2000 for an authentic kit, it should fit better than it does. Saleen gives no support or guidance for kit installation.
Yeah it's sad that the quality is severely lacking. It bothered me so much until I went to the Saleen Nationals last year and saw every other 99 to 04 had similar fitment issues and wasn't 100% perfect. Even the newer cars have fitment issues. Unfortunately they were never made out of ABS like the Cobra kit is
@@904Saleen my SN95 is a 6 year, rotisserie build. I put the best of the best on it myself. Honestly I've gone too far with it, but everybody agrees it's the dopest 95 Mustang they ever seen. I did it all myself. I plan on adding MS3 and some other small details to finish it. Hopefully David and Matt Farah will review it.
@@PANTYEATR1 when I went to replace the kit for this car, it was in peak Covid and Saleen has a 6-8 month wait. KBD uses indistinguishable molds with exception to the rear bumper for copyright purposes and had it to be in 3 weeks. Install instructions mirrored the Saleen Ground FX kit directions to the tee. Multiple friends I've made have also expressed their disappointment with the quality. Seems to just be the nature of polyurethane. All of the cars at the Saleen Nationals last year even had some minor defects with the kit's fit and finish. Wish it was ABS like the Terminator parts are, but that's a much more expensive manufacturing process for both R&D and building it. And at that time for me, it wasn't worth the time and effort to get the parts the previous owner had repaired.
I remember when Bradley took me for a ride in that car by my old neighborhood and it shredded the belt right when we passed my old neighborhood and we had to limp it back to his house 😂

As those have mentioned they did do the saleen cobra in 03-04 but also in 99 and 01 as well, the s351 was a strong mf too, the s281 extreme was the baddest one stock for stock, 425 in stock saleen form, 6 speed manual and built engine
I like the goal of outrunning a bolt on g37 daily. I had same dilemma with my 04 GT and my 2013 j35 6-mt Accord. It took All the normal bolt ons/exhaust, comp 262ah cams, TFS valve springs, and a Brenspeed tune to do it. Lol
@@904Saleeni will pay for your letter of authenticity and original window sticker if im wrong. But we both know and have known since you got this GT that I am right. Ho ahead. Prove me wrong
Im suprised the motor doesn't like to rev quicker in 3rd gear given that it has a lightweight flywheel and aluminum drive shaft. I guess 3.55 gears are the way to go then.
5:38 I'll never forget the time I saw a V6 pre-facelift S197 with a Saleen kit. It was actually pretty convincing until I saw that trusty V6 tail pipe jutting out from the rear end, barely fitting behind the Saleen bumper. I was so disappointed.
Little known fact, the 05-09 Saleens have the center exit, but their mufflers are actually still in the stock location and have duel outlets. One on each going to the center exit, and the other on each is a turn down tip that’s hidden which I always kinda thought looked dumb from underneath, but I’m pretty sure they did it because the bends to make the center exit work I’m sure affected flow.

Ayee my buddy Brad. Good dude. I've seen that car from start til now. So happy for him.
I had an 03 roush "jack roush classic" edition number 38 of about 50. Basically a stage 3 roush without the side exhaust plus a bunch of Jack's signatures all over the car. The stock gt mustang mufflers made it quieter all the better to hear the blower
I remember the first time I saw a black 1998 Saleen S351 on the road in the late 90's.. it was like seeing a super car. That car was freaking awesome
The s351 actually started as a v6 car. Pretty crazy. The one in the video started as a GT, and is still a GT, because saleen never touched it. Fake number and fake story

That was a nice video to watch. Very positive vibe.
This in white with white wheels is the only convertible I ever liked and wanted. It had to have that big roll bar on top also!
That white on white was an Iconic Saleen look. I even liked the yellow with white.

The S281 was just a f ing gorgeous car, but white wheels on a Saleen, totally
I have an 04 sonic blue GT with the saleen body kit on it. I agree the fitment isn't the best, but mine is pretty good. I think it looks great lowered with the right wheels on it.
This is how its done. Clones are awesome man. Clones being pawned off as authentic like the one in this video, are not
@@TheRealSixShifty i wish there was a good way to cover up the saleen on the bumper of mine just so people don't think it is a real one. I hope to make it faster than a real saleen though.

@@Agilepickleunite for some reason my reply keeps dissapearing. Give me a few mins. Probably cant post VIN numbers (driving so i copy/pasted previous response below)
Agree ! I need a 1
Yeah because when people go to trade them in the VINs register as Mustang GTs.
@@904Saleenbetter make a video of that please

love hearing Sullivan King in the intro cinematic
I noticed that too!! SK fucking rocks!!!
His body kit isnt authentic and neither is his car. Its just a GT with a made up story
@@TheRealSixShifty well, i bought my Saleen kit from Saleen and it was a $2000 pain in the a$$ to put on either way.
You brought back the intros!! Heck yeah man!
