  • Most weevils have short, knee-shaped antennae, but one weevil's antennae are exceptionally long, even exceeding body length, and are often mistaken for long-horned beetles. If you look closely, you will find their fake identities. This weevil is called a long-horned weevil. A large long-horned weevil with elegant horns and gorgeous markings, it is the "beauty" of the weevil family.
Larvae live on rotting tree trunks. They use their tough upper jaws to drill tunnels through tree trunks, and the fungi that grow on the walls of these tunnels are their food. Adults have a short, thick "nose" which is more beneficial for them to eat fungi.
When you walk in the park, do you notice that the leaves of some plants are rolled into delicate little cylinders? These are the masterpieces of the weevil.
It lays its eggs on the leaves, then rolls up the leaves, carefully wrapping the eggs inside. After hatching, the larvae will grow healthily in this delicate hut. Different weevil likes to eat different plants, so seeing the leaves of different plants rolled into the nursery in the wild can roughly tell its species.
