- Vintage Motorola International 1000 car phone.
I recorded this short video to show how it still works in 2020 on the KPN GSM cell phone network in the Netherlands.
Date of recording: June 5, 2020. - Наука та технологія
Wait what, the cards that the Sim cards come on are this format because they were the actual sim card? Wild!
i have the 2200 gsm, still working fine on vodafone in the UK. thanks for the video.
So dope, sometimes I think about buying one.
Very cool video, deserves more views
The first time i ever seen one of these actually work!!
This makes me happy.
That is absolutely fantastic
I don't know why this doesn't have any views or likes, but I'm the first! Amazing video, loved it!
incredible
I remember in 1992 my mum argued with my dad during a drive in his Volvo 740GL. After arguing with him she threw the receiver📞 from the back seat against his head😂
so good
good job
8 watts!!! I want one . Thank you
I had it in my 1992 SAAB 9000 CD
but also, so fucking cool. where can I find one for use in America?
In no place. This one operates on 900Mhz gsm, in US there is 800Mhz.
You can back order direct from MOTOROLA sale clearance warehouse, if there's still any operable after China.Lenovo buyout or look up thrift stores & garage yard sales. It must be the US / AT&T / Bell certified version though with GSM 800 band
@@gameon2000 No more GSM 800 networks in the US. Only GSM network remaining is T-Mobile on 1900.
So in Germany it maybe shows "T-Mobile" if telekom or "d2 Privat"/"mannesmann" if Vodafone? I don't know the old network names.
Telly D-1
I remember as ny dad bought that he was broke drove an old Volvo740 gls. After argue with my mom she threw the receiver during a drive from the backseat to his head😂!
She shouted at him.."you are a loser a worker working at Frankfurter Rundschau!"😂
I have 1 device, I want it to work again.
Can I get this to work with my 1994 BMW car phone???
Well is it GSM? You'd need a Sim adapter also
Please ask to buy the same phone
السلام عليكم يالغالي لو سمحت ابي جوال سياره قديم مثل اللي في الفيديو
Is this mounted in a Car? Where do you Put it? It's so big
It can be, usually inbetween the drive and passanger seat
My parents kept it in the trunk lol. You have to know that back then it cost a fortune to actually make a call. You didnt use it unless you were rich or had an emergency. Thats it
I doubt it will connect to any network in the U.S., as 3G and below providers have stopped supporting. If you're traveling to the U.S., I wouldn't bother packing it for your trip. 🙂
@roachtoasties pretty sure it's an obsolete 2g phone.
SIM card in 1992?
i know my sis cell phone had one back in '98. cool to see they are older than that
Yepp GSM full format SIM. Every time you get a new provider, they stil send you the full format SIM card, in which you can cutout your mini SIM, micro SIM or nano SIM.
Analogue net SIM go even firther back knto the 80s
Would this work on Verizon?
Unfortunately, no, you'll see Verizon shut down its 2G CDMA wireless network since late 2020 and officially retire it in December 31, 2022
Hey?!
sir i need one piece in matrola international price?
Huh
I wouldn’t make calls on this lol. GSM is totally unencrypted.
What about CDMA? Since isn’t CDMA & GSM are The only options??
not like anyone would spy on gsm signals in this era
Dude, every time you call your mum on your 2023 5G
$1500 iPhone, you're still using GSM 800 / 900 2G net!
@@gameon2000 That’s not true at all…Verizon doesn’t even use GSM, they never have afaik.
And your a target? You don't have to worry, you're not a target it the hack
two words.
drug. dealers.
They can use normal phones now
