  • Motovlog #10 My Dads 1980 Honda Superdream First Ride
After the Gt Yarmouth takeover meet, I had a very quick try (15mins) on my dads very original 250cc Honda Superdream he has owned since 1980. This video is actually pretty embarrassing, I rode REALLY slowly - the position and feel of the bike is really different from the other bikes I've ridden recently so I was being overly cautious. Hopefully I'll get some more opportunities to ride it, and make a better review video in the future.

Owned a 250 superdream in 1980 and used it in all weathers. It never let me down and I never gave a thought as to how good or bad the brakes suspension of overall performance was; it was just a good bike to ride.

A lovely video, and a nice commentary. Its not a rocket ship, but it was never designed to be. Sometimes life at a slightly gentler pace is more enjoyable. Well done 🙂👍

Had one of these new in 1979, same colour. Took it to the TT and to Germany

Nice CB250, intresting how now days these models are slowly getting positive recognition.
Going back to the early 2000s I had two of them, they were litrally given away because they would considered out of fashion and abit dull.
But due to the two stroke bikes that were the direct rivals now demanding very high price tags, the humble superdream is now getting really sort after.
A fun test MCN did a while back was comparing the newer CBR250 with one of these it's safe to say the CBR had the performance over it but the fun factor was still definitely there on the CB.
    Have fun, safe riding!

Jake Ridez nah, this was me being overly cautious! It'll happily do 70, I was taking it easy as it was my first ride on it. Could rev that little engine a lot more, and hold on to gears longer. Dad was flying along on the way to Yarmouth!

To begin with, you are a good rider. I heard you say thanks to the cars at junctions, it means you are more aware than some. The points you noted, are accurate and informative. The bike is a classic and could be tax exempt by now.
    Just like mine 🙂

Cool old bike, has he owned it all that time? What does he think of modern bikes, does he own any other bikes?

yep, he's owned it from new :)
He loves modern bikes, I know he especially likes MV Augusta (who can blame him) and will always drool over one if he spots one!!
He's also got a rather nice mk1 fire blade CBR900 - hopefully will do a ride/vid on this at some point!! :) he tends to use the superdream nowadays for longer rides due to it's comfort and top box. Both are lovely things though, and I love the fact the super dream is the same age as me :)
I think my dad is to blame for my love of bikes ;p

Nice, I love that he has had it from new, the original fireblade is a great bike still, super jealous if he lets you ride it :) Saw an MV Augusta recently at hospital where I park, see some really nice bikes there.

you get a shock riding a motorcycle more than thirty years old. then so should ordinary everyday motorcycles, according to Honda
