I love how this doesn't just capture the mood of GoT, it's directly about the story too, specifically about Jon.
It mentions Melisandre with "holy devotion," seeing "footprints in the white of the snow," north of the Wall (and of course talking about the Wall itself). It even talks about the oath when you Take the Black, and the fact that Jon dies ("with my life I would pay"). And finally, it very clearly references the ice lake scene in S7, being surrounded and death certain, but "a ranger appeared," meaning Benjin Stark, and this being just before the Walkers breach the Wall. It's brilliantly written, captures the mood, the story, the suspense, ahead of the final season. #ForTheThrone

If u know the lumineers, you know that this lyrics aren't only for this "crap" (for me crap) series. They'd bring much more alike songs.

@@cockycookie1 is it about Jon or Bran bc Jon never sits the throne or intended on sitting it. However Bran did. I'm pretty sure Bran promised to finish what Jojen brought him all that way for. Bran also almost died and he and Mira were surrounded when Benjin showed up and when they got to winterfell the army of the dead followed not far behind. And Bran payed with his life bc by the end of his journey he wasnt Bran anymore.(From the show, I haven't watched the books)

not many have probably noticed but im fairly sure when they say night shade they mean essence of nightshade which is what cersei was gonna use on tommen during the battle of the blackwater, 3 drops for a nice nap, 10 drops for a perma nap

This took a whole different meaning after episode 3. It tells the story of Jon Snow and everything it costed, but in the end, it was all "For The Throne".
I didn't like the album at first bc modern music doesn't sound well with GoT, but as the season goes, these lyrics are killing me

@@jamyedean2914 I really fail at seeing how you don't regard Ser Jorah, Theon, and yes even the Night King as someone "important". Just because a character isn't your favorite (and you didn't tear up when he/she died) , doesn't mean that this character isn't important.
@@josephnasr3385, I did CRY when they died, as a matter of fact, and it always hurts to see characters that I have grown to love die in any fashion. I am a true fan of George's works, and this episode seemed contrived by Dave and Dan rather than the inner workings of asoiaf. If you read the previous comment made by the original poster, they said "who would die for the throne", and I believe I answered truthfully, no one died for the throne. They died for more meaningful reasons than the iron throne, but this is what television fans only focus on, that damn chair...
@@jamyedean2914 i see your point and where you're coming from. But don't forget, the wights and the NK were never the "main" idea/event of the show. It has always been the throne. Yes you are right they died for something more meaningful than a chair, but still... They're important characters who accompanied us since seasons 1-3 who died last episode. My fear is the more important characters that you're talking about are about to die as well against Cersei.

The song reminds me a lot of when Stannis attacks kings landing and they think he’s winning so Cersei is sitting on the throne telling Tommen a story and is about to give him essence of nightshade to kill him. And the lyrics in this song go ‘nightshade won’t you take me away’ which is exactly what the poison does. So I think it has something to do with that :).
