In today’s episode, Becket chats with Dr. Corey Miller, the president and CEO of Ratio Christi.
Ratio Christi wants to keep students strong in their faith so they can withstand the challenges they face as they go out into the world. We do this in three ways.
Arm Students With Reasons to Follow Christ
We bring faith and logic together to give students thought-out reasons for following Jesus Christ. Our goal is to help Christians work through their doubts, and ultimately share Christ with their peers.
Equip Professors with Tools to Share Their Faith
With the right encouragement, resources, and platform, professors can share their own faith with the students around them and be a light within their spheres of influence. We help provide these tools.
Plant University Clubs Nationwide and Around the World
University students are questioning purpose, faith, and identity. Our nationwide clubs provide a safe place to ask apologetics questions (and give leaders resources to tackle them with confidence).

    ABOUT BECKET:
Becket Cook was born and raised in Dallas, Texas. He attended Jesuit College Preparatory
School of Dallas. After graduating from college, Becket moved to Los Angeles to pursue his dream of writing and acting, finding success in both. He eventually went on to become a production designer working with the top photographers and directors in the world on fashion shoots for magazines such as Vogue and Harper’s Bazaar, and for ad campaigns such as Gap, L'Oréal Paris, and Nike.
Finding a new sense of freedom in L.A., Becket also fully engaged in his new life as a gay man. He had a series of many relationships with men throughout the next fifteen years.
In September of 2009, Becket met a stranger at a coffee shop in Silver Lake who invited him to his church in Hollywood called Reality L.A. Becket reluctantly agreed to attend the service. After hearing the sermon that Sunday, Becket was utterly transformed by the gospel and gave his life to Christ. He also knew on that day when God revealed Himself to him that homosexuality was a sin and that he could no longer live that life. Becket was more than happy to count everything as loss because of the surpassing worth of knowing Christ Jesus his Lord.
Becket spends much of his time in ministry speaking at churches, universities, and conferences helping believers (and non-believers) understand this issue biblically, theologically, culturally, and personally. Balancing grace and truth when teaching on this subject is of primary importance. His goal is to challenge the current cultural narrative about sexuality in general and homosexuality in particular by demonstrating through his personal testimony and biblical truths that, yes, homosexuality is still a sin, and that following Christ is infinitely more satisfying and joyous.
He has lived all over the world in major cities such as Rome, Vienna, and Tokyo.
Becket graduated from Talbot School of Theology at Biola University in 2017 with a Master of Arts in Theology.
Becket’s book, A Change of Affection: A Gay Man’s Incredible Story of Redemption, with a
foreword by Francis Chan, published by Thomas Nelson, released July 30, 2019.
TBCS theme song by Seth Kaye

Parents have to be very careful, or they will find that they have paid their hard earned money, and lots of it, to America hating and God hating atheist Marxist universities to turn their sweet children into America hating, God hating, atheist, Marxist revolutionaries, or anarchists. And the kids will hate you too and not talk to you for years. And YOU paid for it.- - - - Happens every day now.

Stopped at 20:52 just to write this comment:
I come from a family full of teachers, from Christian to Atheist.
And I'm very sad to report this is not at all strange - this absolutely baffling mobbing of being hauled into court if you don't "go along with the narrative" and especially if you are Christian, REGARDLESS of whether you ever mention that on campus or not! It's real. And it's getting worse. But the reality, if you stand back for a moment is this: the current most headstrong political push these days (wokeism) have their sacred holy place in the universities and on down to kindergarten. So, they go ballistic on you if you are a true Christian there -- again: spoken or never spoken.

I’m seeing and hearing this a lot from Christian families. I’m in Massachusetts and my second oldest is currently a junior in high school. She wants to go to a university here; no further than New England to be closer to home. I’m trying to gently steer her to Christian universities, preferably the one I graduated from 30 years ago. She hasn’t said no but is not yet 100% on board. We already have the experience of our oldest daughter living in a way that is not Christlike. She’s a good kid, about to graduate from nursing school from one of our state universities, but has broken our hearts with her personal decisions.

Beckett, I’m so thankful for your exemplary stand for Christ and your inspiring story and all your hard work. Many great points are made in this video, pertaining to the main topic as defined by the title. However, it’s important to clarify, that neither “Mormon” nor “Mormonism” are (or ever have been) actual names of the church referenced early on in this video. The correct name is: The Church of JESUS CHRIST of Latter Day Saints. From the actual title there should be no confusion as to whether it is a Christian church. Many Christian churches differ in their understanding of the Bible, but referring to them as anything but Christian is uncommon. For example, you still 6:24 refer to traditionally Christian churches that have chosen the unbiblical stance of being “gay affirming” as being Christian.
In any case, even if there are points of disagreement, it is my hope that the commonly held belief that Jesus Christ is the only true and living Savior of the world is the point from which all conversations flow. Much love and God bless!

My son, Luke Campbell, showed a Chinese foreign exchange student how Christ died for his sins at a garden on the Purdue campus. Luke is an evangelist and was working at the time nearby. He would often go to the Purdue campus and witness to students.
It was dark after the student accepted Christ. He asked Luke what he needs to do now and Luke told him he should be baptized. I’m not sure if it was the student that insisted upon being baptized right away, or Luke, but he baptized him in the fountain that I believe is located on the other side of the building. It’s one of my favorite stories of how Luke has shown the way to the lost.
How shall they hear if we don’t tell them?

Very grateful for the work being done in universities. I don’t know about The US Navigators, but I worry about the Canadian Navigators that seem to have gone in the direction of soft gospel and authors being used instead of scripture.

Our university is super woke, but I know 3 of the professors (science department) and they're all christians. Typically, people in the more rigorous fields are 'thinking' people

Jesus change the world by starting at the bottom going up. He went to the poor uneducated outcast of his time. I think God‘s ways are the best. The world hasn’t changed the educated, wealthy and powerful for the most part don’t see their need for Jesus. you have to ask yourself? Did Jesus go about it all the wrong way without starting with the people at the top.?

Hi Becket, I'd love your take on the pope releasing that Vatican document allowing for blessings for same sex and irregular couples. The Anglican church has released a similar allowance around the same time this December. I'm pretty sure you would see the handwriting on the wall w/ this.

Thankfully, there are plenty of bishops and priests rejecting it. We need to stick with the Truth and be in the world not of the world. It's a sad time with a very bad pope. What affects Catholics through the pope affects the world as well. Thankfully, there are many fighting and rejecting his scandal. There was absolutely no need for that to be written. It just caused more confusion and more division by making people think it's ok now that the pope has this in writing. He is fallible in this and can't be followed on this. I'll stay with the RCC, despite him, and live out the Catechism and not turn from God and His great design for us.

I hear higher moral values are taken over universities 😮 saying “Christians” just adds to the mindset it’s a religion 🙄 when I’ve learned Jesus didn’t come to start a new religion, he came to usher in the kingdom❤ The Kingdom is at hand!

Christianity is a religion. A religion is a set of beliefs, and practices that are based on those beliefs.

When you say that Christianity is not a religion, it opens the door to people defining Christianity as they see fit. That's why we see so many people saying they are not religious, they are spiritual. But that usually means they don't want to attend church or subscribe to any structures put in place by Jesus

    • @bethbatchelder932

@@nerychristian It’s the religious leaders Jesus had his confrontations with and they are the ones who wanted him out of the picture! He didn’t come to start a religion he came to usher in the kingdom of God and facilitate spiritual transformation❤️‍🩹❤️ renewing of the mind Romans 12:2.
Constantine the Great defined it as a religion!

@@bethbatchelder932 Look up the word Religion in the dictionary. True. The main reason why Jesus came to the Earth was to fulfill the Law and become the sacrifice for the sins of the world. But he also came to correct the Jews of the time, and to show them the correct interpretation of the law, and the correct way to pray and observe the law. He also established new practices that we believers are to observe. Such as the observance of the Lords Supper, the preaching of the Gospel, church structure, etc
