I’m in tears. That is the most amazing & beautiful podcast I’ve ever seen. Incredible! God is incredible, and Christians who listen and obey God can change the world. This is the BEST ministry! This is "in the trenches" ministry! My son and I were blessed to have a personal tour of the Dream Center a few years ago (by Pastor Matt), we helped them set up a Chiropractic clinic at the center. Sadly, I have lost touch with the Center as years have passed and life gets in the way. What a great place, God definitely has his hand on this place. Mr. Cook I appreciate your testimony and your work for the Kingdom.

...One thing that so impressed us was that while we were touring the Dream Center, I think they said there were about 600 people there and as we passed many people in the rooms and hallways, Pastor Matt seemed to know EVERYONE's names. So cool! We went in the room and there were a group of men in a circle on the floor doing bible study and Pastor Matt pointed out that some of them had been in the Bloods gang and some of them had been with the Crips gang! These gangs have been rivals since the 1960's. God is doing a work.

I've been serving a lady with a husband and a learning disability with no family in the area for 10 years. I have lost friends who talk about the whole "You're a daughter of the King! You're not a doormat!" thing, accusing me of listening to the devil by allowing myself to be used when I feel The Lord say to continue to serve this lady. I broke down at 26:04-5. God really showed me this was from Him! I felt this cry in my heart: "I'll keep being a doormat if it brings people to The Door, Who is Jesus Christ!". Thank you both so much. Risking your own life to find out what other people experience and need. But of course, all credit to our God, who makes ALL things possible!

Growing up as a sexual abuse survivor and all of that for myself just really hit home with those girls. I will be donating every single month to the dream Center. The building was a miracle from the beginning!! God told Amy simple McPherson to build a church during the depression nobody had money she said what??!! God did it!! He can do anything!! Brings back memories. Many years ago my ex & I went to Phoenix with a couple of friends to take a look at Tommy Barnett’s Master’s Commission. The next summer we helped our friends with the first local Master’s Commission. Several years later we made a couple of trips to the Dream Center. We had a vision to start a Dream Center in our city. That dream was kind of stolen from us and we were directed into business. I remember going from house to house while we there there just to ask the neighborhood, “What can we do to help you?”
Pastor Barnett was probably most known for having a soul-winning church. There's so many Biblical things he's taught that have stuck with me all these years (and it's been over 30 years since I went there). He who wins souls is wise., Be sure your sins will find you out., You can not outgive God. LOVE how Matthew has followed his dad's and his Father's heart. ❤

Wow, I am blown away by this awesome story! A little embarrassed that I didn't know any of this, as I've lived in L.A. county (suburb) for 20 years, have been a Christian for over 30 years, and attended Foursquare denomination churches from 12 years old to adulthood... I even did a research paper on Aimee Semple McPherson! I had heard of the Dream Center but in name only. This story is powerful! Only God could do this! It's so inspiring and encouraging to hear its founder and how God provided and guided each step of the way. This is one of the best stories I have heard! Now I want to be involved, to volunteer, to donate - what a wonderful ministry to our city. God has not given up on Los Angeles! He LOVES these people!

Don't get discouraged, keep praying! The Lord can reach him! Just like Jesus came into a locked room after he rose from the dead, he can go through walls into a locked heart or into a locked jail cell.

Finally got to watch - when I heard about homeless Barry turn into Pastor Barry I fully out loud yelled ‘no way !!!!’ - in the car no one heard me - then I teared up and couldn’t stop saying no way God you are amazing. These are definitely the times when the darkness is darker but the light will be brighter and when sin abounds grace super abounds ”Moreover the law entered, that the offense might abound. But where sin abounded, grace did much more abound: that as sin hath reigned unto death, even so might grace reign through righteousness unto eternal life by Jesus Christ our Lord.“ Romans 5:20-21 KJVAE
2 Peter 3:9 came to my heart watching this: The Lord is not slow to fulfill his promise as some count slowness, but is patient toward you, not wishing that ANY should perish, but that all should reach repentance. I am a nurse at a hospital in Arizona and one of the patients I took care of was from California, homeless and drug addicted. He shared his testimony with me that the California Dream Center absolutely changed his life. After his year of being a student he became a peer support counselor and he served there for years. He lived a hard life on the streets and has health problems but is still on the straight and narrow. This place is awesome

I was a foster mom for 12 years and fostered more than 200 kiddos! A member of the dream center church took us in a tour of the place! It was so so inspiring! Their church sponsored a foster home that had many difficult kiddos to place (high care needs kiddos) and they had people from the church come to the home in shifts to help with everything from laundry and meal prep to child care❤️❤️❤️. It was exactly what we think of when we read the book of acts- where everyone pitched to care for the needs of all! I loved it. The drug rehab program was amazing! Recovered parents is the best gift you could give a child!❤❤❤
Through this episode, I asked God to use me in this same way at whatever level He purposes: as a bridge to Jesus, free from all fear of being walked on. So thankful for your ministry. So blessed every time I learn how God is drawing people into the darkest corners like LA. What a breath of fresh air to see people staking territory for Christ rather than running away from my once-golden native state. Praise God for surrendered hearts like Beckett’s and Matthews! 💟✝️💜

I visited the LA Dream Center twice for short term missions and it felt like heaven. I felt so much love surrounding me. I love that place!

I even did a research paper on Aimee Semple McPherson! I had heard of the Dream Center but in name only. This story is powerful! Only God could do this! It's so inspiring and encouraging to hear its founder and how God provided and guided each step of the way. This is one of the best stories I have heard! Now I want to be involved, to volunteer, to donate - what a wonderful ministry to our city. God has not given up on Los Angeles! He LOVES these people!

Today, I need to believe that. I came from trying to get my brother from the police station. He was vile and belligerent. In the end, he's on the street. I am done. He's in the Lord's hand now.
Don't get discouraged, keep praying! The Lord can reach him! Just like Jesus came into a locked room after he rose from the dead, he can go through walls into a locked heart or into a locked jail cell.
I'm weeping. So beautiful.
Repent and believe the gospel. Everybody needs Jesus. Only Jesus can save lost sinners. Jesus wins and the devil loses be on Jesus's side.
Nothing is impossible for our God, no one is beyond his grace. Great episode!

Finally got to watch - when I heard about homeless Barry turn into Pastor Barry I fully out loud yelled ‘no way !!!!’ - in the car no one heard me - then I teared up and couldn’t stop saying no way God you are amazing. These are definitely the times when the darkness is darker but the light will be brighter and when sin abounds grace super abounds ”Moreover the law entered, that the offense might abound. But where sin abounded, grace did much more abound: that as sin hath reigned unto death, even so might grace reign through righteousness unto eternal life by Jesus Christ our Lord.“

Incredible story. 👍❤ Wonderful testimony of what our wonderful Creator can and will do.
I am a nurse at a hospital in Arizona and one of the patients I took care of was from California, homeless and drug addicted. He shared his testimony with me that the California Dream Center absolutely changed his life. After his year of being a student he became a peer support counselor and he served there for years. He lived a hard life on the streets and has health problems but is still on the straight and narrow.
This place is awesome

I was a foster mom for 12 years and fostered more than 200 kiddos! A member of the dream center church took us in a tour of the place! It was so so inspiring! Their church sponsored a foster home that had many difficult kiddos to place (high care needs kiddos) and they had people from the church come to the home in shifts to help with everything from laundry and meal prep to child care❤️❤️❤️. It was exactly what we think of when we read the book of acts- where everyone pitched to care for the needs of all! I loved it.
The drug rehab program was amazing! Recovered parents is the best gift you could give a child!❤❤❤

Through this episode, I asked God to use me in this same way at whatever level He purposes: as a bridge to Jesus, free from all fear of being walked on.
So thankful for your ministry. So blessed every time I learn how God is drawing people into the darkest corners like LA. What a breath of fresh air to see people staking territory for Christ rather than running away from my once-golden native state. Praise God for surrendered hearts like Beckett’s and Matthews! 💟✝️💜
