I’m tired(4) Notes: This was a long one, all the personal biz is slowing down, so I’m hoping to release every other week. Hoped you like it! Now excuse me as I fight the ever increasing mob of Tally Hall fans breaking into my house at the mome
yeah, that'd make since for the meanings - when i got into tally hall, i didn't really like any songs, just ruler of everything and banana man, because one, they are fire songs, and two, i knew the meanings and was like "heck yeah." it was only until i learned the other song meanings i liked the rest of their songs X3, i love meanings w video btw
When I first saw this video, i read the 28 views as 2B views and I was so confused for a second, still deserves more views and even convinced me to listen to tally hall
@@BigHiopMan37 yea, the other commenter is my friend Alyce, she introduced me to tally hall and as soon as I started listening to them I realized I knew half of their discography from TikTok lol, anyways thanks for the support :)
This makes sense to me for the disliking part - you don’t like a song because you don’t think it has meaning, when you really just missed it. But it doesn’t really make sense for the liking part, people like bands that sing about nothing, and people like music that doesn’t have meaning at all. The meaning is more of a little sprinkle on top that might unsour someone to them, but I don’t think it’s what people look for when they play Tally Hall. They don’t listen to it to go discuss the hidden lore with their friends, what makes people like it is it’s fun, generally lighthearted music. I don’t think you’d start listening to harshnoise if it had really deep and good backstory. If Merzbow added backstory to pulse demon would you be a merzbow fan? I’m not sure most people would.
I get your point, the main argument I was trying to make though was that the meanings of the songs are what make Tally Hall stand out, otherwise they kinda just sound similar to a lot of other stuff, plus many songs that people don’t like from them I’ve seen mostly come from the fact that they don’t know what the song means
@@HA11EYS_COM3T plus it’s also personal experiences, some of their songs I just liked, but when I learned the meanings and dissected the lyrics, I appreciated them way more, for example, Variations On A Cloud I thought was just a pretty good song, but when I learned the meaning, I appreciated it way more, to the point it’s now on my top 20 songs of all time. The same thing with Fate Of The Stars, it originally was one of the worse ones on G&E for me until I learned the meaning and appreciated the writing way more, and now it’s one of my favorites on G&E

I forget sometimes that people don’t like them cuz I live in an echo chamber 😭

idk why anyone would dislike mucka blucka and banana man? two masterpieces :D
Real, Banana Man has really well done themes hidden behind funny writing, and Mucka Blucka obviously is a 10/10
