how this guy never ceases to blow my mind doesn't matter what year I look at is incredible.. he has to be the best guitarist in the world, the way he continuously improves himself.
I usually don't like to apply generalizations to something like this, but I think in terms of technical ability, he is one of the 3 best players in the world. The other two being Guthrie Govan and Shawn Lane.
Interesting to hear Paul play Bach. The only other rock guitarist I've ever heard play Bach are Ritchie Blackmore and Yngvie Malmsteen. Paul Gilbert is in good company

this is one of the best sounding guitars Paul has! I wish he would play these ash-bodied guitars more often, the tone blows away the basswood and mahogany guitars - imho

Paul Gilbert is 51 years old and 6'4". Not surprising if he gained some weight. He's not 20 where he could eat anything and gain no weight. It happens even to the best of us.

動画最後の高音弦部分、珍しくもしっかりとミスってるので逆に貴重な映像ですね笑
低音弦で完璧に弾けてるのに、5弦辺りで少しスケールフォームが変わったのか、はたまた独特すぎるサクラのメロディーが一瞬記憶から飛んだのか、耳コピが不慣れな子みたいな演奏になってて新鮮です笑
一回音を覚えたら、ポールのような天才は全音域で完璧に弾けちゃうものだと思っていたので、ギターモンスターにも練習って必要なんだなと、妙な感動を覚えました笑

Golf Hound Ibanez built a series of guitars in the 70s that were awfully similar to Gibson’s guitars and they (Gibson) sued Ibanez over it.
I own 30 guitars. Finally I see why I'm not as good as PG. I need 70 more guitars.
