    You got me hype about my 2022 Metris coming in. I can’t wait man! Home inspector by day and a MTB Weekend Warrior. Two years later, so glad I came across this video.

    These are our pickup trucks in Europe. Perfect cargo vehicles for tighter cities... Torquey, easy to park and not too wide. Plus no speed limit on the Autobahn unlike semi trucks.

      These have a fuel cutoff at 101 mph... or so I’ve been told

    • @Loothansa
      @Loothansa 4 роки тому +1

      The Hooniverse I have seen 108mph in one, but that was some time ago. I doubt theyd go much faster anyway, not that youd want to haha. At least you wont have to go 50mph.
      Just remembered that might have been a VW.

    I have a 2017 that I put 304,000 miles in 2.5 years. My advice is to sell by 200k. Since 250k miles I have
    put in 15k maintenance and repairs. Still more coming. Here’s a list by most expensive .
    1. Turbocharger $4,000
    2. Exhaust airflow repair $2000
    3 Alternator $1500
    4. Boost hoses transmission service $1200
    5. Brakes $1200
    6. Four Tires $1000
    7. Plugs/coils $1000
    8 Injector replacement ordered.

      @@speedyfinalmile damn!
      Question… I have a 2005 GMC Safari RWD and needs $6k to be like new again:
      Transmission $1500
      Rear diff $1200
      Mechanical repairs as recommended by mechanic(brakes, sway bar and other miscellaneous things) $3000
      So that’s $5700 cash that I would need to put down to have a like new vehicle again.
      Should I just bite the bullet and make repairs or get a new cargo vehicle ? (Metris, connect, pro city etc)
      Sorry for the massive info; don’t really know who to ask.
      Edit: I’m in the mobile detailing business so I travel for work

    The passenger version was sold here in Brazil with this 2 liter turbo engine but with six speed manual transmission. Is was the cheaper manual rwd car here. It was sweet! But didn't sold well, Fiat and Renault had bigger vans for the same price. The cargo version was fwd and had a Renault 1.6 turbodiesel engine

      @@gerry2893 I would sell it soon. Values are up. See my post I have 304,000 on a 2017 Metris and it’s costing a new van price to replace everything . I use it as a daily expedited delivery vehicle.

      @@speedyfinalmile Wow..! 304K..! I have 90K as of this post and so far so good. I also sub'd to your channel which is very informative. I will take your advice and may look into selling through this year. My Metris has been a true money making champ but I admit the eventual maintenance scares me as it gets older. I expedite as well but with heavier equipment. I would love to see Honda or Toyota come out with cargo vans as maintenance would be at a minimum. Overseas Toyota has the Pro Ace which would be perfect for what we do, FYI, they do not have plans to bring it to the US which is disappointing. I do like the larger Nissan NV cargo van but honestly...its' ugly as sin...!

    • @speedyfinalmile
      @speedyfinalmile 3 роки тому

      @@gerry2893 Yes I did have some expensive repairs before 150k. Mainly a Alternator and for some reason tensioner pulleys seize up a few times. Once under Warranty and twice not covered. Factor in Maintenance which is equal to repairs on most vehicles and it adds up.

    I have owned a metris since 2016 and i only get 25,000 miles on a set of tires and corporate says that's typical. Many people i have talked to have told me they also have tire issues.

    • @spydersniiper
      @spydersniiper 4 роки тому

      Yeah, where do you cut corners to meet a certain price point? Tires! All manufacturers do this! I’ve heard some folks get 12-15k out of stock tires! I forget the brand. But think along the lines of heavier economic suvs/crossovers. It’s nothing new mate. And nothing personal. Think of it as an opportunity to get some bitching tires! I kinda see it as a good thing since tires are the most important equipment on a vehicle period.
