- HOW TO GRAFT BOUGAINVILLEA IN 6 EASY STEPS
1. Cut stem of the root stock where you want to graft the scion
2. Remove leaves from the scion and gently make a v cut at the scion's base.
3. Slice the diameter of the root stock stem where you want to place the scion.
4. Cross the root stock and scion together, important note is to properly meet the green bark portion are at maximum contact for faster healing.
5. Wrap the graft with grafting tape just to press them firmly and allow them to have closed contact together.
6. Cover the whole grafted stem with transparent plastic coverings, transparency makes you check them more easily when new leaves have grown.
You will need:
-Root stock - base plant
-Scion - the one we want to graft
-Cutters
-Grafting tape
-Tie wires
-Disposable transparent plastic bags
You can remove the covers when new leaves started to grow, just gradually remove the cover and avoid exposing the grafted stem on the outside world too soon.

I was watching this, thinking "why on earth would you graft that, you could just grow it on the branch in weeks anyways", but then realized that, using this tech, I can put variously-colored flowers onto 1 specimen!!! (A) What do you use as a root stock for your bougainvillea-grafts?
(B) Have you used other species as root-stock for bougainvillea?
(C). other-grafts?
(D). Have you thought to use a different root-stock for variety/strength?
(E). or to graft to an actual (grown/young/old) tree (on its trunk that's leveled or on its branches or something?).
Answers:
A. Bougainvillea plants also
B. No, I grafted bougainvillea scion to bougainvillea rs
C. Trying to graft fruit tress
D. Not yet
E. Yes i did, some rambutan and mountain apples
F. Only bougainvilleas and some fruit trees as of the moment.
Bougainvillea are so hardy it would probably be hard to find a something better to use IMO.

Anything that can cover them and is transparent so that they will not be exposed to hot weather. Sometime i cut big plastic bottles and use it as cover

Aşılama çok sıcak değil yapılmalıdır, çok soğuk bir ay değil ülkenize bağlıdır. Kök stoğunda birden fazla scripti oluşturabilirsiniz. ve budama ilkbahardan önce yapılacaktır.

Hi emily! Thank you! I don’t know if i can ship it abroad, I am from the Philippines. Anyway, you can buy bougainvillea on local stores near you and just follow the instructions and tips for a successful graft

Yes you can use plastic bags. Minimum of 14 days or when there are new leaves thats the time you can gradually remove the cover
When to remove the plastic tape?
Do you have pictures of the Flowers of the 4 varieties at present how they look like?
Also,after graphting, place the entire plant in a dakish / shady / cooler spot.
Which seasons do timely?
It is best to do grafting on spring, not so hot and not freezing or cold.

Minimum of 14 days when there are leaves growing then gradually remove the cover. Dont remove the cover immediately
