Q&A - My yucca plant has white spots on the leaves. What is it?

  • These are mealybugs. University of Memphis Director of Landscape Joellen Dimond says the plant is probably under some kind of stress which attracted the bugs. She wonders if the plant is in enough sun or if it is overwatered. UT Extension Agent Chris Cooper lists some low-impact insecticides you can use to kill mealybugs.

    I have A grayish/whitish group of larvae looking stuff that keeps appearing after I put my yucca in the shower to wash them off. It’s not moving or crawling but it just sits on the leaves, do you know what it may be and how to really get rid of them and keep them from coming back? I have Used neem oil it doesn’t work. Is it maybe in the soil?
