Peter Noone is a remarkable human being. Aside from having sung some of the best songs that ever emerged from the 60’s “British invasion”, he successfully navigated worldwide fame from the age of 15 without the all-too-common emotional and substance abuse problems. He’s had a long, stable happy marriage. He conquered TV, Broadway, the West End and radio. And he’s remained a humble, super nice guy. I just loved getting to interview him. I hope you enjoy this in-depth up close and personal conversation.
No milk today was by far my favorite as a youngster. It seems also to be the most viewed on UA-cam. Fascinating to hear Peter tell us about his great career. Some artists just seem to beloved by peers and fans alike. ✨
I was a big Beatles, Stones, Yardbirds, Animals fan in the 60’s, but I liked the Hermits also. Their songs were catchy, fun, happy and they looked like they were having fun.
Peter is a really nice human being. Humble, I think. My favorite songs of his are No Milk Today, and Kind of a Rush. I enjoyed them. Their act was harmless and much fun. I am so glad he got to be interviewed by literally the best interviewer of the century. Mr. Brownstone should be teaching future interviewers how to do it. If they are smart they are watching. One of the best things to happen to me in the past several months was finding Harvey. My dog passed away May 23 and this is helping me get over the devastating loss because I concentrate on excellence. So you see, I am indebted to you, sir.
I am very deeply touched by your beautiful comments about me and our show. It warms my soul to know that you enjoy my interviewing style. Thank you so much. My deepest heartfelt condolences on the loss of your beloved dog. I have experienced such a loss several times and it’s devastating. My heart goes out to you. I am sending you much love and many big hugs. ❤️❤️❤️
I hope you check out all our interviews with stars of that era: Florence LaRue, Marilyn McCoo & Billy Davis Jr. (The 5th Dimension), Felix Cavaliere from the Rascals, Strawberry Alarm Clock, Freda Payne, The Seekers and so many more!!
I had the pleasure of seeing Herman’s Hermits at Angiano’s near Detroit just before covid and he came out after he played. he really does listen. He talked to me about his songs being pretty simple to play after I told him I tried to get my band to play I’m into something good. And took a minute to talk about some of the musicians he worked with in the studio. Very humble, personable, and sincere. I’ll always treasure that.
Thank you so much! That’s my trademark as an interviewer! I do my homework, ask interesting questions, and yes, I do let them talk!!! I hope you’ll check out our other great interviews and consider subscribing to our UA-cam channel. 🙏❤️
I know I always tell you this, but it's true every single time...what a fantastic interview, I enjoyed it so much! What a nice man, it really made my heart happy to know that there are music stars out there still that are so humble and kind! You were wonderful as well, Harvey, thanks for all the homework you do to be so prepared!!! 🌼
There are like 26 singles! Saw Herman's Hermits in Peekskill NY last night- waiting for posts- I only took pictures. Enjoyed the show. Can't wait to go back. The fans are " Noone-atics" ( rhymes with Lunatics). Following the band for years- I fit right in owning 4 Lps alot of their singles and recently CDs.
Thank you for this interview. I so appreciate it as i adore Mr. Noone and his music. Herman's Hermits is my favorite band I was raised on oldies even though that music arose a little before my birth😊 I just ordered the movie Hold On with Noone and Shelley Fabres. Such an adorable film they have a great chemistry together and wonderful music❤❤❤❤❤❤
I can attest to what a nice guy he is I've been lucky to meet many performers from the 60s. Peter is so witty and personable guy. Means alot to us fans when the performers take time for us thank you too peter and many others who do and care and get it. Saw him in okoboji 2 weeks ago..
Peter Noone is one of our favorites, k don't have enough fingers to tell you how many times we have seen him in concert at Epcot (we live 10 minutes from Disney World), he always puts on a fabulous show, still a wonderful singer and performer with loads of energy and he always engages the audience in joining him with Henry the 8th song, also still has that great hair
Great interview! Love Peter Noone! Seen him several times in concert, always puts on a fantastic show. Most recently saw him at a fair in Woodstock, Ct over Labor Day weekend! 🩷🩷🩷
I enjoyed this interview with Peter Noone very much, even though I can see why it was a little challenging. He is a bit fragmented in his thoughts and the way he communicates, but I love his music and this was an awesome interview!
Peter came into my showroom at the California Mart when I was a sales rep for a Jean company back in the 70s . He must have had a retail shop at the time, it's decades ago I remember nothing much :(
Terriffic interview Harvey! My family loved Herman's Hermits I saw Peter Noone twice He's a marvelous entertainer, very witty and of course a superb songwriter
I have always been drawn to Peter Noone himself and his music. Right now i am having my own HH renaissance having seen him on retro ME TV Ed Sullivan Show a few weeks ago singing, Now Ain't That Just A little Bit Better. "Love, love, love, is all I can give ya. Sweet, sweet love, as long as I may live..." A thrill and I can't stop watching it! The electricity of the young girls in the audience is shown, adding to the thrill capturing the spirit of the day. What a charmer. I have not seen Peter interviewed before that i recall. Just clips of his retro tours where he has a lot of fun with his audience and spoofs his own aging which is kind of charming. Your interview meets my needs of Peter being the person I would want him to be. Grounded and seemingly humble. Thank you for presenting him to me in this moment in time. "Herman' is to the pop world what John Davidson and Lesley Ann Warren are to Disney and The Happiest Millionaire!!! You have an incredible ability to pluck the somewhat obscure (by today's standards) that I want to see!@@harveybrownstoneinterviews8980
You didn't ask the big question...why did Herman's Hermits break up in the early 70's? My theory is that by the early 1970's Herman's Hermits was no longer relevant on radio playlists. A producer of a record company once turned down The Doors because he told them that they looked and sounded like a sullen angry group of young men. The producer wanted to know why The Doors couldn't be more like Herman's Hermits. Well the tables eventually turned on groups like Herman's Hermits and Gary Lewis and Playboys as sullen angry looking groups like The Doors were what popular culture wanted to hear on radio by the early 1970's. That is my theory.
@@harveybrownstoneinterviews8980 Harvey, it was very engaging, as usual (even after he called you "Howie", lol). You have a gift for putting the artist at ease and opening them up to sharing the deeper things in their career. During the Tommy James interview, I subscribed to your channel.
I bet that Peter is great to meet at a celeb event. Sorry and sad to remember, 2 rock stars (who I adored growing up) where not as nice as they appeared on their rock tv show. :(

Herman's Hermits has always been the one most underrated rock band in history. Peter Noone is the loviest man in rock, and most entertaining!❤

Just saw Peter Noone at the CANYON clubs in Agoura hills and Montclair last night and tonight .... Peter is a true legend performer
He sure is.
I was a big Beatles, Stones, Yardbirds, Animals fan in the 60’s, but I liked the Hermits also. Their songs were catchy, fun, happy and they looked like they were having fun.
I agree. Loved their songs and their cheerfulness
What a down to earth person Peter Noone is!
Yes, he’s a really sincere, humble guy. I absolutely adore him.

Great stories from Peter. Knowing Lennon and others, music influences on his life. Love his retelling the 1960s. In some ways he’s forever young.

What makes some great is because he doesn't try to run away from his past everything was positive upbeat
That’s very true. He’s a happy guy.
When the hits stopped in the states in1968 they got a lot of more hits in the uk right up till 1971 .
Yes exactly
Once upon a time Herman had imperfect teeth that so worked for him with a grin that lit up the world!
I think he still lights up the world!
