    I’m in the US and a big problem we have is MLM sellers (like Mary Kay, pure romance etc) ruining our fairs. Have you seen these kinds of sellers where you are?

    • @Radcrochet
      @Radcrochet  5 років тому +11

      100% ...we get like MLM sellers such as "Tropical" or "Forever Aloe" and other shop brands such as "Avon" and "The body shop" ...I feel it ruins the craft fair honestly, I'd dislike having a stall right next to them as it puts customers off

    I think you just had the wrong crowd. You needed people who appreciate handmade items. Better luck to you next time!

      Thank you 😁 I agree, My next craft fair is a "Handmade Market" so I'm keeping my fingers crossed for that one.

    Great advice. I completely agree. I am a crafter and would never sell at a family fun day. A good organizer wouldn't even book makers at those events. Better luck next time. Your products are very nice!

      Hello :D I was very new to craft fairs, it was my 2nd one, I have had 3 successful ones since and thank you so much!

    I am 13 and I have done a few craft fairs with my crochet items. Many people passed by and just gave me a quick glance. The place where this happened had 2 parts one in one month and one in another month. The second month I was successful. So it all depends on the day.

    • @Radcrochet

      I 100% agree, 3 craft fairs I sold nothing and 2 craft fairs I made close to a £100 - it really does depend on a lot of factors e.g weather, location, audience :)

    Where I live in the US we have craft fairs only before Christmas. When the high school would do it they let Avon and others sell at it. Now that it is at an elementary school they only allow one none craft seller and she sells candles. However, she does work with the schools and Special Olympics for fundraisers so I don't mind her.
    During the summer we have Art Fairs, Farmers Markets and once a month Trunk Sale. The only one you have to watch are the Art Fairs, one host allows non handcrafted items and the other doesn't. I have heard the Holiday Fairs do the best.

      That's a great idea, if they must allow MLM scheme sellers ..only 1 should be allowed. I LOVE watching videos on US craft fairs, they look a lot of extravagant then the UK fairs.

    Thank you for your review of your craft fair. I am starting to build stock to begin selling at fairs this year but here in Alabama, US, the booths are a bit pricey so my worry is that i will have to make so much to sell enough just to break even, but I will not know until i try, right? thank you for your tips on making a fair successful

    I think your good attitude says it all. So many times I can be so hard on myself forgetting that at least I got my biz name out there and I met other vendors. The one thing I have decided is if at all possible be as far away of the live music as possible. It is really hard to talk to customers over loud music.

    • @Radcrochet
      @Radcrochet  3 роки тому

      That is a very good tip, one which I never thought of so thank you for sharing.
      Craft fairs have been trial and error for me but once I learnt from my mistakes I have had successful ones :D
      Keep pushing to get your business name out there and it will all be worth it in the end! Thank you for watching the video and leaving a comment too :D
