Which probably means they were developing their case quietly, and when they were SURE they had folks, they dropped the hammer. Going after a powerful woman of color in this day and age takes a whole lot of preparation. I just watched a documentary about the downfall of the mob in the US. If even mobsters talked and collaborated with the FBI, does Tiffany really think that the people who have been loyal to her until now won't talk?!
Remember that among the people who are "loyal" to her, a lot of them are doing what she tells them to do only because they would lose their job if they didn't. It's still wrong but it's not like they're doing it because they like her and want to support her. These people will have no problem to throw her under the bus as soon as they see an FBI badge.

Live next door to this town, it is heartbreaking when someone steals from the poor or low income. It’s worse when it’s from within, your own neighbors. Why they wait so long to do something about this? Must be an election year. The stolen money will never be returned. Never is.
The lesson to learn here is that voting does matter. If you don't vote, vote. Look on the internet for information on the candidates. Do they have positive experience in a previous elected capacity? Do they have experience leading or managing a business? Do they attend a church or other social organization? Are they active in the community and if so what have they accomplished? The Dolton Mayor was a very visible problem that was going to go bad but people still voted for her.
We do large scale comedy events in Australia, and the first thing we do to warm the audience up is play five minutes of the Community meetings at Dolton Township - all the way over in the USA - to get the laughs rolling.
